Friday, 8 December 2023 -- inside Hooley Pub and Kitchen in Strongsville Mall
    Agnes I.

I visited in early December 2023 with a date. It was my first time at Hooley Pub & Kitchen in the Strongsville location. We arrived for dinner (around 6:30pm I think) and we were seated at the bar because they were very busy. It's very large inside so if you arrive on a busy Friday night like I did, then you may have to wait for a table. I suggest snagging a bar seat like my date and I did if you don't want to wait for a table. FOOD -- They have an extensive menu so you will definitely find something that you like. My date and I both ordered the Norwegian Salmon ($23) which came with 2 sides. I got coleslaw and mini potatoes (tater tots) as my sides and he got broccoli and mashed potatoes with gravy. We both got the salmon slightly blackened on the skin. The Norwegian salmon was delicious and I highly recommend it. My sides were just as expected (fine) and I think I had to add ketchup to the tater tots since they needed flavour. I don't like close to this pub but if I'm in the area again then I won't mind stopping by. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 5/150 total reviews in 2024 - 655 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 1 February 2024

Just like their other location off of I480, this place is warm, cozy, and offers a great place to watch the ball games. Great food menu, beer selection, and a full bar. Food is really good. Highly recommend the boxty tots for an appetizer! They are freaking delicious, especially dipped in the chipotle mayo. Service is always great here.

Chicken quesadillas should be $13 not $14. Double check your receipt...

Decent enough place. Staff is nice and the facility is clean. The floors are concrete and utilitarian. Good spot to watch a game. Be sure to check your receipts thoroughly though. The charges from menu are not what they charge for the actual item...

Welcome to Strongsville Hooley Pub & Kitchen! The food here was great we had boneless wings (Hooley hunks), regular wings, salad, Irish egg rolls, and some pub chips. The ranch dressing was amazing! We enjoyed all the food and the servers were attentive and nice. We will be back!

I am not a meat eater but I decided to try their burger and it was so GOOD and juicy! I worked definitely try one again. I do have to say I'm not a fan of their fries, I like my fries soft on the inside and crunch on the outside these are more like chips. I wish I would have order the tater tots. The server was friendly and the restaurant reminded me of a place you can go and hang out with friends. Over all I would give it a 7/10

My 3 kids, son-in-law, 2 Grandkids (age 6 and age 2) and I, Celebrated Mothers day at The Hooley At the Strongsville, Ohio location. I was excited to try their food. Our server Ryan?.. or Nolan?.. was very attentive and friendly. I asked for a booster seat for my granddaughter He inquired, and was told they didn't have any for the "higher" chairs.. I asked for a High Chair.. and he was told they would be too low for our higher table. We were offered a lower table.. but would have to be done by 3:30 as they had a party of 35 coming in.... So we stayed at our "high" table. We ordered appetizers: Potato skins, Boxty Tots and Buffalo chicken dip. They came out promptly and were pretty good. I ordered "The Crispy Chicken Chunks and French Fries. "Chunks?" is an exaggeration and should have been called "Chicken Bits" They were very small (the equivalent of cutting up one large chicken tender into 8 pieces) and not very crispy. The fries (flat planks) didn't seem "fresh" as if they had been re-heated.. and were "chewy" I was very dissapointed. My Daughter loved her Burger, her husband loved his Rueben, Son, did not care for the Shepherds Pie, (Which looked nothing like the online menu photo) and other daughter was very dissapointed in the "Irish Stew" (which again, looked nothing like the online menu photo) It was just shredded meat in lumpy gravy...NO potatoes,, NO Carrots.. NO veggies!! seriously! The menu was just a laminated page, with no photos to reference. Also... the Hooley website needs better photos that you can click on and enlarge. Outside of our awesome server, I was dissapointed overall. I know this location hasn't been open very long, but I don't think I'll ever go back. Oh.... I must mention the restroom... very, very poorly lit.. and the stall was nearly impossible to get into. The door opened "in" so I had to try and squeeze around it, and it was a struggle to shut the door. It was equally as challenging getting out. Bad.

Demolished, are every bite, that's how good it was. black bean burger minus the cheese, added bbq sauce. Tots with Cajun rub.

The Irish coffees are next level! I ordered the Spiced Irish Coffee and the Sweeney's Best. I was going to stop at one beverage but the super warm and friendly server talked me into trying a second beverage, and I'm so glad that he was so convincing! Considering the amount of people there that day, our server was very attentive and definitely hustling. I ordered a Corned Beef Sandwich, and my friend ordered a Turkey Reuben. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and I especially liked the horseradish that came with my meal, and I typically dislike horseradish! Last but not least, they had plenty of live entertainment which included a bagpiper!!! How cool is that? I will definitely be back for the holiday next year and plan on getting there even sooner than that!!

This place is a staple in Twinsburg and has been for the last 20 years or so. I do feel that it has…read morelost some of its charm since it opened and that the quality of the food is hit and miss. That being said, I do enjoy the atmosphere and wood interior. They could do with dimming the lighting a little bit to give it a more aithentic public house feel. The menu is fairly diverse and stereotypically Irish with funny names for food items like Kieran's quesadillas and Irish eggrolls. I will admit that I have probably only had five or six different menu items, including the shepherds pie, fish and chips, and schnitzel. The shepherds pie was passable. The schnitzel was soggy and not particularly tasty. The fish and chips is OK (I've had it several times) but I do not care for the batter they use at all. It is not even close to an authentic beer batter like you would find in Ireland or the UK. The flavor is neutral, and usually some sections of the batter become exceptionally hard for some reason. I do frequently attend their Thursday night trivia which is a lot of fun. All in all, I feel like Mavis Winkle's could be doing a lot of things a lot better but I guess it is passible for a little town like Twinsburg.
