Push Lab Fitness workout area!
Nick E.

Found out about push labs via ClassPass. First time I went right after Christmas break, my instructor was Rick Lau for Lower Body Core. This class was intense(in a good way) and really pushed me both mentally and physically. I was very sore after this class due to all the new exercises Push Labs had me doing, especially my core. Second and Third times I went for Total Body with Ahmed Mohamed. These classes were equally as intense and push your body to the limit. They remind me of the workouts I used to do for Ice Hockey and use everything from ladder drills to TRX, to weighted training. Ahmed and Rick are both very nice and motivating at the same time. Their classes are small in size and give you personal attention to correct form/ motivate you to keep going. They are very technical and really demonstrate their knowledge of fitness and training. Will definitely be back and I would suggest that you try this out to improve your strength and overall physique.

Signed up via ClassPass a month ago, and am now hooked! If you want a solid workout (I like the upper body workouts and the core workouts best) and want to feel great afterwards, try a class with Ricky. You won't regret it and will likely be back for more, too.

Great intensive workouts. Small classes (up to four people) and varied from time to time. Just a good solid workout.

One exercise for a few minutes before moving on to a completely different exercise. The coaches move around abd give pointers. Another plus are there are screens on the wall showing the exercises so if you forget what to do, lose concentration or need a reminder without wanting to ask a trainer it's right there. They don't have many bathrooms so the line gets long after class but that provide towels and massage guns are available. We wipe down what we used after class so it's clean. There is also a water station.

Great functional workout classes, fun coaches! Love the music, very motivating mix. Sometimes I feel like fitness classes don't hit the music vibe just right, but they do really well at F45. It feels a little bit like a blend of "the future" ― since there are screens displaying the right form, etc., but you also get the benefits of in-person interaction with the coaches and the other people in class. Super appreciate that they provide towels and massage guns. I like that there's a simple warmup and cooldown stretch incorporated. Feels very no-bullshit, get-it-done, and positive vibes. Only one single-person bathroom/shower seems a little impractical, but other than that I really had a great experience.

I decided to try EVF for the first time with their EVF class, which was open to everyone. The class was disorganized and overcrowded. The instructor speed-talked when showing us how to do an exercise with good form, and in a room of 30+ people, not everyone could even hear her because the music was too loud. And as people were working out, there were way too many people for her to actually monitor to make sure they are doing everything safely. The complete lack of focus on injury prevention and safety is a deal breaker for me. Instead, their focus is on making you sweat hard with weights to make you think you had a good workout - when in reality, you may not be activating the right muscles and are on your way to worsening your muscle imbalances and injuring yourself. Oh, and here are some extra fun details: -No one is EVER at the front desk. I had to pass by this gym 3 times on 3 different days because I wanted to talk to a human being to ask some questions before I signed up for my first class. They just have a desk there and equipment but no signs of life. Ever. -No one is doing audio checks before a class, so good luck hearing what your instructor is saying -The back office is the only area that seems to be staffed. Their focus is just sales, not about anything else. -The instructors are not knowledgeable in muscle anatomy and will have you doing reps based on time rather than on evenly working both sides of your body - another recipe for injury! This entire gym screams of red flags. Stay away.

I'm a woman in my late 60s & have always been fairly active, but got a bit lazy recently, so I decided if I want to get stronger & fitter as I age, then I need to make the effort...for me! I started with CrossFit Sunnyside just 2 weeks ago & from the friendly welcome on my initial visit for info from Mike the owner to my first few workouts I'm happy I did. Mike & Leo have guided me thus far & there is a genuinely friendly & professional atmosphere in the gym. Everyone is pulling for your success & adjustments can be made to suit your fitness level. I love the idea of the 1:1 for 5 sessions upfront, which helps show what to expect during the classes & assesses what my strengths & weaknesses are & therefore knowing those things I can work to better achieve my goals. Their prices are very reasonable for what's on offer & there are several programs to choose from. I have one more 1:1 session on Monday & looking forward to getting in the team sessions soon. If you're hesitant about starting....or returning to a workout program, whatever age or fitness level you're at....hesitate no more, get in touch with the gym, you won't be sorry!

So it really is great at providing a full body workout! Their instructors are energetic and fun. Note- this is NOT Pilates (megareformer is not pilates). Amenities are good- lots of lockers, bathroom & showers (not all studios i go to have showers). Conveniently located in midtown, not far from the 6 train. This is available on ClassPass! Overall, I will be back.

Other than that, they're pretty similar in that their total body sculpt workouts are pretty good, though they do focus more on abs, glutes, legs by nature of Pilates. The instructor kept it interesting and gave us a variety of moves using most of the components of the megareformer machine. It was a tough workout but in a good way--I thought I'd be pretty fit since I play volleyball 2-3 times/week every week but Pilates has humbled me once again. Form50 has a lot of offers -- 2 pack or 2 week unlimited membership for new clients, various class packs and being listed on ClassPass. Towels are only free for members; otherwise, it's $3 per towel. The facility is very clean and aesthetic too. I also like how there are more than enough lockers, compared to some fitness studios where I feel like I have to scramble for locker space.
