We couldn't wait for a Friday night fish fry. We walked in and the place was very rundown, dingy and had carpet floors that were not very clean, but we thought we'd give it a try as there was quite a few people there. We were seated immediately, waitress arrived and got our drinks within 5 minutes. We ordered 10 minutes thereafter, we thought this is gonna be good. We waited.... and waited ...waitress never came back. Food arrived an 1 hour and 10 minutes later.‍. We were so hungry. We ate it so fast. I don't think we enjoyed it. Waitress never acknowledged us other than the first initial walk-in and order. We are pretty patient people and didn't feel it necessary to say anything but the three tables around us were in the same situation, we will not return. 06/07/2023 The food was good. Had the Flat Iron steak, so did four other people, and they all said they liked it. The wife had the Patty Melt which was excellent, and my friend had the Turkey Sandwich with gravy that had a copious amount of Turkey. The fly in the ointment were the Potato Pancakes, they came with nothing, No Apple Sauce or sour cream. The service was grumpy. One girl was setting up a table for us and another said put them over there, instead. 45 minutes later our order was taken. The first got served last and vice Versa. After everyone was through eating waited another 15 minutes for the check, the waitress handed it to me and wanted the money instantly, no time to check the bill. Kind of a musty smell to the place, but several people eat there regularly as it is close. read more

Service was awful. There may have been some staffing issues but not sure. I was there with a few coworkers for around three and a half hours and the waitress only came to the table a couple time. At one point we wondered where she went. It looked like she stopped waitressing and started bartending. Nothing was said. It took forever to get my drink. Just as long for my order to be taken. When our food came out by someone else, They walked to every table asking them if it was theirs before bringing it to us. At one point the waitress was suppose to bring us To-go containers but never did. We went to the bar to get them. Since they were out of a couple options I wanted, I got the appetizer of fried veggies. It tasted good. At midnight I realized upon researching food poisoning symptoms that I was a victim of that. I attended a luncheon event last week at the Pickle Works. The menu has a wide range of burgers, sandwiches and entrees. There were about 25 of us and the service was great. The server got all of orders correct, the food was served hot and in a timely fashion. I ordered a tuna melt which was huge and delicious. The sever was attentive during our entire hour and a half luncheon. The ambiance is typical for a neighborhood bar/restaurant, but is very pleasant. I am a resident of Brecksville and strongly support local vendors however my experience at London Pickle Works this evening is extremely unsafe for the community. I ordered the buffalo grilled chicken wrap and my chicken was completely raw on the inside. I called the restaurant and was denied over the phone. Donna stated that it was impossible the chicken could be raw. I drove back to restaurant, showed the waitresses and Donna the raw chicken at which point she said "ewwww!" I was never apologized to and instead was quickly given a refund, told "You'll be alright", and shoved out the door. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and uncooked food is an extreme risk with severe consequences of miscarriage and fetal abnormalities. I was dismissed. No one cared or apologized. I can only imagine how many other customers this is happening to. I will be following up with the Owner, Garry. This is despicable to the city of Brecksville to have such an abhorrent restaurant serving undercooked food to the community. read more

Went on a Early Friday Evening. The Waitress was slow and Unattentive. Our food came out Late & Cold. Other patrons that had ordered, well after our order was placed, had their food before our order was delivered. Ordered the Walleye Fish Fry - the breading was far thicker than the fish. The fish was mushy and cold as well as the fries. Left the plate off to the side and the waitress just took the plate and never asked if anything was wrong. Also, ordered a steak dinner and the steak was chewy and unenjoyable. We will never return nor Recommend LPW as it was a Terrible Experience, especially for a Birthday. I really hate to leave a negative review but feel like it's needed. I'm giving 1 star for the food and the other for the woman behind the bar. She was friendly, but was literally putting chips into her mouth as she greeted me. I am easy going and even though it was odd I was willing to overlook that and order. I ordered the hot fried pickles because it's always been a favorite of mine when I go somewhere. They were the thinnest pickle slices covered in season-less batter. The batter turned mushy in my mouth and I couldn't taste the pickle at all. I had to sip my drink just to get it down, I was grossed out. I had to set them aside. I ordered fish and chips, and when it came out I dug in hoping it would be better than the pickles. I had two bites. It had a strange odor as I brought the food close to my mouth. I chewed anyway and it had no taste, none. I just ended up eating the fries, which were good. But it was the worst meal I've had in a long time at a restaurant. If you're coming in for a beer and some fries, go for it. But please don't order other food until they get a new cook. There's a sign on the door saying 'Cook Wanted' and that's true. read more

If you're going out to drink, add a star. If you're going out to eat keep it at two stars. Some of the "regulars" appear to get over served, so we ended up sitting about six feet from a customer who was loud, slurring, drunk, and obnoxious. But, we ARE at a bar, so stuff happens. Diet Coke's tasted like some weird root beery thing. Do you ever have a drink where you're not sure if the drink is bad, or if it's just you? I don't know. We didn't send them back, so we didn't give them a chance to fix it. That's on me. Spicy fried pickles were very good. The rest of the food wasn't any better than pretty much any little bar you might venture to try. Steak was thin. And ultimately overpriced based on its quality. It's a steak you'd expect at a bar on "$8 steak dinner night" if you get my drift. At $17, I prefer a steak from any competitor. Coleslaw tasted freezer-burned or something. Ceiling was badly leaking AC Condensation in spots which draws your attention to all of the ceiling tiles which look like they need replaced. I think we were feeling ok, but once we finished our meal, it seemed like forever to get our bill. The longer I sat, the longer I realized that it really wasn't that good. The more I waited six feet from a slurring, yelling, drunk, the angrier I started to get. When you have a couple non-drinking customers spending $50ish on food, sitting next to an over-served regular, I really feel like you should be extra, extra attentive to their needs. I hate leaving negative reviews. Everybody there was nothing but nice. But they seemed a bit lost and their standard seemed a bit low. read more

Went in for a fried baloney sandwich. Was appalled when I saw 4 paper thin slices of baloney fried. You have to be kidding me. Great little dive bar. Food and drinks are both reasonably priced. It had been recommended to me to visit on a Tuesday, with their $5 burger or chicken sandwich deal, but without any specials on the night we were here, the food was still pretty cheap, and excellent quality for the price. I had a Philly Steak Sandwich, which was steak, onion, and green peppers on a hoagie served with fries, which was excellent. Very tasty, and good sized portions, as I was pretty hungry when we arrived, and quite content when we left. My fiance had a London Reuben Burger, which is pretty self-explanatory, and she was also pleased with the flavoring and the portion size. Given the reasonable prices, and the outstanding quality of the food, this is definitely a place we would return if in the area. read more

The good about this place is the food is pretty tasty especially with what it costs (flatiron steak, fries and salad were $8 on special). However, more than halfway through eating a strange smell vaguely reminiscent of severe halitosis came on and I could not tell where the source was, so I got my check and left quickly. I normally don't comment on or justify my ratings, but in this case I definitely would have gone higher for the quality and value of food except for that odor which made me rethink if the food was safe. I believe in awarding stars bearing in mind the type of restaurant reviewed. One can tell by the name that LPW won't replace Ohio's lost Maisonette restaurant in Cincy any time soon, nor does it aspire to do so, but for a sports-bar type venue, these folks do it all right, and do so at the right price! Stopped for lunch on a Saturday. The lady got a cheeseburger and fries, I got scrod and broccoli, we split an order of their fried pickles as an app. The pickles were dill spears coated with just the right amount of what was likely a beer batter and deep fried to tangy perfection. They got the spears vs. chips decision right! The lady usually looks askew at this type of fare, but happily camped out over the plate and ate her fair share! And here's the kicker they were under four bucks! Kudos Mr. Pickle; you done good! The fries were very lightly battered and done perfectly, with just the right amount of crispness outside followed by a creamy interior, ... the fry guy here knows his craft! And the burger was good as well.. ...typical of the genre. I find it difficult to fawn excessively over a burger. The scrod was a very generous sized portion, nicely caramelized and served with lemon and butter and perfectly done. When I was given the option of fries or baked potato or rice I asked if there were a green option and broccoli was offered, it was done perfectly as well and the amount was easily enough for two to share. My dinner came with a salad, which happily WAS NOT from a bag-o-lettuce, but rather freshly cut romaine, a cuke slice or two, carrot shreds and tomato, and it was accompanied by a store bought dinner roll and butter. The service was quite good, although the waitress appeared to be a bit over-extended, but that's a management issue, not the server's fault. Happily they are in the Cleveland Entertainment book, and as I had the coupon sitting on the table during the meal, the waitress took the value off of the ticket before it was even presented! I'm all for efficiency, especially when it affects how quickly I can get out of a restaurant. That move garnered the fifth star! We both stated that we will go back in a heartbeat! read more

The waitress, noticing our iced tea glasses were half full approached and offered to put more ice in the glasses, not more tea, more ice. We all declined. Very nice and friendly staff! Went this past Saturday to celebrate a birthday. Like the idea of seating yourself. We had a party of 10 and were allowed to move tables and chairs to accommodate. The food and drink orders, food arrival and table clean up were all done in a timely manner. I was surprised on how the staff were able to keep up with the coming and going of guests. The food is delicious. I ordered the London Reuben Burger. This is one of the rare places that puts sauerkraut on a burger which I really enjoy. The fries are really good. If I could give zero stars I would, as we never got served any drink or food. We walked in, and sat at the bar. Place was not crowded. The pleasant couple to our right said hello, and was talking to my husband about the baseball game on tv. Directly in front of us behind the bar, was an older man talking to who I think was the bartender. He saw us, as he was facing us, and just kept up his conversation with said bartender, and she never turned around . Everyone at the bar had beverages in front of them, Maybe 6 people if that, at the whole bar. We started joking to each other quietly, that now we know what it feels like to ne invisible. But we are patient, and just started watching the game. Finally after almost 20 minutes and still no one even looked our way yet, gave a refill to someone who was there when we arrived. The man behind the bar who was facing us, was still there, and as we got up and put our coats on, still never said a word. We said bye to the young couple, and walked out the door. Was it still there some four years after I stopped in while house shopping? Yup. Incidentally, investing in a condo down there probably would have made more sense than buying a house in Lakewood. Live and learn. Cozied up to the bar and ordered a Killians, plus cheesesteak to go(for pooch). Like the Unicorn, food was amazingly done before I could chug my brew. I could get used to this kind of service. The bar was all old men. Matt, I don't know how you do it. They were watching Fox news for chrissakes!! Total was eight dollars! Holy shit. I dropped a three dollar tip on that barmaid's ass. How could I not? A real meal at fast food prices, at fast food speed, served by someone not under house arrest with work privileges. Busted open the styro box. Big sandwich with mushrooms, onions, cheez and beef sliced so thin I swear it was a Steak'um. I never ate those as a kid, but I remember one time my friend had one in his bedroom where we were playing NES. He didn't want it, so we threw it all around the room. Fries were awesome. Our crew at work orders burgers every Tuesday (when they're $5 on special) but we decided to all troop down there last week on a Wednesday. Even at full price (which isn't high), the burgers at LPW are seriously good. No gourmet Michael Simon silliness here, these are just huge, well-cooked burgers, done the way you like them. Half my crew couldn't finish theirs (I triumphed, because I'm no quitter). And the fries are yummy, too. Service was fast and accurate and parking was a breeze. read more

This place was such a disappointment. We were attracted to it by the name, but that is about the most exciting part of this joint. It's basically just a local bar to go drink at. The complimentary popcorn was good. The food itself is disgusting. My friend got the "Ultimate Burger"...which the ultimate part was adding bacon to a cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Nothing else special. The chicken sandwiches weren't very good either. The chicken was chewy and I strongly believe it is that freezer bag chicken. The prices are cheap, but the food reflects that. Another disappointment were the fries. What we saw in the pictures were delicious looking coated fries. What we received were your standard store bought crinkle fries that weren't cooked long enough. There were few things on the menu related to pickles so the name is a bit misleading. We did not try the fried spicy pickles which appears to be their only signature "pickle" dish, but I have my doubts it was going to be mind blowing. Our waitress was friendly, but seemed overworked and not always able to come by to refill drinks and such. We saw her waiting on what seemed like all the tables which there were other people standing around. I'm not certain if they were waitresses or not though. If you are someone who drinks this may be the place for you, but if you want actual good food there are several better places. read more
