This place sucks! The management never returns calls or emails, the pool gate is closed a lot during the pool hours and don't drive around to the back of the building it's full of trash from the other warehouse. The trash sits for long periods of time and the management is wishy washy. The pool is always nasty and the walls are super thin. You can hear people snoring, playing video games and having sex through the walls! Make sure to check this place out really well before signing the lease. read more

The Lofts at Haw River is a great place to live if you don't mind smelling cigarette smoke, marijuana, hearing your neighbors talking at all hours of the night, having neighbors stomp around like they are half elephant and half buffalo, and broken down cars in the parking lot. I terminated my lease four months early because nothing was done to the individuals who decided to smoke in their apartments, which is a violation of the lease and put other peoples lives at risk. I purchased TWO air purifiers for the smoke and marijuana smells and SIX sound machines to drown out my noisy neighbors. When potential residents are taken on a tour, they are shown the model apartment which has all the upgrades and is sound proof. Once you move in, you will get the opposite of what you were shown. You have been warned, if you still choose to live at the Lofts at Haw River make sure to purchase an air purifier and sound machine. read more

I live here currently. Not good! Like I see on some of the other reviews. Horrible management. Cigarette smoke, pot smoke, thin walls, neighbors who are super loud all hours of the night and day, dogs barking all hours of night and day, dogs pee and poop everywhere, hall ways and entrance ways that stink like dog urine and feces. Neighbors dragging leaking trash bags to inside trash areas. Pretty disgusting. Common areas neglected. Pool area out of control. Don't fix problems in the apartments. Payments going up without notice. Overall just a bad place to call home. Sad because it has the potential to be so cool. Definitely need to screen the tenants better. Some tenants really bad. Sometimes this place feels like Section 8 housing. read more

This was an awful living experience...neighbors are awfully loud and dogs bark incessantly...additionally there are trespassers who throw furniture in the pool, people smoke in buildings and allow their pets to use the bathroom just outside the building doors. PLEASE Reconsider moving here! At this point it is a literal health hazard. Yes, the brick walls, high ceilings, and large windows are very pretty, but the cons outweigh the pros. The walls are paper thin and we've heard our neighbors conversations word for word. When our fridge was leaking, maintenance took a look, said "it's your fridge [leaking]", vacuumed up the water and left (it continued to leak for the rest of our lease). Because of the type of building it is, there is a constant musty odor, and no windows in any of the bedrooms. But the true deal-breakers were the mold, and the outrageous price for all of this. I had to throw out our seasonings because there was such a lack of moisture control, many turned solid, and many of my belongings in my closet were covered in mold. read more

I've lived at the lofts for almost a year & moved in well before construction was completed. I will start by saying the office staff is doing the very best they can & I don't envy their positions. Pros: The other apartments in the area all look the same, have no charm & terrible amenities. You are choosing to live in Haw River, & with that comes very little options. In 2020 I toured all of the apartments in the immediate area & none were nearly as nice as these. Pro: You live on the river & it's absolutely gorgeous. You won't be able to walk to any shops & the side walks don't feel safe but the River & the trail that runs along it,is really nice. Pro: The staff will make you feel heard. Linda is the best apartment manager & will go out of her way to accommodate you to the best of her ability. Pro: Very tall ceilings, Stainless appliances & historic beams in the apartments. I love the aesthetic. Pro: The amenities. The gym & common areas have everything for a quick workout & plenty of space to spread out. Con: The noise. I've never lived in a louder community. If you do not live on the top floor you can hear your above neighbors conversations, toilets flush, laundry, kids & animals running, love making & other awful distractions. I could not work from home while living here, because the people on the receiving end of my video calls were complaining that they could hear banging in the background. We lost countless nights of sleep due to our neighbors and they we're actually trying to be quiet. Cons: For whatever reason this community attracts families. It may look like an adult centered community but it is mostly large families. I lived in a unit that faced the pool/river & could hear the screams of children playing at the pool throughout the Summer. The pool is not a peaceful oasis but a playground for children who scream & splash constantly. Tip: As long as you live on the top floor & don't mind misbehaved kids at the pool, you will love this place. We have decided leave & rent a house instead because we couldn't work/sleep from all of the noise. read more

I can't believe I finally found a forum where the negative reviews (the truth) are not removed or buried. I lived at the lofts on haw river in 2023. Horrible air quality. I had an air knight monitor & the TVOC's would skyrocket suddenly every night. The mold smell was disgusting along with constant cigarette smoke and weed. I didn't even bother to use the downstairs as you could hear everything the neighbors did in the bathroom. Management did nothing. I left messages with trivest McNeil almost daily over a month & they didn't bother to reach out. I even had a package stolen out of the mailroom & they did nothing. You can read about that on the BBB site. Repulsive, dishonest management company on and off site. Time and karma will let the truth come to light. read more

They're removing Facebook and google reviews so I thought I'd try here. This apartment complex is poorly built, They had to pay someone to babysit the flood alarms around the clock for weeks to make sure the bottom floor apartments didn't flood. You can hear your neighbors intimate relations, toilets flushing, phone conversations, tv and everything like you're right in the room with them. The floors are no more than 2 inches thick. We literally could not use our bedroom from the day we moved in because the insane lady downstairs was having screaming phone calls and watching tv at all hours. I mean, we never once used that front room as a bedroom ever. There are holes and gaps in the windows that are so large, the apartments are constantly filled with bugs. When your fire alarms start going off at 2 am because the batteries are dying and the ceilings are 18 feet high, don't call emergency maintenance because they won't pick up. Our water was shut off for close to a day once, in BRAND NEW APARTMENTS. Fire alarms go off constantly. You call the office because you haven't slept in three days because of your neighbors kids spilling marbles all over the floor and dragging chairs across the apartment at 3am, they remind said neighbors of the "quiet hours" and don't do a gd thing about it but let it keep happening. I would rather be homeless than live here. read more

LONG POST! In short: AVOID THIS COMPLEX! This place is the absolute WORST! Please don't let the pretty brick fool you. We should have known when we saw resident after resident leaving in droves when we toured and when we were moving in. Some of their concerns were about the paper thin walls, bugs and critters on the lower level apartments, the clueless manager, the quality of the complex going down, lack of response, etc. The last receptionist, Maddie, was always responsive. The current receptionist NEVER answers the phone but is yet always at the desk looking at her phone. She never has an answer to any question. She's just there looking high as a kite. They are wasting money by paying to have someone there when a brick wall would work just as well. They do not keep up maintenance around the complex. They've let mail and packages pile up in the mail room, where they refuse to contact residents to have them pick up their packages. It always smells like marijuana. There is always trash and dog droppings all around the complex. They absolutely don't clean the gym - there's always a bug of some kind, either dead or alive, all around the equipment. Lately, more stink bugs. Birds get in there often, so there's bird excrement on the floor. They do not keep up with the disinfectant wipes, and on the off chance they do, they allow trash to overflow, so there are wipes all over the floor. The trash room in building 108 is always overflowing; they never change any of the air filters in the buildings, so they all smell old and moldy. Our apartment wall leaked every time it rained, and it took at least 10 visits before they actually did something that may have worked. Now, it only leaks when it rains REALLY hard, but the issue isn't fixed. Mind you, this wall has an outlet on it. Maintenance is a joke. They've been in my unit multiple times, leaving the lights on all day, and I reached out to the front office each time. This last time, I was still waiting for someone to return my calls, emails, or messages about the issue through the online portal. I go to the leasing office to address the problem; they've changed managers. No one in the complex would have known that as they did not inform the residents. Of course, the new manager, Cheree, is not in that day. Almost a month passed, and we got a call from the leasing officer, Cheree, saying we had an outstanding water bill. Only THEN, when I mentioned my attempts to contact them, she became aware. She calls me back and says that I need to send them a bill showing that them leaving my lights on made the bill go up. What difference would that make if we travel a lot so the bill would always be relatively low? The point is, this was the nth time this has happened. If they compiled all the times the lights were left on, it would be its own bill. Today, 5/23, I got a notification from my Ring doorbell that someone was at the door. It was maintenance to fix something. I asked them to turn my lights off before they exited my unit. The maintenance person snaps at me, "I always turn the lights out when I leave," and walks away. I left work to come to the leasing office to 1) address his attitude to my simple request and 2) talk with whoever is over Cheree because she clearly has no idea what's happening or how to do anything about it. Yet again, of no help. As a matter of fact, they all looked at me like I was crazy. When my partner finally arrived, same response but no way of addressing my concerns. Simply rants about how they've all known each other and that the other person is a saint. I do not care. Address the issue. We're waiting to hear back from Trivest McNeil from the phone call I made today, 5/23. Cheree apparently can't contact her immediate boss because "she's in Texas" and "we have to go through proper channels." They gave me a number I had already called that went straight to voicemail. If you are okay with a bug-infested complex where the trash is constantly flowing, the paper thin walls, the leasing office being unresponsive - this is the place for you. Otherwise, find somewhere cheaper to live. We CANNOT wait to move. read more
