I'm not sure which Lone Tree Manor most of these reviewers went to, but it certainly wasn't the Lone Tree Manor where I just had my wedding reception. Although the management is a bit old fashioned (details were recorded in a calender book, not a computer), everything was exactly to our specifications and as promised. The food was delicious and our guests complimented it highly. How can you argue with potato pierogies, three kinds of meat, soup, salad and other side dishes? We shopped around for reception locations in Chicago and the northwest suburbs and Lone Tree was by far the most reasonable. They also did a great job decorating the tables and the banquet room has been recently redone and looks fantastic. The large dance floor and spacious accommodations were perfect for our large guest list of 225. I truly have no complaints and would highly recommend this place for a wedding reception if you want excellent food, a fancy feel and a good price. read more

I do not know what people are writing about. We are faithful customers in this restaurant and banquet hall since 2002. Many of our friends had weddings, baby showers etc there, and no one ever complain. In November 2009, my husband had 40-birthday party there for 70 people. We arrived two hours before the event to set up balloons and talked to DJ and we did not have any problem with that. Our guest's complemented food and service, no one criticizes anything. Disregard previous reviews as this place is under new management. I was here before when it was under other management and it definitely wasn't the best then.I had my daughters christening reception here and everyone was more than pleased. The owners made sure that we were completely satisfied with both food & the decorations in the venue. All my guests raved how much food was served family style. The chicken Florentine was a hit! My last good experience was in 2013 for a memorial dinner for my brother. We ordered the buffet for everyone and an open bar. Food was great, service fine and everyone left full and happy. However shortly after that, the discontinued the buffet as part of the restaurant. I stopped by and/or called 4 or 5 times. The 4th, the hostess stated the buffet would be back after the (Christmas) holidays. This was the end of 2014. After 2 more calls, I was finally told that there was no more buffet. There's no reason to go there anymore, unless there is a banquet, and there just isn't enough family members left for either a happy or sad get together. I have to say: I have been here twice and BOTH times, I ate myself to shame! THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS!!!!! I mean, I was truly wowed by the pork cutlet AND roasted chicken. I am particularly impressed when MEAT floats my boat as 99% of the time I am NOT a meat eater. I was there for a work function and LTM prepared ethnic dishes that gave me a great impression of this culture's food. I can not even spell some of the dishes, I just know it was OVER the top AND I had wished I had a plastic bag to take with!! I said that half in jest to someone at my table--who apparently told our server, and they sent out carry home dishes for me. WOW. The service of the staff and the generosity of the owner is reminiscent of old world fine dining care. I LOVED THIS PLACE. Here's the other thing that impressed me beyond measure. The food was delicious and plentiful; service was gracious and helpful; the hall was beautiful and clean. Even the wines which were included in price were above average. I cater from this them all the time and people always compliment the dinner. You get a lot for your money and it is always very fresh and piping hot. They also deliver to your house for catering. I also hosted a bridal shower here and the prices plus bar is unbeatable. The decor was beautiful and the food was excellent. Lone Tree is very nicely remodeled by the new owners and what's most important is that it's super clean! We had a graduation this past weekend and the service was great. The food was delicious and was served hot. The owner came in a few times to check in and see if everything is going well. Not impressed with this place. I went here on 2 different occasions: one was my sister in law's wedding and the other was my friend's son's baptism. The owner treated us like dirt not to mention the fact that we had our banquet until 12, he yells like a maniac in polish and hurries us to leave by 11:30. We barely got all our things out of the banquet room, and he ended up closing all the lights!!!! We had our banquet until 12 and he decides to kick us out before 12? I don't think so!!! NOT Impressed - I just recently had my daughters baptism here and I must say I was not impressed, very disappointed and stressed out the entire time of my event. I met with Helena and she was fantastic, we went over all the details of the event from food selection to decor. When it actually came done to orchestrating the event it went down hill very fast the day of. Here are a list of the problems: Upon entering the room the bartender and waitresses should be ready to go with drinks on the shelf and food on the platters to be passed. This was not the case. The bartender needed to run in the back every so often to pull something and would not be present to serve my quests. My guests also shared with me that she did not know how to make several of the simplest drinks including a amaretto stone and sour. (she left out the part sweet and sour) I was told that 1 waitress for every 3 tables would be present - that was not the case either. Appetizers- my husband and I both hand selected the appetizers for our event, several of those we picked were not available and they substituted for rolled sandwiches. Meal- If you order a cream of something... the consistency should not be WATER. It should be creamy like we selected. Bottles of Wine- My guests could not sip on wine during the first half of the event because the bottles were not uncorked. i had a guest ask me if they could get someone to open them.. How embarrassing. Cold selection Platters: Shrimp was frozen and not properly thawed. So my guests could not have it until almost the end of my event. I had previously asked if I would bring in some items to decorate would they set it up and they said it would not be a problem. So i had purchased candles that were not lit until i was sitting down to eat dinner when i noticed it. I mentioned it to the staff and she began to lit each one on the tables. A little late don't you think. That's typically done before guests arrive. Baby Crib- WARNING.. Please inspect the furniture when you look at venues. This particular round infant crib looked adorable from afar but upon inspection prior to my event I found that two wheels were broken off and a piece that was to secure the legs was broken off. I was told that it would be fixed for my event. With the benefit of the doubt I used it and my child slept in it most of the event. It was not until a child came up to my daughter leaned up and the crib moved.. sure enough we check the stability under the linens and i find the crib to be still broken and being leveled by a piece of thick wood (see picture). Can someone please tell me how this was repaired and how in the world is this safe.. i see a liability! 1 hour before my even was to conclude- of course you have guests that are going to leave and some tables will appear to be empty. But why would staff be disassembling tables and chairs while my function is still going on? It looks so tacky and unprofessional. I felt like they were pushing us to leave early. I'm sorry but did i not pay for a specified amount of open bar and did i not pay for my function to be over at a specified time? We felt pressured to leave earlier than what we actually paid for. Typically the staff would disassemble and clean up when all guests have left for night. This was my third time coming to Lone Tree and it will be my last. My previous two experiences (Friends wedding shower and wedding) were fine and cant really remember if there were any problems. I do not believe they have repeat costumers and i realize that ever experience will be different but honestly this was by far the most disappointing event i have hosted. I just hope my guests had a good time and maybe didn't see the problems. I expressed all my concerns to Helena and she was upset with the outcome of my event. I have not been offered a discount of some type or compensation as of yet. Please review your options carefully and inspect everything. ask them to make a cocktail for you and sample the food. STAY AWAY FROM LONE TREE MANOR. This place really sucks. The people there stinks and not friendly. No customer service...and just "ok" food. WATCH OUT when you get your bill. There were some unexplained additional charges from our friend's bill. Lone Tree will add-on things to the bill that you may not be aware of....be careful. I suggest to get everything in writing before you reserve a party there...but don't do it. Keep looking for another place for your party. They also don't like kids. One guest reported that the Supervisor told them that they don't like children when they are noisy. HELLO...they are kids. Lone Tree employees should treat their customers AND their customer's children with respect as PAYING CUSTOMERS. We all have choices....for me and as MANY AS I CAN TELL ALL MY FRIENDS and ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA....FIND ANOTHER PLACE to hold your parties and banquets....STAY CLEAR and FAR AWAY from LONE TREE. One word, yuck. And while I probably should give it one star, I'm sure there are far worse banquet halls out there. I've been here a handful of times for various things. The most recent was last weekend for a cotillion. While the rooms themselves are fairly decent. The mediocre service and almost inedible food make me want to run in the other direction. Honestly, I'd rather eat McDonald's than eat here. Everything is dry, lacks flavor or they try to smother it in some bland sauce. The owner names Tom was very unprofessional. My DJ partner and I, arrived to setup for our friend's 50 birthday party. During setup, Tom requested us to move our suv with trailer to another parking lot which was a car shop with a "no trespassing sign" across the street from this venue. He states that this was due to a wedding at the which was at the same time and his concern of not having enough parking with our suv and trailer (taking only two parking spaces, which we would have occupied taking two cars separately!!). We politely told him we were not comfortable moving the trailer to the other parking lot due to having left some equipment in the trailer and for not being assured of getting towed. We also told him we are not only the dj but we are also guests of the celebrant. Tom said since we are not guests, he prefers we park across the street in the car shop parking lot. Tom did not provide any assurance of our concerns. He left the conversation after we said we were not comfortable moving to the other parking lot across the street. The party went well and after the party we packed all of our equipment in the venue. We moved our suv and trailer in front of the venue to finish our packing and leave as we usually do in any other venue, making sure we were leaving enough room for other vehicles to pass. Tom suddenly parked on the side of our vehicle, blocking our pathway and confronted my partner saying " why are you now parking in front of my driveway to pack up your equipment"? " There are guests here that will be leaving soon." "Why couldn't you just move your vehicle and trailer to the other parking lot, like I asked you to?" We stated that we ensured that we did not block the driveway packing up our equipment, we made sure there was enough space for other vehicles to pass, he gave us zero assurance of our concerns with the safety of our trailer and our concern of getting towed or fined, he basically said we have northing. To top it off, he said, "it's impossible for you to be dj's and guests for this party, either you're one or the other." Wth, we provided music for our friend's 50th birthday, at the same time we sat down, took turns having dinner with the celebrant, and we are not guests? We are also his customers. Should not he be conscious of how he treats his customers and to confront us in front of a crowd and making a scene. Well, after we said we would move our trailer if he needed us to during packup, he said, " forget it, you guys are dumb". Then he sped off in his vehicle, which beforehand during his confrontation, he ended up blocking another vehicle trying to pass through, from parking next to ours, disrupting our packing. Very unprofessional. Tom, if you read this I usually do not write reviews, but since you brought up the subject of hating having to deal with customers that write bad reviews, here you go. Just returned home from a 25th wedding anniversary at Lone Tree Manor. I have been to many weddings and anniversary parties, but this one was tops! Not only was the food far superior to other catering halls in the area, but the "beverages" were top quality. Table service by the staff was cordial and prompt. I understand that the owner and his wife (I was told they are Ania and Tom) did the kitchen work making their special hollandaise sauce and related items. The potato pancakes were the best I have ever eaten! I wish it was a restaurant so I can go whenever I want. There was ample parking and for a hot day...the air conditioner kept everybody comfortable. Amen! For the first time in years, all I heard from fellow guests were compliments about The Lone Tree Manor, and not a single complaint or unhappiness with the service. This is one of the places I wish wasn't associated with Polish owners. I cannot believe they still stay in business. I've been here on several occasions and their food is terrible, doesn't resemble real Polish food, as it is cold and dried up. There is no real ambiance to the place and the staff is extremely overworked, leading to poor service and mistakes. We booked & held a party & Lone Tree Manor & it could not have been worse. We guaranteed 75 people and ended up with ONE server for the majority of the 4 hour party. On top of that she was an angry person & not at all helpful. They nickel & dimed us from the minute we started the booking process. Do not fall for the pricing per person, it's a joke. Just stay away from this place - it is truly a terribly run business. As close to a "bait & switch" as I've ever seen. A quick story...one of our guests took a rose from a centerpiece & they tried to charge us $25 (on a $1,500 bill) for the flowers & made a huge deal out of it. Had to write a review for this lousy place so that no one will experience what we experienced today while attending a wedding shower for our relative. Let's start with their food. Food sucks and I am being nice here. The only thing they could not screw up is the mashed potato. The service was the worst I have seen in this type of setting. The servers were spilling the food on our lap and very very rude. We booked from 12 noon to 5:30 and they also booked another party at 4:30 and told our host that we all have to leave. They are so lucky the host was nice. This restaurant does not deserve a rating. I had my wedding reception at Lone Tree last weekend, and it definitely is not your typical reception venue, but we were so happy with it! They do things pretty old school (pen and paper instead of computers) and sometimes communication can be a bit difficult as everyone has very thick Polish accents. At first we were skeptical, but the incredibly affordable price attracted us. However, as we continued to work with them, we were more and more pleased. They gave us a ton of options for food (delicious pork chops and chicken!) and when we asked, included wine on the tables for free. They also served ice cream for us for free. Biggest of all- they decorate for you!! SO nice. The actual wedding went great. The staff was friendly and helpful and we stayed a little past our scheduled time and they weren't upset. Our guests had a great time and so did we! The Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce held its 90th Anniversary here hosting the village's leaders in business, civic and government who all enjoyed a great location, delicious meal and a top notch staff. Three main courses of beef, chicken and pork were tasty and plentiful. Recent remodeling has made the place look smart and sophisticated. Just had my baby shower at Lone Tree Manor 2 weeks ago.. And I have to say I had a wonderful time. They just repainted their banquet halls added some nice table center pieces and they were even able to turn on purple lights on to match the rest of my theme. After reading some of the reviews online I was a bit skeptical about ordering from this restaurant but since it was so last minute I ended up going through with it anyway. I had arranged a holiday get together/house warming party for family, friends and co-workers so I had put in an order for 70 people. As it got closer to the scheduled delivery time I began to worry. But then the catering truck showed up 10 minutes early. They had delivered fresh food, very hot, delicious and way more than I had expected. My guests had to take the left overs home with them because I had no room for it! We only had 4 people in our party on Mothers Day. Got served our drinks relatively quick. A group of 8+ people came in after us. We waited 20 minutes, the larger group got served soup and bread before us. Terrible. They were not prepared in any way to serve a Mothers Day meal. We were looked at and ignored. This place is horrible. Dinner started late, the wait staff seemed to not know what they were doing. The silverware was set up incorrectly. By the time they brought food out they were rushing you through the dinner. They brought the ovens out to the floor to bring the trays of food out. The guy who I assumed was the owner, kept walking across the videographer during the special moments of the Quintilian. Then there was an issue where something that was hung on the wall damaged the wall, understandably this had to be dealt with but the wait staff didn't have to get involved and instigate the situation to something more than it really was. Thursday night around 6 p.m. we arrived and were welcomed to sit anywhere and yes, the majority of the food we ate was "Excellent". I have been here multiple times for family parties such as weddings, communion, baptism, and funerals. I actually booked my wedding there for June 2014. It has been updated since the last time I have been there, they repainted, new carpets are being put in, and the owner is such a sweet lady. The prices for packages are honestly the best you can get. I went to 10 different places and they were the best choice for the money. They give you plenty of food and they only charge you for the amount of people that actually come to your wedding. The Lone Tree has been my family's meeting place for the last 15 or 20 years, We routinely get together on weekends and for special occasions for a delicious meal in a homey atmosphere. The food is plentiful and prepared as though it were home cooked; and, the variety is large enough so that everyone gets just what they want. My family is sizeable and has some finicky eaters, and it is rare to find any restaurant that can satisfy all of them at any one time. If some want specially prepared items, or items not on the regular menu, the waitresses will do their best to get them. Frequently, the cook comes out to make sure that she gets the "special order" right. If something is not in the kitchen, they often run to the nearby"Jerry's Fruit & Vegetable Store', and you'll have it before the meal is over. No other place is that accommodating or anxious to please. They have several soups, but my family is hooked on the chicken noodle. Some come just for the soup. When any are in the hospital, or rehabbing, Marie (the owner), sends over chicken noodle soup, which often is the only food they'll eat. Others are hooked on the potato pancakes, which they'll order to take out for when they're serving guests at home. Others come for the crisp, fried chicken. Nothing is greasy or poorly prepared, or my family would immediately boycott the place. For those who like roast beef , ham , or a large variety of other items, the Lone Tree has it. The point is, any group can be assured that no one will walk away hungry. Some, on diets, or who watch their weight, can get a large selection of vegetables, salads and fruit. Finally, it's a great place to have a gathering. You can sit around after the meal and visit with each other without getting dirty looks from the owners or waitresses. Noone is rushing to get you out. The rooms are spacious and you're made to feel welcome and comfortable. The prices are reasonable, and I highly recommend that you give it a try. We had a party here and the service, along with the food, was terrible. We had 100 people and there were two servers! The food was terrible and at the end, when it was time to pay the bill, they totally nickel and dimed us!! Are you kidding me? You're going to charge me $1500 + for this party and then you're getting in my face about a $25 fee?! Give me a break! Waive the fee for crying out loud. We had a cousin that got married here a few weeks ago. The wedding reception was great in the sense that two completely different cultures were uniting and making their guests join in as ONE BIG GROUP having fun. Take away all the special personal details and touches the bride and groom put in place for this joyous event, you have a banquet hall that just MEETS EXPECTATIONS. I feel the dinner set up was really disorganized. There were way too many dishes on the table with little room to even move your fork. It seemed really cluttered. The appetizers were good that were being served by waiters walking around with trays. However, the family style dinner was not impressive at all. The mostacolli tasted bland. The chicken was ok, but not anything to write home about. The vegetables and potatoes were just mediocre. It took awhile for the staff to clean off our tables. It got so bad, I started walking my dishes myself to the nearest *dish cart*. When you would try to get someone's attention, they would act like they don't see you and keep walking. The coffee was horrible..after one sip, I just left it there. We noticed later in the night one of the staff members was walking around picking up the extra creamers and butters - putting them in plastic bag. You would think they would clean up the tables and give us some elbow room. Again, the bride and groom made the party great. The banquet hall was just a place to hold the party. I do not hink I would like to host any type of event here in the near future unless major changes have taken place. read more
