He offered to put the dog in another room, but I decided to be brave. Kevin helped me feel right at home in the shop and around his lovely pup, Morgan, as he quickly appraised my coins. The shop is bright and very tidy & welcoming. I was in and out in about 10 minutes and happy with the amount I received for my 10 Morgan silver dollars. I would definitely come back if I have other coins to sell. Easy street parking. Cute downtown Elmhurst location with loads of shops and restaurants nearby. Mike was super easy to work with and pricing was very reasonable to host a 2 hour party for kids. The main track can be dialed back so that the kids won't send the cars off the track. Mike (one man team) did a great job of rotating the kids in for races and even had a separate area for those not racing to send hot wheels care down an inclined race track to pass time while they awaited their turn. Overall the event was a success. We were able to bring in pizza from next door for food. I have pretty fond memories of my dad taking my brother and I slot car racing when we were kids so it was a really cool to be able to share the same experience with my son and his friends. I have since probably purchased over 20 Jellycats from here, it's my favorite way to do so because I love supporting a local business and this shop is genuinely just the best. Outside of Jellycats, I've gotten Hello Kitty Blue Sky Ceramics, an Allen designs clock, Christmas ornaments, a lazy Susan, and baby gifts. Although I don't live in the area, anytime I'm out towards Oak Brook I ALWAYS make sure to stop by Fairytales to see what's new. Unfortunately due to the immense popularity of Jellycats, their stock has declined significantly which is a bit of a bummer, but it seems to be out of their control from my understanding. Everyone I've interacted with here has been incredibly sweet, I've done waitlist orders (I was able to get the large snow dragon jellycat this was as well as some of the rare Christmas ornaments!), and I've done a few online pickup orders as well. Each time my items are packaged beautifully and I feel so special walking out with the super high quality, beautifully branded Fairytales bag. Downtown Lombard truly has a gem, if it was closer to me I'd frequent a lot more, but it just makes my trips even more special when I do get to stop by.
