This park was designed by Jens Jensen (Central Park, Humboldt Park), and it shows from its winding pathways to separate elevated area that proved a perfect picture perch for local prom kids. Ample signage of lilacs, flowers and trees helps with ID. You gotta visit once in your lifetime during peak lilac bloom, and its worthy of strolls all year round.

Parking was a little challenging during my late April visit with all the beautiful flowers in bloom, but it was well worth parking a few blocks away and walking over for the experience. Scattered throughout the park are plenty of benches, a scenic lookout area, iron deer statue, and more. A stroll around the park is super relaxing here since you're surrounded by plenty of colors and pleasant aromas. Definitely a must visit for any tulip or lilac lover. Worth a special trip due to the quality of the park and the beautiful views.

It seems like the two names, Oakbrook Terrace and Heritage Park, are used interchangeably. Nonetheless, this was a random discovery when I was browsing Google Maps for playgrounds to check out and it is a definite keeper! The park is quietly tucked within a neighborhood. So far we have visited twice in the morning and there were very little people to share the space with. Although I would like the social factor and enjoy the bustle with running and laughing children, but the quietness is particularly beneficial to my firstborn's short attention span. It allows her to stay focused on her tennis lessons with her daddy. The tennis courts are well maintained and within walking distance of the playground. It is easy for us to toggle between the two. The playground appears to be recently renovated. There is a small section for toddlers and larger section for older kids. The space is well divided so the younger children can stay in their area without feeling intimidated. The flooring for both sections is a mix with some parts having wood chips and others having rubber. The rubbery ground is a uphill and down slope climb and it was a great way for my girls to run up and down to expense their endless energy. Otherwise, there is also the typical playground equipment such as slides, climbing ropes, ladders and spirals, and monkey bars. Easy access from Butterfield & Route 53. Enter on Route 53, across from Walmart and McDonalds. There are few trees to buffer the wind, so dress warmly. Lots of dogs on the trail today. Watch your step, as not every dog-owner tidies up after their dog, but the trail is mostly clear of droppings.

It was a nice escape getaway from the city life. An ideal and nice place to relax and collet your inner thoughts. While walking along the trails everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It was a breath of fresh air to be out in nature. A perfect place to jog,kayak, fish, hike, have a picnic or just come and take a scroll. Not crowded and everyone social distances themselves. One playground is situated behind a school and it is more ideal for older kids. The other playground is closer to the obstacle course and pickleball courts. This playground is ideal for children ages 1-8. Both playgrounds have plenty of slides, swings, and climbing structures for the kids to expense their energy. The obstacle course is a fun activity for adults. My brother and I challenged each other to see who could complete the course under a minute. It served as a good testament for some friendly sibling rivalry. The only downside is the tennis courts were converted to pickleball courts. So although it can still serve our purpose for tennis lessons, it isn't the most ideal with the small courts and lower nets.

Four Seasons park stretches from Finley Road on the west to Main Street on the east. There is a very large pond for fishing or simply admiring (no swimming). When winter conditions are right, the pond is available for ice skating. There is a steep hill in the park ideal for sledding too. In addition there is an historic log cabin on the Main Street side of the park available to rent. It has a small kitchen, a fireplace, and AC. It can accommodate 75 for a meeting or 50 for dining. I come to Four Seasons Park to walk , look for wildlife, listen to songbirds in spring, and watch the seasons change. The park is safe, spacious and well kept. There are large expanses of grass and on the south side of the park near the pond is a particularly pretty area with several large weeping willow trees. I especially enjoy the park in spring and fall because it is peaceful. You'll likely see many squirrels, Canada geese, ducks, and maybe a bunny. Watch your step in some areas! When I say many geese, I mean MANY geese. Meander around the sledding hill. There's a nice view from the top and, if you look carefully at the surrounding thickets, you'll find secret passageways. There are a variety of equipment that consists of roller and molded slides, seesaw, climbing ropes, saucer swing, musical elements, and zip line. Our girls have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect and we have visited during the week and on weekends.
