Park

A pretty big park has a few trails good for hiking. It seems mostly quiet. Northside Park is the better park in Wheaton. Has athletic fields. This also has a playground. For a park it's okay and can entertainment for a few hours. It has plenty of things kids can enjoy such as a playground. The equipment is pretty modern and kept up. Adults can enjoy the trails whether walking or riding on a bicycle. The athletic facilities include baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and tennis courts among others. It seems nice enough. Lots to do whether it's sports or just hanging out. There's plenty of bicycle and paved trails.

This part is the nicest one in the area. Great scenery with a huge lake/pond, walking path, washrooms, drinking fountains, play equipment, exercise equipment, sledding hill and more! Place is always clean and has a relaxing appearance. Love going here and this is our go-to place. Especially for our power-walks.

AstroTurf type ground in the park!

I really enjoyed our first visit to this park! It's huge. There's a beautiful trail you can walk that goes around a very active pond. I saw plenty of fisherman around the area. There are a few bridges and docks as well. The park itself is very large. Lots to do for children of all ages. My kids loved the zip line! And all the kids were respectful and kind while using it! I couldn't believe it. Get this, this playground doesn't have wood chips, just AstroTurf. Kids said it was comfortable and my baby couldn't put it in her mouth! Thumbs up to that! Lots of slides, swings, things to climb on! This was a super fun place and we will be returning!

This is a very nice park that I discovered last Fall. There's a lot here besides a pond and walking path - there is also a playground (complete with a zipline), tennis courts, basketball courts, plenty of picnic benches, and an aquatic facility. There's a good-sized hill that's perfect for sledding in the Winter as well. This park is a great place to spot aquatic/bird wildlife such a ducks, geese (beware the aggressive ones protecting their babies), egrets, etc. (I spotted a bluebird here in April).

Its a normal park not much else to say they have a small zipline and plenty of play structures its not the best park but its also not the worst in my opinion this park is good for kids ages 4 to 10

This park is a hidden gym just a little ways from downtown Wheaton! The only con is that there are no public bathrooms.

Mostly good for people with kids 4-9. I would avoid going at busy hours since it's fenced in it gets really crowded.

We stopped here whilst waiting for our pizza order to be done. It was just alright; I was rather…read moredisappointed. There are two sections to the park, with the big rocket being the centerpiece. It's huge, multiple levels. There are at least three slides coming out from it. Lots of places for kids to climb and scurry and jump. But that part was too big for my kiddo so we went to the smaller section a few steps away. There was a structure to climb, several slides, some bars, and then even a little further away a bunch of swings. I tried to keep her from seeing the swings, to be honest, since I didn't want to have to deal with an upset kiddo when we had to leave without enough swing time. She played around a bit but didn't seem as interested in the playground. We went down a slide or two, but some of them had standing water since it has been a bit rainy recently. The playground isn't technically fenced in, but it is effectively so because it's behind the practice courts which are all fenced in. It'd be hard for your kid to get away from you. There's a parking lot for the Norridge Park District building but the neighborhood parking could be tricky, especially in the summer because there is restricted parking from Memorial Day to Labor Day (ostensibly because of the large pool structure that would keep the residents from having any parking for three months otherwise). The terrain of the park is wood chips and soil, decidedly not my favorite (maybe especially after a rain) and she got dirty pretty quick. I may bring her back when she's old enough to play on the rocket ship, but this won't be a park that we return to much if ever.

A mom-of-two's (a toddler and preschooler) straight-forward review -…read more I am uncertain of the official name. It seems like the two names, Oakbrook Terrace and Heritage Park, are used interchangeably. Nonetheless, this was a random discovery when I was browsing Google Maps for playgrounds to check out and it is a definite keeper! The park is quietly tucked within a neighborhood. So far we have visited twice in the morning and there were very little people to share the space with. Although I would like the social factor and enjoy the bustle with running and laughing children, but the quietness is particularly beneficial to my firstborn's short attention span. It allows her to stay focused on her tennis lessons with her daddy. The tennis courts are well maintained and within walking distance of the playground. It is easy for us to toggle between the two. The playground appears to be recently renovated. There is a small section for toddlers and larger section for older kids. The space is well divided so the younger children can stay in their area without feeling intimidated. The flooring for both sections is a mix with some parts having wood chips and others having rubber. The rubbery ground is a uphill and down slope climb and it was a great way for my girls to run up and down to expense their endless energy. Otherwise, there is also the typical playground equipment such as slides, climbing ropes, ladders and spirals, and monkey bars. Side note - This playground is incredibly close to Frankie's Deli which is a favorite of ours!
