The entrance is located about a 7-8 minute walk from to the Mets Willets Point stop on the 7 train, right as the park as begins after passing Arther Ashe stadium. On a very warm summer afternoon around 2pm the single friendly staff member at the kiosk was able to take our payment ($13 pp), via credit card, and pass us a scorecard and pencil. There were several other groups playing as well, meaning we had to wait a little after several holes for the group in front of us to finish, which didn't take too long. The course itself wasn't anything too fancy, there were some small slopes and water features, though no outright themed obstacles. I agree with some other reviewers that the water looked a bit murky. They had nets to fish out floating balls if they fell in. The course apparently is in proximity to the homes of a couple resident gophers, who make occasional appearances which was amusing. As a golf novice, it took about an hour to play thru with a couple people and I enjoyed it!

My phone was dead and I panicked running over to this golf course. The side door was wide open and some young punk was on the other side gossiping with someone. I stepped two feet in because he didn't hear me shouting to call 911. He finally saw me ( I was standing with my cane, obviously hurt." He puffed out his chest shouting and I said" I apologize for entering but you didn't hear me and there's a badly injured woman " He didn't care and shouted" get out you don't belong in here, it's disrespectful " he slammed the door shut and I shouted again" call 911" he didn't call. Fortunately a woman and her husband saw and they called. That young punk will be paid a visit from Karma and when he does, I hope he remembers how badly he treated people in need. Just an awful awful person.

I am a completely new golfer -- started in mid-August 2022 and have played maybe 10 rounds total…read more I've taken a few lessons which have helped but spent way too much time hacking at the range, locking in bad habits and getting really bad elbow pain in the process. Within 5 minutes w/ Gabe, he was able to show me three concrete things that I could work on to improve my technique and reduce the risk of injury. My swing has literally never looked like it has in the picture -- now I know what to strive for each time I practice. After about 10 days of working on those things, I feel like I'm improving and, more importantly, I'm able to work on things without injury. I think the most helpful thing for me were Gabe's explanations about why those things (trail arm hinge, hip rotation, extension) were so important to building a solid foundation and avoiding further damage to my elbows. He also emphasized the importance of feeling uncomfortable when working on new things, which I think we all intuitively understand but don't make a priority in our regular practice. Looking forward to working with Gabe again when I'm back in the city -- in the meantime I plan on hitting him up for virtual lessons. Added bonuses -- the Five Iron location is super nice and the technology and equipment they have there are top notch. I never used an indoor simulator outside of lessons but my friends and I had a great time playing horrible simulated golf :)

For…read morestarters, I went from scoring in the 100-110 range before working with Gabe to shooting as low as 92 in less than a month. This is possible because Gabe has the teaching and playing experience to coach you in all aspects of your game, whether it's course management or building confidence around your shots. Gabe has elevated my awareness of my own swing and helped me stay committed to making long term swing changes. Like many golfers starting out, I still struggle with the basics like consistent contact, club face control, and release. No instructor can transform your swing overnight, but TRUST he will give you the right things to work on and many ways to work on them. As a result, I am making solid contact with the ball more frequently, have 15+ yards in distance per club, and am hitting straighter shots. Most importantly, Gabe will teach you how to be your own coach. Working with Gabe over time has given me the tools to diagnose and straighten out issues in my own swing even on a day when "I just can't seem to hit the ball." It has also taught me to consume the myriad golf content I encounter online with a critical eye. I know what I need to work on thanks to Gabe, and any of the bad rounds I shoot now and going forward would not be for a lack of excellent instruction. If this is helpful context, I picked up golf in 2020, have mediocre natural hand-eye coordination, and am not a particularly quick learner. All that is to say that if Gabe can help my game this much in six months, he can most certainly help anyone. There is no one I would rather trust with my swing.

Not friendly nor accommodating to children with special needs…read more I am a parent of a child on the Autism spectrum. Today I accompanied my child's class on a school trip to Jib Lanes Bowling Alley. Once we arrived at 10:00 AM. Management refused to open the lanes until every single child was seated. Our school was one of multiple schools in attendance so needless to say that the establishment did not even have enough seating available for the amount of students in attendance. After waiting for over 20 minutes with excited and anxious children, management finally decided to start the machines and open the lanes. After the children were finally allowed to start playing one of the children walked onto one of the lanes and was quickly retrieved and safely escorted back to their seat by school staff. Jib Lanes Management immediately began to scream and shout in a loud and aggressive voice over the public announcement speakers, scaring the children. He began threatening the children, stating that if one more child walks into a lane he would shut down all of the machines and all of the lanes and kick all of the classes out of his establishment.

Loved the addition of the comfortable couches as well and the whole scenery and feeling felt more aesthetic and cool. There is even now monitors that are interactive which you can do all sorts of stuff like track the ball speed hit , distance, etc. The only one thing I have to say is when people are swinging next to you there used to be a big wall to protect from balls or flying objects but now there is none so was kinda worried to be honest in case someone loses grip and the iron goes flying or a ball comes my way when someone was next to me playing. The other climbing gym in the neighborhood didn't teach anything at all and just told her to have at it. This place though takes the time to really show technique and what the kids should be doing to make sure that they are safe and how to have fun. I am hoping she likes it enough to be able to join their afterschool program. So far the staff have been very friendly and professional when I've dealt with them via email or in person. I think this is a good place for a beginner just to try to see what things are-
