Within 5 minutes w/ Gabe, he was able to show me three concrete things that I could work on to improve my technique and reduce the risk of injury. My swing has literally never looked like it has in the picture -- now I know what to strive for each time I practice. After about 10 days of working on those things, I feel like I'm improving and, more importantly, I'm able to work on things without injury. I think the most helpful thing for me were Gabe's explanations about why those things (trail arm hinge, hip rotation, extension) were so important to building a solid foundation and avoiding further damage to my elbows. He also emphasized the importance of feeling uncomfortable when working on new things, which I think we all intuitively understand but don't make a priority in our regular practice. Looking forward to working with Gabe again when I'm back in the city -- in the meantime I plan on hitting him up for virtual lessons. Added bonuses -- the Five Iron location is super nice and the technology and equipment they have there are top notch. I never used an indoor simulator outside of lessons but my friends and I had a great time playing horrible simulated golf :)

This is possible because Gabe has the teaching and playing experience to coach you in all aspects of your game, whether it's course management or building confidence around your shots. Gabe has elevated my awareness of my own swing and helped me stay committed to making long term swing changes. Like many golfers starting out, I still struggle with the basics like consistent contact, club face control, and release. No instructor can transform your swing overnight, but TRUST he will give you the right things to work on and many ways to work on them. As a result, I am making solid contact with the ball more frequently, have 15+ yards in distance per club, and am hitting straighter shots. Most importantly, Gabe will teach you how to be your own coach. Working with Gabe over time has given me the tools to diagnose and straighten out issues in my own swing even on a day when "I just can't seem to hit the ball." It has also taught me to consume the myriad golf content I encounter online with a critical eye. I know what I need to work on thanks to Gabe, and any of the bad rounds I shoot now and going forward would not be for a lack of excellent instruction. If this is helpful context, I picked up golf in 2020, have mediocre natural hand-eye coordination, and am not a particularly quick learner. All that is to say that if Gabe can help my game this much in six months, he can most certainly help anyone. There is no one I would rather trust with my swing.

When my wife and I approached the bar, the first question we were asked was whether we had a reservation. There wasn't a greeting beforehand, which set the tone a bit off for us. Shortly after, we were also asked where we were from. It wasn't clear whether that meant nationality or if we were local, but the question felt unnecessary in that moment and made us slightly uncomfortable. We ended up speaking with two women who were more helpful and answered our questions professionally, which we appreciated. Still, first impressions matter. Unfortunately, the initial interaction left us not feeling entirely welcome, and because of that, we likely wouldn't return or spend our money here again. Just sharing our honest experience.

The Hack Shack itself is simple, but the TrackMan is excellent, they had all the women's clubs I needed. The large private room made starting a new sport feel much less intimidating. I figured this was the perfect time to try it out. What i wasn't expecting was an additional $29 fee for using the bay. Plus tax and then being asked to leave a tip. I definitely wasn't expecting to pay that much on top of a promotion for a complimentary session. On the positive side, the people working there were really nice and welcoming. I really appreciated that club rentals were included. I tried out the different games that they had in their virtual screen. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, but i just wish they told us about the additional fees and had been a little more transparent upfront.

After a few swings Marc was able to diagnose the main issue with the swing and make the proper adjustment. They were able to work through irons, driver and sand wedge within the hour and he is excited to put the revamped swing to use on the course. He also particularly loved the screen that you hit into and the type of data you are able to derive from it (angle of contact, open vs closed club face, etc.). It was easy to see how the adjustment translated into better data and better contact. Now he is excited to put what he learned to use on the course.

I met with Marc five times, one hour each time. He can always easily pinpoint the problem in my movements, give me instructions to improve and spend a lot of time letting me repeat and build my consistency. I cancelled the rest of my sessions and asked for a refund. Ahmed gave me a refund BUT he insisted on charging me for the session that put me in Lenox Hill Hospital! He's a man of no honor.
