He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and thorough--he offered more insight than anyone else I spoke with. His professionalism alone made choosing Cardinal an easy decision. When installation day arrived, I received helpful notifications letting me know exactly when the team would show up. Zach White and Logan Mossman arrived right on time, and both of them were so polite and thoughtful. They slipped on boot covers the moment they walked in and took the time to really listen to what I wanted. I asked that the HALO ION-6 be installed on the main line so the whole house would benefit, and they understood immediately why that mattered. They also worked with me on how the gas line should be routed, and they handled every detail exactly as I requested. Their workmanship was truly impressive--clean, tidy, and so well-organized. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Even better, they kept the mood light and fun, singing along to "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" while they worked, which made the whole experience feel surprisingly enjoyable. He told my husband it would be $360 to remove the toilet to see what was wrong. My husband specifically asked ok so if you remove the toilet do nothing and put it back it will be $360. Thomas said yes. He said if he had to replace the flange it would be a little over $900. My husband asked him to leave. The "service" call included no service. He only took 2 pictures and did nothing else. The service call was $70. So we basically paid for him to ring the door bell and take pictures. No diagnostics done. I called the company and the manager called me and said he wanted a mutual resolution. He offered nothing but an explanation of how much his truck cost and his overhead which is why we had to pay the "service" fee even though they did absolutely nothing but take pictures. He must have "explained" his overhead to me 5 times and thought what his plumber did was acceptable. Called a different plumber. He came out and fixed the problem in 30 minutes for $175 all included. Under no circumstances would I use this company. They are not honest and definitely over charge. BEWARE

When I first started with Barrett H&C, I bought the yearly service plan and have renewed it every year since. It's a good value and a great way to keep your heating and cooling system going strong while not straining your budget. The package includes annual visits twice a year at the beginning of each cooling and heating season. Doing these bi-annual check-ups, helps keep an aging system last a little bit longer. Over the years I have had a couple different service technicians, but they've all been professional and friendly. When I schedule my appointment, the dispatcher gives me a couple of time windows to choose from. When the tech is on his way to my house, the dispatcher calls and lets me know they are on the way. Good techs and an attentive dispatcher, equals quality customer service.

The tech put on a show of looking for a gas leak and lo and behold he found a leak at hot water heater. Did not ask if I wanted him to tighten coupling just pulled out a crescent and snugged it up. Charged about $60 for this service. Wondering if anyone else has left Barrett tech alone for long enough for them to find "a gas leak"? Feels very suspect to me.

Have a faucet that includes a water filter in the sprayer head. It was not working properly so…read moreAmerican Standard sent a replacement. We unfortunately chose a "handyman" to install. He had no idea what he was doing. After he finished, we had no hot/cold water. When I mentioned it, he got angry and left. Called American Standard and they thought I might need a new faucet. I called ABBCO and they were able to come day after the faucet arrived. I explained everything to Cody. He said, "I don't think you need a new faucet," and went to work. He discovered pieces of rubber in the line, removed water flow restrictors, bled the lines again and continued until water flow was like new. BUT, he didn't stop there. I asked about our toilet they had worked on before. He showed me how to fine tune the insides and what causes them to not operate properly. Then made sure the shut-off valve was working properly. Then he wanted to try and get a little more water pressure on the hot side and ended up bleeding a line going to the bathroom faucet. He got a lot of debris out of that faucet also. He did all of this in an hour. Cody was friendly, understanding, and told me he wasn't leaving until my faucet was working properly. Now I have an extra faucet in case we need it for parts in the future. I also have to give a shout-out to American Standard as my Saybrook faucet has a lifetime warranty so the replacement faucet was free. I wish I had called ABBCO originally. They charged a service call, then an hourly rate, and the job was done correctly.

The installers were on time, efficient, neat, and really nice guys. The installation looks great and works as expected. I got a thorough explanation of how to operate the unit before the guys left. It's still a major repair that needs immediate attention. It's better to do it, sooner than, later. My house has only a partial basement, the majority of it is finished crawl space. I have a laundry room upstairs, so all that is in my basement is the furnace and extensive shelving units for storage. With that being stated, I rarely have any need to go down into my basement. When I did venture down after one of the early spring down pours, I discovered I had an issue. It wasn't major, but I wanted it fixed before it became one. Again, being new to the RIverbend area, I reached out to friends and family for recommendations. Everyone of them said the same thing, "Midwest Basement". So it was a no-brainer on calling them to do the job. They came and gave me an estimate, explained what they would be doing and told me what I needed to move to make the work area more accessible. When scheduling a time, they were accommodating to my unique work schedule. Best of all, it was a smooth job and they completed the job faster and easier than anticipated. I could not have been happier with the work team. They were all very professional, friendly and respectful of my property. Their clean-up at the end of each day was impressive in itself. The weather has been dry since my work was completed, so I'm waiting for the next rain to really check things out. He then discovered that the Ameren contractors messed up and crossed our wires. He corrected Ameren's mistake and and called Ameren himself and waited with me until Ameren came out to verify and restore power. As it turns out, when the Ameren contractors hooked up the wires incorrectly it destroyed some of the electrical items in my home. So I also had him come out and replace our bathroom fan and a GFCI that Ameren's people destroyed. He was professional, honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. I needed a person to look at my home electrical. My water heater fried so bad it had flame marks all over the top. The plumber said I needed my electrical box checked out because my breaker didn't work and could of made my home burn. So I waited a few days for the plumber. But he came right on the time he said he would come. Then after him telling me that I need everything checked out. I called to get a person to check the electric. Casey answered the phone and said he would be at my house at 7:30am. Well at 8am I called and left a message to call me or text if he was coming because I needed to let my work know when I was going to be there or if he wasn't coming I would just go to work. NEVER called back. I have called 5-6 times over the day and no returned calls. I am not a mean person so if he would of called or texted and said something came up I would of been ok with that and we could of found another date or I could of called someone else. But no no calls or text. I think this is so low. I would of worked with him but I needed my electric checked out so my house wouldn't burn, So I can take a shower and run my dishwasher. but I can't. I had my hopes up that I wouldn't have to go the guy to shower. I explained all of this to Casey. When someone or business gives you their word and then puts you in more of a bind, that isn't good. Now I have someone coming I hope on Tuesday. Wish me luck. But Casey isn't a man of his word. Sorry to say.
