A very loud pool motor created constant irritating noise , that drowned out sounds of ocean, birds, wind in the palm trees, at the pool , our unit , and all over the complex extending to the beach . Management responses to our numerous frustrating attempts to ask them to fix the motor noise were at first vague and manipulative lies about a plan , and then completely dismissed and denied , with advice at check out to cancel our reservation next year because nothing would actually be done . And rude with eye rolls and lies to my face . There is a stunning view , but with constant noisy workers landscaping, digging, etc, , the constant loud churning motor day and night, management don't seem to understand that simply looking at a view, as if it is a painting, is not why we go to Sanibel Island . It is certainly not why we are willing to pay to stay at their very pricey overpriced beachfront condo ,. Management proclaims they don't go to the beach /pool area , and it shows.

Oceans Reach has undergone such amazing transformations since we started coming. The grove updates, shuffleboard, the pond, the shelling stations etc. We started out staying in building 1 and then quickly found building 4 which has become our go too. We have introduced a lot of folks to Sanibel and always worry that they will find it as amazing as we do. We have stayed in the following rooms which I have kept some notes on: bldg1 - 1C2; bldg3 - 3A3, 3A2, 3B2; bldg.4 - 4D3, 4D2, 4C2, 4C3, 4C4,4 A4, 4A3 The folks at the front desk are always friendly, happy and ready to talk about the resort and the island life that I so long for. The sustainability program that OR has adopted is also such a great thing to tip your hat at. The recycling and efficiency appliances in the units adds to such a great contribution to our society. Each unit is individually decorated and sometime things are a little light in the unit. But somehow, we survive. I love that I can rent the bikes and umbrellas right there at OR and they are ready for me when I get there. The grounds are always clean, well-manicured, and foliage abounds. The addition of the new front desk with bathrooms is great. The building is always well maintained and the housekeeping, maintenance and ground crew are always nice when I stop and chat. I love being about to cook and look out, through the palm trees and see the ocean. The bldg.. 3 and 4 are usually quiet and the families that are there are respectful of that beauty. In fact I have gone for many years in July and have seen these small children grow up and find the peace and beauty that Sanibel offers. I love sitting on the beach and finding respectful people that don't sit to close or in front of your views. I will continue coming to OR and bringing new folks and repeat folks as much as I can.

With that said, Sanibel Siesta on the Beach is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay if you're visiting Captiva Island. The staff is great, and the condos and grounds are excellently taken care of. They have recently rebuilt and renovated some parts after the storm causing some damage. I would come back when I'm back in Florida, and stay here for a 3rd time if I can! I'm so sad the Starfish Grill closed down, that was such a good place to dine at, on site!

SANDALFOOT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY AND VIOLATES THE ADA…read more My family and I stayed here for the last 4 days. I am elderly and recovering from a recent hip operation. On the second day, we were informed that the elevator was broken and they didn't know when it would be fixed, which is an ADA violation. Then they told us it was fixed and safe to use, only to then reveal (after we and others had been using it) that it wasn't actually fixed and could "stop at any time". Our rooms were on the third floor and they didn't not offer us a room on the first floor until we brought up the fact that it is incredibly dangerous for me to be using stairs (and also an ADA violation), and when they did, it was only for me so I was separated from my family which is dangerous if I fell. My family had to help me down 3 flights of stairs, which was incredibly stressful. We received no empathy from staff. It is illegal to not provide safe exit routes for ALL tenants. The fact that we had to tell them that in order for them to begrudgingly offer us a room on the first floor is ridiculous and disappointing. The incompetent support team was very dismissive and disrespectful to my granddaughter. They even suggested that she sign a waiver saying that SHE would be personally responsible if anyone was trapped or injured in the elevator. That would not hold up in any court and is an absolutely despicable thing to suggest. They acted like I was an inconvenience. It put a huge damper on what should have been a lovely family vacation. Aside from the very illegal waiver they asked us to sign, undignified disrespect and general incompetence (their customer service is outsourced and does not communicate with hotel staff), they locked us out of our rooms before check-out time and didn't offer any kind of compensation for their carelessness. They also gave us a whole list of chores to complete before leaving which wasn't explained to us upon arrival. Their site should be more transparent about them expecting tenants to perform their own housekeeping. If you are elderly, disabled, or simply want to be treated kindly, please avoid this place. 0/100

I will say it's a bit pricey, but it was Memorial weekend and you are literally on the water. Not sure what the off season rates are but there's a 3 night minimum. The condos are fully furnished and equipped with all your needs. They even had beach chairs, beach towels and coolers available. The bathrooms were a bit grungy and outdated. But overall the condos are kept pretty clean. We had unit 3D3 and it was super spacious. Parking was right out front. There are several local markets in the area to stock up on food,albeit a bit pricey. I recommend you stop at publix before entering island. If ever in Sanibel again, I will definitely book my stay here.

This trip the dryer in our condo was squeaking badly, but the office was quick to get in touch with the owners and get it fixed within a couple days. The path to the beach is beautiful and the beaches are excellent. It is right next door to a public beach that has a great playground for the kiddies. My only issue is a small one, but the condo owners seem to skimp on the internet. Not really in the condo during the day, but at night as soon as one kid hops on YouTube it takes any other device five minutes to load google. It is irritating, but there is no place I would rather stay in the island!

Parking is abundant, that includes covered and uncovered parking areas. The pool area is very nice as well with a screened in bar area for drinks, and a hot tub off to the side as well. They also have gas grills available for people that would like to eat in, they aren't the best grills ever but easily get the job done. The resort has 3 "paths" to walk down to the beach which is about a mile and half from the light house. Also the resort office has umbrellas available to rent, a small reading library, and movies available as well. Some things I'm not overly crazy about but they don't really ruin the experience is that the hot tub is way too hot to enjoy if you are there during the summer months. I could see in the winter time it being refreshing but during the summer months they should turn the temperature down on the water. While the resort does have free wifi, the coverage is not very good. Most of the walking paths are gravel so if you are going barefoot you had better toughen up them feet. Overall staying here is a very enjoyable experience and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay while on the island.

We stayed in Captiva, and then West Middle and East gulf rentals. We discovered we are East gulf people, and love this low-key middle sized resort! Two story 8 unit buildings are sprinkled around the beautiful landscaping, giving it a real European village vibe. I could swim laps for an hour in the heated pool, even on a unusually cold rainy day . My husband and I bike the back bike trails to the Lighthouse point and Wickies and Gramma Dots restaurants and shopping. An easy walk to Dante's restaurant and a little island tiki bar nearby, it has provided the best of every world for us. Love hearing the waves and fresh breeze in the morning from my bedroom balcony, and I also enjoy a living room balcony, the units are all individual, something for everyone, and it's located south of the Causeway so you never get caught in periwinkle traffic leaving the island for more adventures.

The resort is small which is wonderful because you don't have to worry about over crowding at the pool, on the beach or parking and no worries of not having enough chairs or umbrellas to use. The resort has beautiful landscaping and appears well taken care of. The pool area is very nice and offers plenty of chairs in the sun and the shade. The pool was kept very clean and they had floats and noodles for guest to use. The grilling area offers 2 nice gas grills. The area was nice, clean and the grills were kept in great shape. There is a pickle ball court to use. The walkway to the beach is nice, excellent condition and has a foot wash off as well as a shower. The resort provides chairs and umbrellas for the guest to use. This place was fantastic, it had everything a group of gals could need for a week of sand, surf, and sun. The condos at Pointe Santo are individually owned, therefore they are not all available for rent. We rented through Sanibel Holiday and were lucky to score a top floor unit. The unit itself had ALL the amenities of home. A fully applianced kitchen, washer/dryer, two bedrooms (slept up to 6), two bathrooms, dining area, living room with flat screen television, screened-in lanai, and since we were on the top floor... private rooftop access!! The view of the grounds from our outdoor space was gorgeous. 360 degrees of palm trees, beach, and open sky. Air conditioning and ceiling fans provided a sanctuary from the July mid-day heat. The grounds are impeccably maintained. Amenities abound... --Heated Pool and Jacuzzi (with adult swim times!) --Free Wi-Fi, easy-to-access and quick speeds --Community BBQ grills --Clubhouse that sells smoothies, ice cream, and other goodies --Dedicated parking spaces for each unit --Bicycle Racks, Tennis Courts, Shuffleboard, Kids Activities Two of my favorite things about this complex included the on-site lagoon as well as direct beach access. There is nothing better than waking up in the morning, eating breakfast on the roof overlooking the palm trees swaying in the island breeze surrounding the lagoon, then throwing a suit on and walking directly out to the beach. It made catching sunrises/sunsets, wildlife, and a great spot on the beach a breeze! There are complimentary lounge chairs at the pool and the beach, a station to wash off sand from shells (and yourself!), a even a beach volleyball court. As with the rest of the island, the grounds were full of wildlife - I spotted turtles, dolphins, rabbits, lizards, and all varieties of bird within steps of my front door. The unit has multiple opportunities for improvement. The decore is old, the rugs are stained, the layout is awkward and the second bathroom almost inaccessible. You'd have to be the thin man to get in. The oven and cooktop are old and do not work well. The kitchen is minimally stocked. The knives as dull, the cookware worn and so on. But my biggest pet peeve was with the giant light fixture hanging over the cooktop. All it did was accumulate grease and get in the way. The AC is a two ton unit, the condo is 2100 sq feet. It was very warm in the unit. I have never rented in Point Santo before dispite having been to Sanibel many times. If A37 is the best they have to offer I won't be renting there again. After some of my valuables went missing, all the operator could tell me was that the cleaning service saw nothing, heard nothing, knew nothing, and refused to put me in touch directly with them or Ryan Block. I have now left the rental without my items and without any contact from Block. The houses are stunning but be prepared for the runaround if you rent. Very, very poor communication and management by Ryan Block and staff. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Update: immediately after posting this review I got the attached voicemail from Ryan Block.

I paid over 250 dollars for a cleaning fee for a one bedroom condo for two nights, ($184 cleaning fee, $50 damage fee whatever that is, and $25 enhanced cleaning fee) so if the one star review was about taking out the trash or the minimal, normal cleaning that the condo needed after our departure that was more then covered. My family and friends come to Sanibel every year and will not be staying at any properties managed by Dream Vacation Rentals anymore. I do not appreciate the unwarranted review or the lack of communication which seems to be the theme of a lot of the reviews on here. If you are a property owner you might want to choose a management company that doesn't drive off customers for literally no reason.
