Attempted to have carpet stretched and first they said they would honor it and then they did not follow through on their word and tried to say it was because I shampooed the carpet, waited too long to request a restretch. Who buys a couple thousand dollars of carpet and expects it only to last 3 years I ask? First off, Rob thesalesman was great. It was all downhill from there. Had my bathroom retiled and was originally quoted 1500.00, after it was all said and done it cost me around 3400.00. The problem was not so much Lomax, it was the installers working for Lomax. They nickel and dimed me for everything, I have a very very small bathroom and they said I needed 15 sheets of Fiberrock that gets installed behind the tile. Also, the job was was not completed in a professional manner, there are lots of flaws with the install, the grout looks horrible in some places for example. The floor after I was originally told was uneven and had to be repaired is even more uneven now. I could go on and on but I think you get the gist of it. Stay away from Gean the installer from this place, they do not do good work. read more

We are redoing our upstairs/guest bathroom, I finally got my jacuzzi tub but was having a very hard time finding exactly what I wanted at Depot or Lowes. My brother recommended coming here, ironically I drive by this place day but never even thought to stop in. I guess I always thought it was for contractors or bigger projects. When we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile, willing to help us. Just not in a pushy salesman type way. We explained that I was looking for a tile in the gray family that did not come with a pattern or veins. The woman showed us rows of options, and I feel in love with one that just happened to be on sale. They do have a lot of their options in stock so we were able to take the tile home with us that day. We had to order the bull nose tiles, which only took a few days to come in. The other option would be to pick it up in their warehouse in Delaware. Knowing we were not on a time line we waited for pick up. I really had no idea just how large this store was or what options they offered. They have something for any budget. They also had a ton of carpeting and area rugs. I fell in love with a leopard print runner but had no where in my house to put it #dreamhousegoals. read more

Salesman we dealt with was great, was really patient with us helping to pick out a floor. We love the floor, but the installer did not go a good job of finishing the edges and cut outs he had to make. Photo is how he left the floor around the radiator, and he did the same around the other. He didn't show up until 2 in the afternoon, and told us he'd be back in the morning to finish the job. That was Monday. After numerous texts and phone calls he finally showed up on Friday afternoon and did a lousy job installing the trim. We spent almost $2,000 on this floor with installation, we expected a better job. It seems to me that a lot of contractors just don't care anymore, they rush to get finished and don't do the work that would make it a nicely finished product. We are very disappointed and won't be using Lomax again. read more

In Feb. 2019, we purchased Armstrong synthetic tile at Lomax and had it installed. Then our problems began. We immediately noticed three lumps under the tile. We called Lomax, and they said they'd have the installer contact us to set a date/time to look at the problem. We set a weekday morning at 8:30 because, like most people, I have to work during day. 8:30 came and no installer. I called him and obviously woke him up. He apologized and said he could come at 10:30. I agreed. 10:30 came and no installer. I called him again. He said he went to another job first (WHAT??), and he'd be there at 11:30. I told him not to come. I'd already missed a half-day at work because of him. I told him I'd be calling Lomax to get another installer to fix it. Long story short, it's now June...and I just got my floor fixed. It took more than 3 months and at least 20 phone calls with Lomax to get new materials and have my floor fixed. I had to wait three weeks for the first "new" installer to come because he was finishing a job for the owner. When he finally arrived, he said he only works on CERAMIC tile, not synthetic. Then I had to wait weeks for the second "new" installer. When he finally came, he pulled up my floor and found that the original installer had screwed up. He left nails sticking up under my floor tiles, and also left a small cut piece of flooring under one tile. When I called Lomax to complain, they offered me a 10% discount on my next order. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place to do business!!!!!! Buyers beware!!!! Do not shop or deal with the Mays Landing store. I do not know how they stay in business. They do not even deserve one star but I could not do a review without picking at least one star. This is by far the worst business I have ever dealt with in my 70 years of life. We needed 80 square feet of laminate flooring for a very small bedroom. Our quest with Lomax started out on June 3. It is now August 15 and the job is still not finished. I am so sick of dealing with these people. My next step is to go to the store and make a scene. That is not my nature but I am at my wits end with them. We picked out a floor and had to leave 1/2 of the cost for a deposit. They said someone would call in 3-5 days to come and measure. No one ever called. About two weeks later I called the store and they said they would get in touch with the measures. No one ever called. I had to call the store 3 times before a measurer finally came to measure. After measuring never heard from them again. We had to pay in full before they would order the floor. (Have never heard of this before and they do not tell you that up front ) they also sneak in all these extra charges. They are crooks. Finally after numerous telephone calls and 2 months later the floor was installed. When the installer pulled up he said they ordered the wrong color transition molding. He installed the floor and now I have been waiting for the transition mounding to be installed which is probably a 30 minute job. They keep making appointments to install the molding and never show up. This whole process is now going on 2 1/2 months. I have spoken to the manager of the store Patrick at least 10 times and nothing ever gets done. I have had it with this place. I am going to dispute the payments on my credit card and go to the store to pick up my transition mounding. They will have to fight with my credit card company to get their money. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP IN THE MAYS LANDING STORE. You will be sorry if you do!!!! read more

I had to pay up front for my carpet and a week later it was installed. They would not honor the Presidents Day sale of no installation fees. I paid the installers separately. My carpet has a raised seam right in the middle of my living room. When I asked for this to be resolved, the installer came and told me twice "you signed the paperwork" and tried to bang out the raised area with his hands. I asked for the carpet to be removed and a new carpet being placed from wall to wall and was told by the store manager they would not do that as I would still have a seam in the living room. That would have been fine just not noticeably in the center and raised as it is. What a horrible mistake using this company! read more

We ordered tile flooring on 4/13/19 and were told it would arrive in store in 1 and 1/2 weeks. After not hearing from them we called after 3 weeks, figuring we'd give them extra time. We were then told they could not find the order, though it was paid in full. They told us they mistakenly forgot to order it and promised it would arrive in one week. ( that was two weeks ago). We followed up today (5/17) and were again told they could not find the order. Then told that the item never existed and the supplier did not have the item. We will never shop there again, which is unfortunate for them since we are in the process of renovating all flooring in our home ! read more

I am very unhappy with the carpet I purchased at Lomax Carpet on Grant Ave. The SmartStrand carpet Installed in my bedroom appeared matted and worn in just over two years. This carpet was extremely expensive and comes with a 25 year warranty from the manufacturer. Despite this, the manufacturer has not provided a replacement. However, I am equally disappointed in Lomax. They were friendly when trying to get me to make a purchase a couple years ago, but have become unresponsive when asking for support with the warranty. They didn't even have the courtesy to give me a call. read more

What started as what would have been a glowing 5 star experience quickly deescalated to nothing but aggravation. We had been searching for tiles for the back splash in our new home for a while, and were having trouble finding the right tiles at a price within our range. We wandered into Lomax and finally found the color we'd been looking for (a plain red 3x6 tile), and at a fantastic price! We asked if they had the tiles in stock and were told that they did not and would have to order them. No problem! We paid up front and awaited the order, which we were told would take at least 2 weeks. Later that afternoon, we received a phone call that the salesman had miscalculated the amount of tile we would need based on the measurements we gave him, and that we would have to pay a $35 balance when we came to pick up the tiles. Still, no problem. 2 days later, the phone rang. "Your tiles are in." We were ecstatic that they'd arrived so quickly. I went to the store to pick them up and was greeted by two obviously miserable women behind the counter. The first told me that my balance was $90. I said that there must be some mistake, and that I had been told $35 over the phone. she then proceeded to walk away from me without saying anything. I tried to engage the other woman, who came over and looked at my invoice and then snapped back at me, "I wrote this order myself so I know there wasn't no mistake." I asked her several times to please check again and she refused. I then said that I will not be paying that balance, especially since nobody would confirm it was even correct, and that I was beginning to feel scammed by all of these mysterious price increases. After several minutes, another salesman came over to the awful woman I was dealing with and pulled her aside. A few minutes later, she came back and begrudgingly told me that my balance was $35. I paid and reminded her that she could have avoided all of the aggravation if she had just checked the numbers again as I requested. The woman didn't once apologize to me for her mistake or her rudeness, and sent me on my way with my receipt and my tiles. For the record, I did tell her that she seriously lacked customer service skills upon leaving, and I hope she took that seriously. Oh, and the jackasses sold me entirely too much tile. I have an entire unopened box left over from the job. Now, they refuse to take back my tiles because it was a "special order". I certainly won't be dealing with these crooks again. read more

Nice staff, but we had one lazy installer. Very lazy, did an OK job but took apart some things and trashed them and never even told us until we called and complained. He was to come out and replace what he trashed and told us NO he had no idea how to fix what he did and therefore was not coming back. Salesman was shady and acted like he forgot to take off $100 coupon 3 different times. Installers were nice but inexperienced and quite possibly sketchy characters. The measuring man didn't measure just looked at the room and left. More material was purchased than needed. I was quoted several different prices. In the end I paid $700 more than the estimated cost. The manager was no help at all, she seemed to be naive and straight out of college with no people skills. I'll be taking my business elsewhere next time I need carpet. read more

I love this store. My husband and I just bought a house down the street from us and remodeled the whole house. We used Lomax for Hardwoods throughout the house, ceramic tile and glass mosaic in both bathrooms and kitchen backsplash and carpet for the finished basement. The staff here is amazing, the manager Ted Horn talked to my husband for over an hour with suggestions on how to install the tile as it wasn't in our budget to have it installed professionally. The prices here are better than anywhere else and I wouldn't shop anywhere else for Hardwood or tile. The house down the street we sold in 3 days after putting it up for sale because it was so beautiful thanks to Lomax! Now we are remodeling our own house and plan to use Lomax again. This is an awful company with poor customer service. They sold me an AWFUL carpet with very very poor customer service and refused to change the carpet after I was so unbelievably unhappy. I told them exactly what kind of carpet I needed with two dogs and they sold me something that would never last past a year! There were nails sticking out of the edges that we had to hammer down ourselves still to this day. No one ever came out to fix the installation issues after I called multiple times. The carpets only lasted A YEAR!!! There is supposed to be a warranty however the warranty does not cover anything if they don't see it as a manufacture problem. The carpet is now falling apart in high traffic areas I am pulling fibers out of the carpet and it's falling apart in my hands. I keep getting the run around that someone will call me, NO ONE has ever called me I have called and followed up on every single thing!!! I would never recommend a company like this! I don't even mind that I hated the carpet or that it is falling apart I HATE that a company would rather lose future sales then fix the issue!! Just replace the carpet, I would even pay the difference! Now I have to pull up year old carpet and replace it AGAIN! read more
