This place is certainly my favourite for a Manhattan --- medium sweet. The staff are exceptionally friendly and once they know you there is always a good tête à tête while ordering. Again, time-depending, you might have to wait a tiny bit while the bar man does his Tom Cruise thing, but for quality and price, one of the best places in for a night's drink Cologne.

The beer was obviously not bad and the sünner malzbier which I love was also great. Jaegerschnitzel was good. It's not as thin of a piece as I would have liked but that's personal preference. The other dish was not memorable at all. For the price which I remember as being not cheap but still reasonable, I wished I had just travelled elsewhere. We noticed too late that most other parties were only drinking and chatting without eating. It was worth a try and if I'm in a pinch to show someone a German brewery then I might take them there for some beer and maybe a schnitzel. They also offer brewery tours (might need to reserve that ahead of time) so that could be a nice combo. The atmosphere in the summer seems to be better too when the outside dining space is also opened. This is not a particularly child friendly location. Here, you will not get the whole variety of the Mexican kitchen either. But, you'll be served authentic, real tasty snacks and bar food (tacos, quesadillas, burritos etc.) of superb quality. The typical Tex-Mex cumin taste is barely noticeable, which I prefer. All other ingredients are fresh, well balanced and dips are homemade. Spices are used up to a point where you can still enjoy the original flavor with a scent of sweat on your forehead, but without ruining your taste buds. And, not to forget: this is a Mexican bar! So, there is a solid selection of Mexican and Spanish beers (including non-alcoholic beers) as well as a whole variety of different tequilas (no non-alcoholic ;) ).
