Lolli & Pops at Memorial City Mall is dangerously cute. The store itself is adorable and the candy quality is top tier you can tell they really care about what they carry. We had a gentleman helping us (sadly didn't catch his name), but he was AMAZING. Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations based on what we like. I was actually on a pretty extreme diet when we stopped in, but between his kindness and the candy calling my name... I somehow spent $30+ no regrets though. I grabbed these cherry chocolates that were basically a fancy, elevated version of Queen Anne cherries in a bright pink package and SO good. They also have a huge selection of gummies made with real sugar (no corn syrup), and they were absolutely divine. The hours were accurate for this location! Also located just outside of the main food court. Good placement. The new 4D gummies are beautiful and surprising. The spicy mango sour gummies are my favorite. The diamond 4D gummies are so pretty. The store is well organized. They also have some fancy treats in a glass sectioned area by the registers. They charge by weight. They also have seasonal candy they'll be pulling out for Christmas like ribbon candy. The store was organized and clean. The staff were available for questions. They also had tubs of cotton candy. Giant selections of gummy worms. Would definitely treat my kid to this shop as a fun surprise. read more

When you walk into a candy shop, you're supposed to have a rushed feeling of nostalgia. I came in on a Saturday when it was extremely busy. The lady who gave out samples said I was able to get free candy if I signed up for their rewards with just my email and it would only take 5 minutes. Why not? She said once I get my email confirmation, I'll be able to get it. Something was going on with their WiFi, so instead of 5 min, I had to wait 20 min. Unfortunately I had to leave to a dinner and she told me I can come back any time to get it. It's a Tuesday night and I came back. The employee said I wasn't eligible when I showed her my email. The manager came by and didn't honor the reward. After showing him my email and several minutes passed. His response was "yeah sometimes it's weird". Several minutes later, nothing. He was swinging the bag of gummies around and did not say anything. I ended up leaving without anything. This location will not be earning my business any longer. There are plenty of places to get candy and I will not tolerate my time being wasted for a bag of gummies. Something so simple could've been easily fixed. read more

The workers were very familiar with what tastes I wanted and directed me to things I've never tried also. It's a plus that they allow you to sample anything before you buy it. I regret having posted such a nice review at this business' opening. I should have known that the "sweetness" (pardon the pun) wouldn't last. Yesterday, I went in expecting the same customer service and magical experience as I had during my first visit, but instead, left with a bitter taste in my mouth- and not from the candy! I went with a friend to purchase some candy and a ginger beer soda. I wanted to share the expense of our purchase, so I asked the cashier, Danielle, to split the charge into two separate transactions. While in total, our items amounted to well over $10, Danielle refused to stamp our rewards card, claiming that each individual transaction must be $10 itself. I remarked, "Well, that's sort of dumb." And Danielle snidely replied, "OH WELL." So much sass. I asked to speak to her manager and she said she was the manager, so I thought and said, "Well, that's GREAT customer service!" And made sure to sound as sarcastic as possible. She replied, "Well, I have a supervisor and she's right over there! Go complain to her." Flabbergasted, I went to the lady that Danielle pointed out, and told her of my experience. The supervisor was dumbfounded over Danielle's behavior and grabbed the store manager, Jason, as well. He apologized sincerely and even stamped my card a couple of extra times. While that was a nice gesture, it does not change the experience. I walked by the store earlier today as well, craving a ginger beer soda. It's ashamed that this is the only store in the mall that sells it, because I saw Danielle still behind the cashier counter, and I felt compelled to just keep walking. I needed a gift and this place looked fantastic. The staff was friendly and pretty helpful. Thus the two instead of one star. I ended up not being able to give that gift. It went in the trash. Read on... I love good chocolate and I am willing to pay for it. I got two of the chocolate bars as gifts-- one birthday and one cereal bar. They sounded so good that I ended buying a cereal bar for myself. They were $10 a pop, so I (dumbly) assumed they would be pretty darn good chocolate. Was I ever surprised. The white chocolate tasted like wax and the Fruity Pebbles tasted like the store brand my cheap father used to buy. I have lipstick that tastes better. The Macarons. Again, something I don't mind paying dearly for if they're perfectly fresh crispy outside and magically chewy inside. I make these at home and the ones I got tasted like a week old. I am not being facetious. On to the chocolate truffles in the case. Wow! They sure look pretty. I got 4 for a gift in a box and one for myself. Taste was on the same scale as the the chocolate bars. Y'all can't seriously call that chocolate? So waxy, sickeningly sweet and tasted absolutely nothing like the supposed 'flavor'. The price was an abomination as well. 4 for $15. I was so giddy to get into my chocolate on the ride home and ended up having to pull off of I-10 to stop and get a water. It was that bad. If you're a Yelp reviewer that says this place has good candy then you've never actually tasted chocolate I'm afraid. What did I learn from that $75.00 trip? Always read Yelp. Not all expensive chocolate is good. I wasted a lot of calories that day on really sub-par chocolate. Never go into a Lolli and Pops again. read more

I was really excited when this place opened. There is a lot of different variety of candies and snacks. The service is good and everything is so bright and fun. The price however is kind of on the expensive side for some candies and desserts which you can find at any outside store tbh. At least there's free samples, but this is probably a place that i will only visit once in a while or else i'll probably go broke. read more

The candy you grab with tongs are $13.00/lb. but they really are the purveyors of all things sweet- the items range from champagne gummy bears to HUGE Rice Krispie bars the size of an infant to honey sticks. Some of the candy you can most likely find at your local ethnic store (those Asian candies can be found at HK or H Mart and I've seen the Hispanic candies at HEB or Fiesta). However I am taken back in a time machine when I come here!! The aisles are filled with unique items that I had when I was younger so it was definitely like taking a trip down memory lane. They have a little bit of everything and even have a section for beverages, with items like Bacon Soda! This place makes my dreams come true. Here you will find all sort of delicious candy, pastries, and anything sweet in between. On this occasion I went ahead and tried the petit four and the chocolate haystack. I kept wanting to try so many different items but decided not to go overboard. The petit four was very delicious. I absolutely loved it and cant wait to try other flavors. The chocolate haystack was chocolatey and very delicious. Good stuff, but not cheap. Chocolate, truffles, macarons, flavored marshmallows, sweets from Japan, toffee, honey - if you have a sweet tooth, this place has something for it. While it is not cheap, they do seem to have more of an interest in the adult sweet tooth which is nice, but is also why it's not cheap. Service is pretty attentive, but the floor was a bit sticky on my last visit. My feet sticking to the floor is a bigger turn-off than it might be to most, but not as bad as Dylan's was (yet). read more

I first visited a Lolli and Pops in Chicago. It was a tiny little stand and what they had was pretty neat, so when I got home and found out there was a Lolli and Pops so close, I made a point to visit it. This location is a full-fledged store. There's candy on candy on macaron on truffles on soda on candy! I may be a little dramatic, but there are a LOT of sweet treats up in there. They have a good selection of chocolate, Asian candies, Mexican candies, and bulk candies. I will say, the prices are HIGH-IGH-IGH. Ooowee! I'm a huge fan of cotton candy but boy... a little tub was $7.25 even though the flavor was li hing pineapple. I also got a bag of Asian candy and so happen to have to stop by 99 Ranch on my home and saw the same bag for HALF the price. The candy is good though. I would say this is something to come by to visit and maybe get something for the novelty of it all, but I couldn't see myself ever going here regularly for candy unless there was something super specific and exclusive I had to have and they were they only ones selling it in Houston. read more

i really hated this place. it's cute on the outside like all boutiques with plenty of options. you really feel like you're a kid in the candy store. but i was here looking for a gift and opted for those boxes of hand selected truffles/candies in the display case at the front of the store. first thing i noticed was the....lack of intelligence the staff exhibited. our particular staff member was incredibly slow and didn't know what we meant when i said we wanted a half dozen, and when we clarified 'six' he goes OH okay. and then basically asked us how much we should be charged because he didn't know how to add 6 and 9 together. It took him a solid ten minutes to put our order together. second thing i noticed was the PRICE. my god. 15 (6 + 9) truffles rung up ran me short north of $50. I knew what i was getting into seeing the prices of the truffles, but i also noticed some other smaller pieces were running around $7/$8 a PIECE. I'm talking the size of my thumbnail, you guys. Third thing that kind of goes with the price....the chocolates tasted a 2/5 at best (like this review). It reminded me strongly of overpackaged preservative heavy pre-boxed valentine heart candies you get at kroger the day of. some of them tasted so plastic that i didn't want to try the rest of the flavors. I havent tried their other candies and things but based on my experience from their supposedly hand crafted candies, i can't be bothered to give them another shot. it's really cute, yes, but none of it is worth it. read more

Honestly I've heard that cooperate gets involved to much. I've never worked there, but I've heard things while shopping. I think that their corporate operations need to match the work staff. Everything is super expensive and all the stuff in the front case is previously frozen and gross. Macarons are usually $1.50 elsewhere. L&P charges $2.80 apiece and they were stale! So, I have been to the store quite a few times. I was there their opening day at Memorial City Mall. The staff on the floor is very friendly. They can are very knowledgeable on the bulk candy sections and can generally help you find what you are craving. Unfortunately, they haven't tried most of the wrapped candy bars -- especially, the international candy bars. As this store is still fairly new, I hope that this will change in the future. This store is incredibly expensive. There is a $2 German chocolate bar at Aldine's that sells for $6.50 here. That is an incredible mark up. I think that a 100 Grand sells for about $4. So the candy bars tend to be marked up 2 to 3x the price of other stores. They have a rewards program. You have a punch card and once you get 10 hole punches, you are supposed to get $10 off. After about 2-3 months, I finally was going to fill my punch card. I was going to buy enough to split the free 10 dollars worth of stuff onto the next transaction. In other words, spend 10 to get the last hole punched and then have the next transaction to get the last 10 dollars worth of stuff free. The cashier wouldn't let me. I was kinda shocked. I thought the cashier seemed smug about not accepting the punch card, but honestly, that could be me being upset. So, I am going to go back one more time on another day and get my free items and I am not coming back again. They are too expensive and won't help you out. read more

Stopped in last week as we were at the mall and I am hooked on chocolate covered cinnamon bears....just bought 5 of them for $2.40, and when I got home I popped one in my mouth. Awful! These were not just old, but they were really, really old. Hard and stale as heck. I called the store to lodge a complaint with the manager so that others would not suffer the same fate. She told me she was off that day (so?) and that they were full and fresh when she returned. I sort of doubt this as the bin was pretty full the day we were there.
