We had an issue with our RV brakes not working at all after coming down the Whitney Portal Rd. They were the first and only shop we called on a Friday afternoon. The saw us right away and inspected the issue. Turns out due to the high altitude and brake fluid getting in the vacuum booster is what caused the issue and all we needed to do was keep pumping the brakes to evacuate fluid. Long story longer, they helped us resolve the issue and gave us confidence the brakes were good to go. They did all this within 10 minutes and said they wouldn't charge us for such a simple easy fix. We were camping at Tuttle creek and with a snow storm inbound, decided to leave but the car wouldn't start. I called this shop and an older gentleman picked up. He asked me "What will you do for us if we fix your car".. I politely Replied that I'll of course pay for your help" to which he replied " Yes, That's what we do in this country". I asked him how much for tow and fix , and he replied"$200 and that they can send a tow truck in an hour" which seemed reasonable. Meanwhile my wife was taking to the Roadside assistance, so I asked told him that i'll confirm in a minute. After checking with my wife, we called him back and asked him how much will cost if the car just needs a jump start, and he still said $200! Before, I could say anything else, he said that I should check with people in the campground for help and that he will only send a tow truck after 4 pm because we didn't like his prices! I was shocked! We were 15 minutes away from his shop and there is a storm inbound and no professional courtesy, let alone showing some humanity. read more

Solo female traveler in 26ft RV. I had a slow leak in a front tire and was driving from Death Valley. I called to see if they could help me. Their closing time is 4:30 and I got there about 3:30. Issac (I believe that was his name) was fantastic! He's the tire king! He found the leak, patched it, checked the pressure on all my tires, and answered my many questions. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE AT ALL. The person on the phone is SUPER RUDE , probably the owner bc with that behavior I doubt is a worker. They abuse of the fact that there's not many options and treat you like SHIT , Me and my friend were waiting for them for 2 hours and we finally called to check he was super rude saying that the driver didn't saw us ( a lie bc it's a small road and besides our location, we were waiting and watching for them ) he was super rude and told us to go somewhere else, the problem? He waisted our day hours , we gonna be left stranded until tomorrow a tire shop opens bc he WASTED OUR DAY AND TIME AND NEVER SHOWED UP. He's rude but I bet he's not when is a man talking to him . They take advantage of women in distress. DO NOT go here. I was climbing Mount Whitney with friends who were driving my car up to leave it at the portal. The back tire hit a rock and they had a flat. It was a Saturday and we knew we couldn't make it back to LA with a doughnut tire so we put our faith in Lone Pine Auto Care. Even though they were charging 60% more for one tire than in LA, what could we do? There were no other options and they had a tire that fit the car. Fast forward to today, less than year later. With a slow leak in the same tire, turns out the tire was old and out of warranty when they sold it to us. Unsafe, unreturnable, and overcharged. That is just not OK. read more

The male individual who answered was rude and condescending.... He informed me that he could get a service person out, but it would cost me dearly. Honest enough... however, his attitude and approach was unprofessional, exasperated, and unwilling to provide any recommendations. So, we went to Teresa's in Ridgecrest. She was poilte, accommodaiong, and her prices are fair and appropriate. The serviceman replaced our tire, and were back on the road in 35 minutes total. We will never use Lone Pine again.. and will certainly not recommend anyone. read more

I am from Denver in California for a planned road trip. In Lone Pine, my alternator failed so I hired Millers Towing to help me get into town and get a fix. After paying $840 to replace an alternator, I headed north towards Yosemite. 40miles later in Big Pine, I was greeted by black smoke and every warning light. I immediately pulled over and called the shop. I explained how there was something caught in the fan as well as a severed coolant line that appeared to be cut as a result of whatever was spinning in the fan. The technician arrived and admitted he messed up in installing the belt which was what was in the fan and severed the coolant line. After the vehicle was towed into their shop the next morning, the owner told me that the belt failing had nothing to do with them and referred me to Ridgecrest Toyota where I was given an estimate of $10k to buy a new engine. The owner is sticking with no wrong doing but it is very clear what happened. Better off walking to an airport than getting anything fixed here. Especially with the mechanic Randy, googled diagrams to make sure he got it right the second time around. Along with an owner only not at all worried about stranding a couple kids to avoid admitting wrong-doing. Unbelievable DO NOT GO HERE read more

Had an excellent experience here on 3-30-2016. They worked me in to the schedule even earlier than originally quoted. Mark changed out a front tire for the spare, and also re-seated an extender on a rear inside dually tire. All the while, he was patiently answering my (many) questions about the tires on my 27-foot motorhome. I was super-impressed at his skills, both automotive and people-related.
