To start, when you arrive, you will ring the doorbell for them to come let you in, which I guess considering the space makes sense. The store front is very tiny, it could fit maybe 6 people fairly comfortably. They do have a speak easy space for their tastings, which is an interesting concept, which I'll touch on later. Effectively, they have different unique shapes of chocolate that are liquid filled with alcoholic and non-alcoholic liqueurs. Think licor 43, gin, bourbon, whiskey, tequila, etc. The chocolates themselves are good, there wasn't any that I disliked and I'd say the carajillo was one of my favorites. All that said, I think this can be hit or miss with some folks. I like them, whereas I can see how it has a bit of a flash in the pan type taste. It hits fast and then, that's it.Personally, I can get past that probably and could easily eat 10 in rapid fashion. Where this place loses my attention and where I struggle is the pricing. Value is always subjective and I'm sure some will find these to be well worth their price. For reference, I think it's 4 for $22, 8 for $34, when I recently visited. I just didn't find them to be worth that pricing model, particularly when there are other brands that you can get at a lower price and similar fillings. At the end of the day, I think this is worth it for an experience or date, particularly if you're going to go in for the tasting. Think, wine and cheese, in this case, cocktails and chocolates. It's a speakeasy located behind a chocolate shop that serves drinks and chocolates! It's a very intimate room, dimly lit, with r&b playing all night long. We went on a Friday night (around 11PM) and there was about 10 people there (including our party of 4). All the servers are extremely knowledgable and super kind. You can even see the owner there working and contributing to the vibes. Their cocktails are about $16 so very standard pricing and the chocolates come with a drink. The drinks were tasty, even the Old Fashioned (probably the best one I've ever had). Plus they close even later than described with "no official close time". As our server described, "they close when the vibes die off ... typically around 1AM". So I'll definitely be back and you should definitely check them out. He was very polite and genuinely apologetic, so I wasn't too bummed about it. We Ubered to CASE on a Saturday night to avoid parking issues. It does get a little cramped with everyone waiting for their seating assignments, but we were too excited to care. Once seated, you're brought into a dimly lit room that really sets the mood. The gentleman guiding us through the courses spoke in a low, calm tone that perfectly matched the energy of the space. The restaurant has a tiny front area for check in, and then the restaurant seating is behind a hidden bookshelf. So, when waiting, we had to wait outside on the curb because there were already two people in the chairs waiting inside. Case has an interesting concept where they pair their cocktails with two liquor filled chocolates. I was initially very excited but waiting on the curb for 45 minutes kind of ruined the vibe. They did provide each of us with a free drink once we got seated to compensate us for waiting, but then we didn't even get offered the tasting experience we booked for! Then it was just us ordering drink by drink. The drinks were good but I found the chocolates completely unnecessary. I arrived at 8:00 PM for our 8:15 PM reservation but found the door unattended and my calls unanswered, leading to an unnerving 10-minute wait on the sidewalk. However, once inside, the host more than made up for it by offering delightful samples of Bananas Foster and Mango Chamoy chocolates--amazing teasers for the three courses to come! Before our tasting officially began, we were given a refreshing palate-cleansing drink, which set the stage for the decadent experience ahead.
