I had an appointment at another salon and 30 minutes before my appointment...they called me to…read morecancel saying that they had a booking error and that they would not be able to accommodate and get me in that day. This was not only frustrating but particularly a big issue since most decent salons are booked up in advance and they are closed on Sundays AND I was leaving for a 2-week vacation on Monday. So I was freaking. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg either. I called a few other salons and of course, nobody could accommodate. I then called Aqua and even though they were extremely busy...they were able to fit me in. I actually explained what happened to the receptionist (seriously love him) and he immediately felt my pain and said that they could get me in right away. so five minutes after calling I was in my car and on my way. My stylist was Holly and she was great. I didn't get a cut, just color, but she did an awesome job at executing what I wanted. She was so gentle and sweet and I will definitely be coming back to see her. Aqua saved the day and I didn't spend any more than I wanted to. Going forward, Aqua will be my new go to salon! Their customer service was on point - again shout out to the fabulous receptionist.

Holly cut my husband's hair. She seemed nice, was chatty at the beginning and end and concentrated during the cut. The wash and cut took about 30 minutes. It also cost $30. Tips have to to be given in cash, rather annoying since I am not one to ever carry around cash and don't want to be paying $3 to use an ATM machine, which is ornamental, as it does not work. The top was nicely trimmed. I did have to clean the sideburn on his left cheek and around his ears on the right side of too. The attention to detail needs a bit of work.

I went to another stylist in Troy that did a less than great job and left patches everywhere. Not only did Angela know exactly what to do to fix it she also used all the same products my stylist back home did which was amazing because I didn't have to go out and buy new products. I've only been to her two or three times so far but I know that I'll be going solely to her as long as I'm living in MI. She is a gem and worth every penny!

I've given Black three shots now because my husband liked it. My first haircut was pretty good, no complaints. The next visit...I decided to get some color done and made an appointment with a different stylist just based on available times. I got a call an hour before my appointment letting me know the stylist was running behind about 10 minutes. No problem. I thought that was very courteous. So I arrived a few minutes late as told, only the stylist wasn't even at work yet. I waited another half an hour for her to show up. I was worried about the appointment going over, but received no apologies when she arrived. The icing on the cake was that the color didn't even take. The stylist didn't charge me for the appointment, which was the one grace of the day. But I wasted 3 hours and still had to make another appointment. And right now, I am sitting at the salon AGAIN waiting for a third stylist, who is also now over half an hour late to work. Now, there's bad luck and there's bad service, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting equal doses at this salon. Customer service just doesn't seem high priority. I'll think about revisiting my star rating after she redoes my color today, but I already feel stupid for even sitting here.

I have very long, thick hair and I am very specific about how I like my color done and blowouts. The problem I was having with every hair stylist was their ego. They did not listen (any of them) to what I expressed that I wanted. They all do opposite of what I ask and do what they think would look nice. Not cool. Tom listens. He is not egotistical. He is very talented. He does not over-book and rush your appointment like the rest all do. He has kept my hair in good health as well. It was a bit damaged when I came to him and he brought my long locks back to healthy shiny locks without having to chop it off. He is also very reasonably priced especially for the time he takes on my visits. I am so grateful to have found him. He is a true artist. You will not be disappointed with his work.
