I requested a hormone panel, which I read can be as simple as blood or urine tests. My child has been having mood swings for over two months. My other child has darkening near her armpits and chest, a sign of PCOS. The nurse practitioner not only denied checking their hormone levels to see if there was an imbalance, but claimed that no other doctor in the practice could either. She first said that they do not request tests that are unnecessary like hormone panels because of cost. But she then offered later on in the visit TO HAVE BLOOD DRAWN! I had asked what was in a blood panel and if it checked hormone levels. She said no, but she could have a blood panel drawn. She not only contradicted herself and acted strangely, but it seems she may have been lying. I very rarely take my children to the doctor, only if I feel there is validity in a visit. It was very disheartening to to receive no answers and be denied services. I can't fathom why a medical professional would behave like this. If you are looking for an Obgyn I highly suggest looking somewhere else.
