I had beef neck sous-vide with a lager. The beef was accompanied by a poached egg, bread dumplings, and a dill sauce. I was expecting something heavy, but it wasn't. It was really excellent. We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

We are early diners and the only couple near us were also Americans on holiday. Our server spoke excellent English and guided us through the menu choices. After an appetizer of tomatoes and cucumbers in a light dressing, I ordered the sirloin in cream and my wife the trout filet. The food, like the service, was superb. Our server surprised us with a complimentary "shot" of a very strong Czeck liqueur at the end of the meal. we had a grand time and hope you will too!!

Nonetheless, I entered and hope for an escape from the unforgiving sun on that day. The staff seated me at one of the booths and after I requested some information explaining the menu and what's popular, they were more than happy to assist. They even explained some local etiquette and so on which was perfect for a visitor like myself. I decided to try out their Pickled Cheese as an appetizer. The cheese, paired with the onion salad and bagel was great. I really didn't know if I was eating it correctly but still delicious. For the main course, my waiter recommended a Schnitzel with potato salad. Just to get it out of the way, but the potato salad was almost better than anything I've had in the United States. I thought we were doing it right until I spent one day in Prague. The Schnitzel was also delicious. Perfect with the salad, the provided a blend of flavor and substance I desperately needed. All in all, this place was a great experience in Prague. The staff could not have been anymore nicer as I left with an itinerary on what to do during my time in Prague. The food and service were great. Don't be fooled by the location and stop by if you're in Old Square.

We ordered the meatloaf, fried cheese, and plenty of Czech beer. The food was delicious, fresh, and came out quickly. The Czech beer was fantastic--so smooth and easy to drink that you barely realize how many liters you've had! The dessert wasn't really my thing, but everything else was excellent. Service was outstanding. The servers were friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient even with the restaurant buzzing with people and the game on. The vibe is what makes Lokal so special--lively, casual, and quintessentially Czech. If you're in Prague and want great food, excellent beer, and a fun local atmosphere, this is a must-visit.

If you are looking for a very lively place that seats about thirteen hundred guests per day and has twelve tanks of beer, and the beer hall vibe then this spot is most certainly for you. Close to the Old Town square it is not at all touristy, the service is good and the prices are very fair for what you get. K ordered the Goulash, and I had the Chicken Schnitzel along with a beetroot salad to share. The food was plentiful and very good, especially the goulash gravy which was a deep colour that had amazing flavour. The schnitzel was not as big as the plate, but I couldn't finish it. K had a glass of wine and I a beer for about $64 CDN, which is good in Prague. Our only quibble was that the beetroot salad turned into a cabbage salad with horseradish. It was also good, but not what we ordered. We would most certainly come back and endure the half hour wait to experience and enjoy what is a somewhat unique European offering.

The restaurant is featured in the Michelin guide and features a chef's counter. The restaurant is a good 10 minute walk from the metro. There is a bus/tram stop in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is located in a quiet neighborhood and was slightly hard to find. Started off with the homemade bread with butter. I found the bread dry and lackluster. It was interesting that the waiter claimed that the bread made in house daily when I saw one of the cooks cut up prepackaged store-bought bread... Opted for the tripes as a starter per the recommendation from the waiter. I was slightly surprised that such a dish could appear in a fancy restaurant. The waiter reassured me that this was a popular Czech dish. The tripes were fine although I found the dish a touch lacking with a ton of thousand island squirted on the dish? I did find the dish a touch salty ... as with most dishes in Prague. ..maybe it's cultural Moved on to the smoked pork tongue as the main. It was my first time having pork tongue and this tasted more like a sausage. I'm not sure what was with the saltier cream sauce that complemented this dish as it looked fine but the flavors were again on the saltier side... The dumpling I found to be quite dry and boring. Ended off the meal with the panna cotta which may have been the highlight of the meal. The panna cotta was light and served with a couple versions of pear. The ice cream with rum was tasty too.

We got the following and enjoyed every dish: * Deep-fried trout, caramelized carrot sauce, green pea, and lemon mayonnaise * Beef tartar, lovage mayonnaise, egg yolk cream, parmesan custard, smoked almonds, and bread chips * Koprovka, dill sauce, grenaille potato, and egg * Pan-fried duck breast, potato fondant, pulled duck leg, carrot purée, and sea buckthorn * Caramel mousse, condensed milk, caramelized nuts, fresh cheese ice cream The Eatery did a very good job modernizing traditional Czech dishes. For example, the egg that was used in the koprovka was a 62'C sous vide egg for 1 hour, which added a very nice modern touch. Service was attentive, but casual. We felt like we were dining at a good friend's rather than at a restaurant.

It´s one big open space with two floors (upper one is smaller). Service was very good. Staff is friendly, pretty quick and our waitress had a smile for us everytime she came to our table. Thanx to two parts, so there are two kinds of cuisines. Czech one in beerhouse and mediterrian one in restaurant. But you can order from both no matter where you sit. Meals are pretty delicious, We tried mozzarella with roasted pepper salad, couple of kinds of meat in czech style (usually with sauer kraut and dumplings or just potatoes) and couple of things from mediterrian cuisine like risotto with sepia or lamb chops with provencal herbs. Funny thing is that it seemed to me that meals from mediterrian cuisine were better than czech ones. Czech ones were just a better average. I guess they have better cooks from southern european countries that from Czech republic. They have pretty good beer too. Their own. Different kinds. I am pretty sure you will find the one which suits you the best. What I would just remove are some TVs. There are too many of them. It´s a bit pricey. Not the czech part but the mediterrian. But that quality was good so I don´t see that as a issue. I will definitely come back.
