Our experience at the Loew's Hotel in Coral Gables was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with kind and helpful staff members. Our room was nice and offered lovely views of the nearby downtown Miami. We chose to stay here instead of downtown due to the fact that we simply do not like it. We were pleasantly surprised with the Coral Gables area. The pool area was nice, though we weren't able to enjoy due to the rain. The gym offers a variety of different machines and allows you to get a proper workout in while traveling. The hotel offers multiple restaurants, but we enjoyed the Americana Cafe very much. It was our anniversary and they gave us free champagne to cheers with and treated us like royalty. We will definitely be back! read more

Disclaimer: I did not actually stay the night at the hotel, but I booked a cabana at the pool on Resort Pass so I had somewhere to spend the day following my cruise. This was a great plan as I was able to have the front desk hold our bags all day while we lounged by the pool. The pool area was great with an infinity pool, hot tub, and a rooftop view of the Miami skyline. Our cabana came with 4 lounge chairs outside the cabana, and inside had a full size couch, comfy chair, small table, a TV with live channels as well as hotel movie/show offerings, a large countertop with a small fridge stocked with non-alcoholic beverages, a safe, and some storage. All the drinks in the fridge were complimentary plus we also received a large and beautiful fruit plate as well as an order of fresh made chips and guac. When I arrived, I thought the staff might be a little cold to us since we weren't actually overnight guests, but it was quite the opposite. The concierge made sure our bags got taken back to storage while we got our key cards from the desk to be able to access the pool area and use the elevators. Then he gave us a lay of the land and everything we needed to know for the day. I spoke to him that evening before we left and we has fantastic. It was the nicest weather day in a while so the pool was busy, having access to shade and our own chairs was a perfect and relaxing way to end our vacation. We also ordered a burger and fries aside from the included food and it was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our day of relaxation and were even able to grab a quick shower and change before heading to the airport for out 10pm flight. I believe we payed $300 for the cabana for the day plus a $50 fee to Resort Pass and it was well worth it for the convenience. I would absolutely do it again. With that being said, there were a couple things that were more of just annoyances, but didn't spoil the experience, but I feel could easily be corrected. It's a bit nitpicky, but this is a very high end and rather expensive hotel/experience so I'll share them. One was that there are two cabanas with 8 chairs between them... 4 for each as you're allowed up to 4 guests. I did have a friend that was going to stop by, but she didn't make it. Either way, there were multiple times that hotel guests came looking for open chairs and one couple ended up sitting in our chairs for a bit. Yes, we were only two people but we were initially using the two chairs further from the cabana because they were in the sun. Now we had a couple sitting right next to me on my couch getting work done on their laptop. The staff didn't notice so we had to go over to the bar and let someone know before they asked them to move. Shortly after, another couple came and took a set of chairs from the other cabana. Staff came over to let them know that the area was reserved and the couple insisted that if nobody was using them then they should be able to sit there. The couple from the other cabana then offered up the chairs, probably because they felt guilty since the couple was already sitting there. In that situation, the staff should not have allowed the guests to feel that way, you pay good money for the space and it's supposed to be somewhat private as it's set back from the rest of the chairs at the pool. All day we felt like we had to put stuff on our chairs to defend them when we paid to have them for the day. An easy fix to this would be a small sign saying that the cabanas are reserved on the way over to that area. Nobody wants to get up after they've found a seat and it puts everyone in an awkward situation. Another small thing was that it was early when we arrived... around 10:30am so I walked downstairs and went across the street for a couple coffees. When one of the servers came by to ask if we wanted our complimentary snacks yet, I said after I have coffee we will order closer to lunch time. He then politely reminded me that it was no big deal, but there was not outside food or drink allowed at the pool. That's not a problem, but everyone around the pool in the morning had coffees. The the cabana next to us had sandwiches from Sanguich and other people had whole bags of food throughout the day so if it's not a policy you enforce, why make me feel like an idiot for bringing in a coffee. They actually seemed very eager to get us to order our snacks and were confused that we wanted to not have them at the same time. Once we finished with the snacks and were finished with lunch, they never really came back to check on us. It was like getting the snacks fulfilled their obligation to the cabana or something. We were there for 9 hours and planning to have some afternoon cocktails, but decided to skip it since nobody came by for probably the last 4 hours of our visit. Sorry for the rant, just felt like sharing those things because they were a little off putting, but honestly the day was amazing and we had a great time. read more

My review applies to the pool area and roof bar. We came here for a day with the family. We bought pool passes so the kids could play in the water and the adults could relax. The staff remembered a few of us from a visit a year ago and welcomed us back. They did a great job taking care of us all day long, from getting us set up in the deck chairs with towels and waters to taking food and drink orders and clearing the plates, etc. The water and pool area were impeccably maintained as were the roof bathroom/changing areas. It felt spa-like. While the food and drinks were a bit pricey, the top-shelf service more than made up for it as the staff made us feel very special. read more

The Lowe's Hotel off of Ponce De Leon in Coral Gables is truly a superior hotel that has excellent accommodations and staff that help ensure everything runs smoothly. The hotel has only been in operation at this location for about two years, as the building is relatively new. From walking into the modernized lobby, where you're greeted and assisted at the concierge desk, to seeing the vast lounge seating areas with the Americana Kitchen situated at the far end, you know you're in for a high-class experience. The pool area is posh on the ninth floor. They have a great fitness room. The views of Coral Gables and the surrounding areas are great from the high floors. The food is delicious, and the drinks are delightful -- despite being on the pricier end of hotel rates. Even the weird Mickey Mouse/Maus-like statues at the front courtyard of Americana Kitchen are cool. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, including those across the street, with the Miracle Mile approximately 10 to 15 minutes away. If you're looking for alternative options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Loew's is conveniently located near the Plaza and offers several options that I took advantage of during my stay. Our room had a corner view of downtown Coral Gables from the ninth floor, featuring a comfortable king-sized bed and practical closet space, complete with two bathrobes for our use. My wife was very jazzed about the bathrobes. Additionally, I enjoyed the blue-gray, cloth-linen chair, which was comfortable and provided an alternative to lying on the bed or sitting at the desk. The desk area was comfortable, as I worked remotely during my stay, and I had easy access to the hotel's WiFi, which allowed me to attend to my projects and take video calls. The bathroom is sleek and sophisticated, with a spacious toilet area and a walk-in shower with a clear-paneled door. The faucet is closer to the door, so when you first turn on the shower, you won't get wet from the shower head, which is situated deep enough in the stall that you can't determine the proper temperature. Very magical. Moreover, the bathroom's lighting features a sink mirror area that strikes the perfect balance between soft and hard, with a make-up mirror that allows for a closer look at your face and has its own built-in light. Additionally, the overall lighting is well-executed. If you have both sets of lights off, you still have a soft night light in case you wake up in the middle of the night and need to use the bathroom. The counter space is also spacious, with shelving for towels and the hair dryer, as well as room to store your and your spouse's toiletries and cosmetics. The experience was grand at the Loew's. If I wanted to do a staycation in Coral Gables the next time, instead of just working remotely as my wife has a conference, this hotel easily fits the bill. read more

First time staying here and I am not impressed. The location is fantastic. Lots of shops and great restaurants within walking distance. The hotel and rooms are nice. The rooftop pool was just OK. The carpet in the halls looked old and dirty. The cushions on the lounge chairs were all dirty and had stains on them which looked nasty. Had dinner at their restaurant American Kitchen 2 times. The first night the food and service were good, but not the 2nd time. Service was not sloooow and the restaurant was empty, coffee was awful and the napkin was full of holes. My husband and I stayed here last weekend for the Miami GP. This was my fifth visit to Miami and my first time staying in Coral Gables. It took us about 25 minutes to get to the airport. The lobby is very beautiful, modern, and open. We were promptly greeted and assisted by the front staff to check in. They seemed genuinely friendly and eager to help. Our room was located on the 14th floor and we never had to wait long for an elevator. Our room was large and spacious! Definitely the largest room we stayed in during our trips to Miami. The bathroom has a large vanity with plenty of lighting, even a little nightlight so you don't need to turn on the lights if you get up in the middle of the night. The shower was large and lots of hot water. There's a large TV with chrome cast so you can connect your device and watch whatever you need, a mini fridge, some waters, and larger waters and snacks for purchase. There a large closet with a safe and plenty of hangers. The bed was large, comfortable, and perfect for catching up on your Zzzzs. We had a view of the courtyard/roof from our room. The next thing I had to do after settling in was grab lunch and check out the rooftop pool! It was lovely and the perfect way to start the weekend. They provide pool towels and sunscreen which is awesome. Phineas Rooftop Bar is the Latin themed restaurant by the pool. The food was delicious and the drinks too. Yum! They have conference rooms, a fitness center, spa and another restaurant/bar downstairs. We enjoyed our breakfast in the Boardroom and it was delicious! The staff was attentive and friendly. They also have small bottled water and a water refilling stations, which is always great in my book. There are various restaurants and places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. We wanted to check out the crepe place, but didn't have too much time. I would say that it took about 45 minutes ? to get to Miami Beach/Miami Gardens during the race weekend. All in all, a wonderful stay. Wouldn't mind returning here again to escape NJ! read more

We stayed at the Lowes Coral Gables this past weekend...here are my thoughts: The good: -Everyone is super friendly and helpful. -The room was beautifully appointed and clean. -Hotel grounds are gorgeously maintained. -Hotel restaurant is nice and the food is pretty good. -Pool isn't large but it's nicely shaded and we had a great couple of hours there. The not-so-good: -We weren't able to check in until closer to 5pm due to inventory but they were nice enough to come our coffee as we waited so it wasn't a big deal. -Spa is just okay...I had a pedicure and it was fine but certainly not worth the price. The spa is also freezing cold so it was a bit difficult to enjoy the experience. -Check your bill closely because we were charged for things we shouldn't have been charged for. Overall our experience was great and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again. read more

As soon as I walked in I was profiled and asked immediately if I was at the right place. Understandably so as I was dressed a bit differently than other guests but I was performing a service for a friend so I was dressed casual. All I will say is this, from a service perspective I have never felt more embarrassed and belittled than here by the way the staff looked and addressed me compared to my peers who were also doing services here throughout the week. I genuinely wasn't going to leave a review until one of the men in the lobby that worked there addressed me the way he did when I was leaving and asked if there was a style I was trying to achieve because of how I wore my shirt. I then told him yes it is, I then repeated to him why is he asking that. For him to then say that its just interesting and began to chuckle as he walked away and went go back to his coworkers who were all looking at me as he approached me. Loew's is supposed to have a certain level of hospitality but its apparent this location doesn't. Please find the time to train your staff on how to address guests appropriately. Im rating it 5 stars because everything else was beautiful and is obviously a very well thought out location and undeniably beautiful. The hospitality just left a very sour taste in my mouth, I unfortunately don't think I would stay here because of my interactions. read more

This was a 5-star experience for a 4-star price. The rooms were a nice stay and nicely appointed. Overall, very comfortable. The hotel itself is clean and really well-designed. Beautiful lobby and downstairs restaurant that is open to the outside plaza area. I love that the Loews is part of the Plaza complex which has lots of restaurants in the complex - it makes it easy to not have to leave. But, most of all, the service was 5-star. Everyone from the valet, to the bell stand to the front desk to the concierge were absolutely amazing. They all were truly friendly, had smiles on their faces and went above and beyond. The little details were truly special like giving my 2-year old daughter a teddy bear to getting her strawberry water because the water for all hotel guests hadn't been put out yet. And, the valet is super easy. I would order the car via text message and it would be waiting for me. I could come 15 to 20 minutes later no problem and just get in the car and go. I had never stayed at a Loews before, but I will definitely be back! read more

THIS HOTEL CONTINUES TO IMPRESS - DESERVES 10 OUT OF 5 STARS! My husband and sister coordinated a special 50th birthday surprise trip for me to Miami, and booked our stay here at Loews. From the moment we stepped foot onto the property, we were greeted with smiles and given bottled water during our check in. I was also given a box of chocolates since it was my birthday weekend. Peter, Alariya and Edmond are so nice and do their job very well with guest check-in. The entire hotel is just beautiful and the building stands out from the rest. The landscaping is lush and green (almost feels like you're in Hawaii and someplace nice). The rooms are clean with amazing views. Bed is 10/10 and the city views on the 14th floor was spectacular. Gym is nice and has great equipment as well. The cleaning staff are so friendly and accommodating. Lamia stands out, and was so attentive and always greeted me with a beautiful smile (gave us what we needed to make our stay comfortable). The pool staff, Brandon, was so accommodating and eager to please with anything we needed (towels and all). The next morning, I stopped by the front desk and was greeted by Kayla (with Concierge). She went above and beyond and definitely made my 50th birthday so special and memorable. She sent a bottle of Proseco and treats to celebrate my milestone birthday. I even received a personalized and sweet card signed by all the staff. One even said "I love you!" My husband and I are so touched with the gesture, and I will never forget my 50th birthday at this special property. My brother-in-law also celebrated his birthday, a few days after mine. We celebrated at the bar and stayed up until 12:01 am. Jairo and Kayla (both bartenders) took excellent care of us. We asked for a candle, so he could blow it out and make a wish. Kayla came back with a slice of chocolate cake and a lit candle! Wow! That was the icing on the cake (no pun intended:). But definitely a sweet and memorable moment to remember as well. My husband, sister, brother-in-law, and I have a new love for Coral Gables, particularly for this Loews property. If you are looking for a luxurious and safe place to stay in Miami, come here to Loews in Coral Gables. This property has the nicest staff of any hotel we've stayed at in the US. We've stayed at many other 4 stars and up hotels and resorts. Whoever is in charge of hiring the staff for this property, has done a fantastic job! The staff also looks out for one another and doesn't take credit themselves. They make it known that it's a team effort working at the property. We've been to South Beach many times in the past, and honestly we were going to go down there during our trip. But it turns out there is so much to see and do, in Coral Gables. If you stay at Loews, you'll definitely feel safe and secure. There are great restaurants, bars, coffee and dessert shops all within walking distance. Definitely go to CVI.CHE 105 across the street for an amazing happy hour! Sanguich, next to it, has the best Cubano sandwiches! We ate there twice! Costazul Peruvian Cuisine (10 min walk) has the best Octopus and Peruvian food. Maíz y Agave is a 3 story restaurant, with a cool rooftop bar and dinner was delicious too. There are so many other great places to dine that are close and walking distance to the property. Also, there is a free trolley (with air conditioning) that runs 6 days a week. It will drop you off at the outdoor mall that is just 5-7 minutes away and bring you back. There are lots of nice and high end shops if you need any shopping therapy ladies. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff that make the property so special. Management, I hope you recognize these people because they are the reason why we would come back to your property. So this sums up our first, and won't be our last trip and stay at Loews in Coral Gables. If you can, please stay here. You won't be disappointed. read more

My stay at Loews Coral Gables deserves a review. Here it goes. Prelude: Flight delayed by a couple of hours and my cab driver can't find the hotel. In his defense, I think the venue is so new, it's not showing up on several GPS systems. I even put it in my phone and Waze couldn't find the venue either. We could see the exit but never the entrance so my cabby who was tired of circling (my fare doubled ) went down the do not enter to get me to the hotel. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a wonderful scent as soon as the doors opened. It smelled like clean luxury. I wish I knew how they did that. Everyone is beyond courteous and helpful. I'm guided to the reception area where I'm greeted by Arabdula (I hope I'm spelling her name right). She was very pleasant and tried her best to find my non-existent reservation. I'm not sure if it was sleep deprivation or just pure human error and I didn't finalize it correctly, but my reservation is no where to be found. They can find my customer profile but no reservation. Getting back-up assistance from Benjamin, I was given water and a chance to take a break while they attempted to find my reservation. Unable to, Benjamin was able to accommodate my original booking request and got me set up to go as I had to get ready for a wedding that was starting in a few minutes. I get to my room and I'm happy with my room - it's so beautiful, clean and just like the pictures. I slept well, enjoyed my showers and the views from my room. I enjoyed room service throughout my stay and every single employee I encountered was beyond pleasant. My flight wasn't scheduled until the evening of my checkout day but of course Benjamin was very accommodating and extended my check out time. Even as I waited, Abraham helped me with checking my luggage while I dined at Americana Kitchen and hung out in the lobby. He was very helpful and an absolute delight to meet. I know this hotel just opened a few months ago, but I promise I see nothing but success for the hotel with these valuable employees and their commitment to excellent customer service. read more

Edited to 5 stars as they were super responsive and gave me a very prompt refund. The hotel is gorgeous and we've had a great experience all around. Fatima at the spa was lovely!!!! 5 stars for her, however, I was charged $200 for my pedicure being gel removal and added gel polish with some extras. I was put under the UV light which is the purpose of gel Polish not needing to dry. I returned back to my room and took a nap, woke up to realize the Polish was gummy and absolutely not gel Polish at all. I've contacted management and hope to have this issue resolved when the spa opens. Kate and Fatima were lovely and I cannot stress that enough, but the products offered were absolutely misleading which I do not blame the employees for. Looking forward to fixing this issue and revising my review. read more

I had a exquisite experience at this beautiful hotel for a girls weekend. Nestled in a quiet area of Coral Gables, this Loews brand hotel did not disappoint. Walking in it is such a gorgeous hotel! The bar and restaurant are located on first floor lobby. The front desk was extremely friendly and checked us in quickly. Our room was located on the 9th floor. This floor also was where their pool and pool bar was located. The room was excellent!! Lots of a space, a large balcony & included a super comfy robe. We dined at the bat at Americana the restaurant on site and really enjoyed our meal. All of the staff was very helpful! I will definitely be back in the future if staying in the area. read more

A friend took a few of us over to the hotel for happy hour at their bar/restaurant on the main floor. The hotel is located inside the recently developed Plaza in Coral Gables. The bar area is open to the street and beautiful landscaping all around. Service at the bar is excellent, their specialty drinks are very unique. Everything we ate was fantastic! There's a nice mix of business people, tourists and people from the neighborhood. I've been back several times because I really enjoy the atmosphere, it's brand new, so it's not crowded - yet! I stayed here and got two rooms for me and my sons through Amex's fine hotels program. They treated me like I was lucky to be there the entire time. The restaurant and bar are terrible and are dealt with in a separate review, but apart from that the hotel isn't that nice, the "upgraded" room was just a standard room, the water in the room is just so-so and doesn't get hot enough. They shut off my internet service earlier today. I booked an expensive spa service this morning and nobody was there. Amex said that the manager would try and contact me, but nobody ever did. There's also an unannounced $25/room/day charge on top of the bill that they don't tell you about until you check in. Avoid. read more

Beautiful new hotel in the heart of Coral Gables. Service was unfortunately not so great. The pool bar closes at 6:30 pm though by 6:00pm u can only order beer and wine, since staff cleans up early so they can be ready to leave right at 6:30 (per the manager). Gratuity is included for one person and one drink at the bar not including poolside delivery. For two persons expect the same including overpriced wine by the bottle. You'll spend less on 4 glasses of wine compared to a bottle. Service at the restaurant bar was just as scarce. On a slow Sunday evening, you can order drinks and apps and not expect the bartender to check back with you for anything else over two hours. Such a beautiful hotel but the wait staff unfortunately takes away from a great stay. read more

We bought day passes for the pool because my boyfriend and I had the day off and we live in the neighborhood , it was such a bad experience. When we got to the pool area they asked us if we were guest straight off the bat lol and I said no we have pool passes and the girl completely ignored us, then we got our chairs and towels ourselves and the same girl comes up to us and tells us "those chairs are for hotel guest only" that we had to reserve a cabana, mind you the pool wasn't busy at all it was Wednesday early afternoon. So we moved to other chairs and they took forever to come back and take our order so I had to get up and order at the bar. The whole time they made us feel out of place and it was completely uncomfortable.They promote themselves as a high end experience but they definitely need to train their staff. You're better off going to the biltmore pool, the service their is excellent. read more

My fiance, a couple of friends, and I went on Friday, April 7, around 7 pm to drink at the Americana Bar for a few hours and then walked home. The following day, I realized I did not have my credit card on me, so I called the hotel to make sure they had it so I could go pick it up. I called all weekend and Monday. I spoke with the hostess, who said she'd find out and call me back. I spoke with another employee who said she would check with security and call me back. I left voicemails. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK, and the rest of the times I called, they would not answer my phone call. The following morning, I woke up with almost $1,000 worth of Amazon charges and a $300 charge to "Melina Market" in Hialeah. If the bar team could have just answered me or returned my call and told me, "they don't have it," I could have moved forward and canceled my credit card, or I could have picked up my card because I knew it was left there, seeing as it was the last location I had been at. Either way, this was a complete lack of responsibility and customer service for a luxury hotel. read more
