This is an absolute gem of a thrift store. Love that there's a decent size lot and I didn't have to fight for parking. They have a wide variety of items from fine jewelry to the most eclectic goods. From the outside you wouldn't expect it to be as large as it is, but it does span through multiple rooms. Many areas/rooms have themes like holiday, clearance, collectibles, household goods. It is very well organized. Store is pretty strict on "no large bag/backpack" policy but all employees were very friendly and respectful carrying it out. We spotted this place from the road because of the giant "RESALE" signs in the windows and stopped by after visiting Lilacia Park. Unfortunately at that point it was only a few minutes until the back part of the store (non-clothing items) closed so we did a speed run! Get past the wall of Funko pops and you'll find a large space full of all kinds of vintage. The front room, which we didn't even spend much time in, is all the clothing. Not good at all. Many things in not good condition. Employees seemed bothered and unhelpful. I saw people wanting to make donations that were turned away. They literally just wanted to do something good and they were denied. I thought that was the purpose of the store? read more

ADORE THIS PLACE!! So many cute finds and insane deals! Especially for a toy collector like myself, a lot of vintage collectibles and Funko Pops at honestly very decent prices. Not much in the clothing. A lot of older styles that I would find in my grandparent's attic. Not sure about the toys, not for me. Did find a figurine I was going to re-gift but the girl unfortunately broke it when they were wrapping it. She said she couldn't do anything since I already paid, so I just left. Don't think I will come back. read more

Don't sleep on this place. It is very easy to miss it when you aren't looking for it. They have a LOT to offer. A very large variety of items, new and old, clothes, books, CDs, 8 traks, vinyl, Funko pops, comic books, shoes, paintings, home decor, you kjnow they "type"/ BUT, Purple Manatee has something a lot of other places don't. A shop dog. And he is Amazing. SO come in to pet the dog, and leave with a bunch of really fairly priced stuff. The worked and owner are really legit nice and super helpful. Some times you venture into a place that blows the competition out of the water, the Purple Manatee is one of those places. I have been here a couple of times with my kids and we will continue to come back. The staff is very polite and the owners are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and strive to run a great business. There is large parking lot and you don't have to worry about hunting for a spot. The store has a very boutique type feel and doesn't feel like a basic resale shop. The selection is very large and constantly changing. My daughter likes to call it "retro treasure hunting" and I completely agree. My son has some sensory issues and neurological diversities and the store is beyond accommodating and kind to him. You'd be shocked how many places aren't kind in certain ways. Do yourself a favor, get a coffee, give yourself a couple hours, and go wander around the Purple Manatee. You will leave happier than when you got there and it won't break the bank. I am tempted to not leave a review to save my favorite thrift store from the gazillions of influencers out there... but alas here I am. This place is a GEM. I award all points to the organization of the store- there's an antique room, Christmas/holiday room and a beautiful display of jewelry (with a woman parked right there to show you anything you want to see!) There's a nice mixture of new and gently used things. I've never walked in and NOT been greeted and alerted to the chalkboard showing all the deals for today. Truly a gem! Purple Manatee is an amazingly well-run resale shop. Inventory seems curated well with so many low priced treasures. It has more of a boutique feel and much nicer to shop than Goodwill. The staff and owner are very welcoming. We've mostly focused on baby items and had a couple great hauls with cute accessories, clothing and toys. read more

They will take anything you don't want that you are giving away and they will Evan help carry the stuff you are donating from you car inside and will ask if you want the box and bags back! This store has quality merchandise, very helpful employees and great prices. Parking has never been a problem for me. The drop off door is to the right of the front door and they cheerfully help you unload your car. No more having to go down to creepy back doors. read more

What a wonderful find! I stopped in on a whim as it looked cute from the exterior. I would say it is medium in size but makes good use of each room. There are many nice, clean, even new items. I just had time to kill so I looked around. There are many clothes neatly hanging but that's not the kind of item I look at. I enjoy seeing old, odd, vintage items. There were plenty. Also, there were some games, statues, cups, plates, jewelry, etc. I was able to pick up a couple books. Prices are very low and so much to choose from. There is even a room set up with holiday items. The shop was OK. They overcharged me by not noticing the 50% off sale on some items. It was a bit of a hassle to get reimbursed since I noticed it after the sale was completed and I saw the receipt. Was disappointed to learn this is a for-profit shop. I really do not know who/what they support other than themselves? Some places help Vets, some help people with disabilities, etc. Who do they support? How does for-profit work? read more
