There are poop bags located at the front entrance of the park but also a station towards the back. I've never noticed them empty so that's a plus. There are two covered shelters with picnic tables and plenty of trash cans throughout the park. There are bathrooms as well but I've never been inside. There is a children's play area/climbing structure and I often see families playing there. There are about 30 parking spots but plan accordingly because this park is located near Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater so this area gets backed up when there is a concert/event. Only taking off a star in my review due to stories I've heard from family/friends who say that there are stalker/creeps occasionally here. When the police have been called for an assault attack a few years ago they said that these complaints happened fairly often... not sure how it is now in 2022 so definitely stay aware and have some sort of protection on you and bring a buddy if possible!

There's a paved sidewalk that's wide enough for walkers, joggers and bikers. It doesn't offer much in the way of scenery, but we like the playground, which is in good repair and has several slides and swings as well as climbing areas and some cool hands-on puzzles for kids. It's been a nice spot for us during the pandemic, as it's never too crowded. We like to venture over after a stroll around the farmers market across the street.

No track field, but they do have a large path where you can walk, run, or ride bikes. Not that much scenery to see. They have baseball games from time to time, and with the weather getting warmer, the games are becoming more frequent. There are 2 picnic tables in the main area and a small playground with swings. For the first time today, I saw that they have a concession stand and will update later with prices! Overall, nice park and people will greet you if you're walking.

This small park is great!…read more It's right by the entrance to the Marshview Dog Park and has a few sparking spots and a shaded playground area that is nice and new and updated. Additionally, two tennis courts that are marked for pickle ball are here. They're in pretty good condition and usually available. No shade at all tho so I recommend you bring water and a hat!

So it is people and pet friendly. They have doggy bag dispensers so you can pick up after your pets. Love all the picnic areas, Very family friendly. This is residential with plenty of mature trees and a paved walking area along with a dirt path to bike, walk, great for runners, wheel chair friendly and great for strollers. The park is very clean overall. -- The Playground -- The playground area with wood chip mulch is best for elementary school aged children. The equipment is in good condition and is labeled as for ages 2-12; with close supervision it's good for younger children, and those on the higher range might enjoy the variety of climbing equipment. There are baby swings, one intermediate swing, and regular swings. There's also a teeter-totter. The playground is in partial to full shade depending on the time of day. -- Benches & Pavilions -- There is one pavilion with one picnic table beneath it. There is one trash can not far from it. There are several benches along the perimeter of the playground. -- Walking & Wooded Areas -- It has one paved path going from one side of the playground to a bridge that crosses the creek and connects to the adjoining neighborhood. There is also a wooded area you could walk through to get a moderate walk in. -- Sporting Equipment -- There are no other equipment options other than the playground. -- Amenities -- There does not seem to be any toilet amenities, so not ideal for a long visit. -- Parking -- Street parking only. Parking is prohibited directly in front of the park. -- Things to Note -- Mosquitoes!! We wore bug spray to the park but had to leave, get more, and apply it heavily in order to return. The park has lights at night. -- Takeaway -- This is a nice, quiet neighborhood park. The main attraction is its playground. If you're in the area and armed with bug spray, it's worth a visit for children. I wouldn't suggest traveling out of your way for it though as there are lots of other parks in VB to enjoy, many with more offerings.

I have heard about this park, but not until this year... my first visit!…read more This park is the home park for the softball team league I play with during the week. While it's not the best or most captivating park in the area it serves its purpose. There are at least two softball fields and they are mostly used for: baseball, softball and kickball. But in my case, I have only seen softball games take place on the fields. There is at least one Porta Potty nearby. Now what it looks like or how it smells inside, I have no clue, so you will have to find out on your own. Unisex, probably! But there are a lot of trees around so perhaps... you know. There is a cute playground nearby as well. It's a few feet from the main softball fields, but I witnessed some children playing there yesterday and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. There is also a sheltered picnic area that seats about 20 people maybe more. I cannot recall of small grills are near. Within walking distance, there is a basketball court... two hoops. Bring your own ball. Parking... super limited. And it's one way in one way out. Now the exact location of the park, I am unsure of the address but if you traveling from I264 Eastbound take the exit(s) 13-14-15 towards N Military Hwy... continue on N Military Hwy the second exit... come around... you are still on N. Military Hwy once you exit... bear far left and make the left onto Hoggard at the light. As you turn you will make a semi-circle and it seems you will still end up on N Military Hwy keep straight and around the turn (you'll pass Pebble Street on your right - the Elementary School is down this street))... But keep around and start looking towards the right, you will see the sign "Poplar Hall Park" make the right turn and here you are!! Pack a snack, bring something to drink... there are no concessions or eateries nearby. Have fun and enjoy life :)

You probably have driven by this city park before. There are three on a short stretch and Brigadoon…read moreland wise may be the largest, but it's empty overall. Also there is no parking. Spoiler alert...move on. The park is located off Lynnhaven Parkway. However, there is absolutely no way to access other than foot or bike. Parking by car would be over a block away in the neighborhood. Brigadoon Park is well maintained with grass recently mowed and no liter to speak of. Trash cans are available. The basketball court and playground equipment are both in great condition. A volleyball court does not have a net. A small shelter with picnic table is by the play equipment. No restrooms are on grounds. Unfortunately the park is completely land locked by privacy fences. If there is access other than off Lynnhaven I missed it. This is a huge draw back for neighborhood utilization in my opinion. I would say the best asset of the park is land. Over three acres easily. They have a gate to move trucks for unloading on the grounds. So it's possible this is utilized, or at least they are prepared. There is not much here, but what is here is well maintained and can be enjoyed safely. 2.5 rounding up. Nice option if your child reside in the area, otherwise I would not recommend.
