This place deserves a negative rating. Complete waste of time and money! We purchased two hours of play during public play on a Friday night. It was way too crowded and priority was given to private parties over and over and over (not sure why they have private parties during public time!!). Between the private parties, the public line and equipment malfunctions, we were in the arena a total of 3 mins (about 1.5 minutes on two occasions). Because of equipment malfunctions, we shot maybe a total of 10 paint balls between us. Ridiculous. . Spend your money elsewhere! read more

There are very few companies out there that have provided me with a consistently awesome experience. Lone Wolf Paintball is one of them. For more than 10 years, I've played paintball at Lone Wolf Paintball's various Michigan locations. I started out by booking a simple private party. Next thing I knew, I was visiting the field regularly, joining walk-on attendees and buying gear and equipment from their pro store. While I don't play as much today, I have still booked multiple private parties for my organization (team building by shooting each other) in recent years. So, why do I continue to give them my business? 1) Fun, adrenaline-fueled gameplay Whether you've are a veteran player or have never picked up a paintball gun in your life, Lone Wolf is absolutely the best place to play paintball in Detroit. The fields are created to be engaging for both experienced and new players. The games are fast and frantic when the groups are small, but slower and more strategic when groups are bigger. You can easily get a lot of value out of a morning or afternoon. I've been to other fields that focus solely on small games and they're not incredibly fun when its the ONLY thing you can play over and over again. At least at Lone Wolf, there is some variety. 2) Great staff I've been lucky enough to meet a lot of the staff over the years. While many have come and gone, they've all been friendly and approachable. I wouldn't call them perfect, but they've certainly be open to feedback and fixing any mistakes I've experienced (poor paint quality, broken equipment, etc.). 3) Unique games Every year, Lone Wolf runs specific scenario games that have themes (Alien Invasion, World War III, etc.). These games are an absolute riot and last the entire day. My friends and I will bring a cooler and hang out all morning and afternoon. While they only run these games once of twice a year, they're definitely a highlight worth experiencing. Some advice I'd give to people who have never played or have yet to visit one of Lone Wolf's fields: Bring extra money for paint --- Paintballs go quick and can often signal the end of your day. Be prepared to buy extra paint. While a case of 2,000 paintballs isn't terribly cheap, Lone Wolf's pricing is pretty competitive when compared to other fields. Just don't be surprised if you run out of ammo and need to spend a few bucks to buy more. This can a real killer if you come with a large group. Dress appropriately --- If you're not dressed for the day, it can often ruin your experience. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or muddy. It also helps to bring a change of clothes with you when you're done for the day. Stay hydrated --- Super important. Lone Wolf does sell water and other refreshments, but you can always bring your own. Like any sport, you need to keep yourself fueled and cooled off, especially when temperatures are high. In short, if you check out Lone Wolf's other social media sites, you'll see that they have a huge fan base and hundreds of loyal customers. I'm very happy to call myself one of them. read more

Great place to play. Staff is helpful and they have everything you need to have a good time. There is plenty of verity as they offer 4 wooded fields and a spool/speed ball field. I have two fields within 10 minutes from my house and I choose to drive an hour to lone wolf. read more

Had a great time at Lone Wolf! The courses are nicely varied and challenging. The staff was friendly and courteous, if any questions that came up, they were happy to help. The rates are fair but keep in mind, plan on paying for the $20 upgrade your first time, you get your own mask to keep out of the deal- it's simply worth it. I have had the privilege of play at many of the Lone Wolf fields and stores over my 17 years of playing paintball recreationally and competitively (speedball & tournaments). Actually the first time, I played paintball. It was at the Lone Wolf outdoor field at the Gibraltar Trade Center . Back in fall of 1998 with some friends. Been hooked ever since. Lone Wolf is one of the most professional places around. The staff takes safely very seriously (and they should;!its important). Games move fairly fast if not faster than most fields I have played in Michigan. Store has most of the new and hottest gear in the industry. They also have most of any of the basics that are needed. read more

Went here with five 12 year Olds for bday party. It was our first time. Went on late Saturday afternoon. It was way too crowded. The wait times to get into the indoor arena were 20-25 minutes. Priority given to private parties Because as I was told by an employee they pay $300. So I guess if you want to play more than three games in three hours on a Saturday, you need to book private party. There was zero crowd control. People didn't line up. It was incredibly hard to walk through or know where to go. We weren't told we couldn't put balls into the gun that hit the floor. So when we were doing that, an employee yelled at us to stop and we got Lecture for something we weren't advised not to do. That is how we started the afternoon. I spent a lot of money for three short games. It wasn't a pleasurable experience to say the least. Not to mention that one of the employees played during the games and kept hitting us when we were already hit and trying to exit. Would not recommend. Very small play area. read more

The indoor arena is very small. But the thing that made me rate this so low is the employees. It's a bunch of young employees on a power trip trying to feel bigger than they are. There no direction at all before games but the employees love to yell at you expecting you to know the rules they failed to tell you. As an example I dropped my balls and didn't know I couldn't use them after falling on the table and an employee felt the need to yell across the room and continue to even though I threw them away. I have never been treated so bad before and for the sake of my dignity I will not repeat the vulgar language used. read more

A group of friends played at their outdoor facility last week, and although we had lots of fun, were disappointed too. Positives: they have multiple fields that are set up well. Most of them have structures on them that give a real battlefield feeling. Our referee was a nice guy and very professional and informative. It's also easy to get to. Be prepared to pay $2 for parking because it shares the parking lot with Gibraltar Trade Center. Negatives: the only problem we had with the facility (which was a relatively large issue) was that eight friends rented two hours of gameplay, but only got in about an hour of gameplay due to Lone Wolf's rental equip problems. After an orientation, we got our equip and headed off to a field fairly far from the main area. Three of the guys paintball markers were jamming during the first game, so rather than send the three guys back to the rental building to change out their guns, the entire group had to walk all the way back, wait for new guns, then head back as a group to the play fields. This was a 20+ minute ordeal, which happened once more about a half hour later. Apparently staying together as a group is a Lonewolf rule, which is fine, however, they didn't offer any additional time, even though we had to go through this rental gun issue twice. So we basically lost 45 mins if gameplay due to Lonewolf's equip problems. We would have been fine with it if they had added on 45 mins, but not cool when paying $40 per guy, and losing almost half the scheduled play time due to their faulty equip. I'll probably give them another try, although I'll speak up to mgmt prior to starting. I enjoy paintball enough to start buying my own equipment, but if you're with guys with Lonewolf rental equipment, be aware, you may lose valuable play time. read more

The staff wasn't very helpful. I went on a day with a lot of beginners and the staff didn't help them much. I had to help fill their tanks numerous times because they didn't know how and the staff just stayed in the building. One field was flooded which isn't their fault but we played that field more than the other fields. We could only play half of the field with very large teams. There were 5 plus people stacked at a bunker and it wasn't fun. We weren't allowed to play fields because another group would want to play it while we're ready to start to play then we would get kicked off of the field. The staff just needs to communicate better better between each other. I liked the way it was set up and the fields have potential to be really fun if it had a little more organization by the staff. read more

First and foremost, I have to say that we DID enjoy MOST of our time at Lone Wolf Paintball, but that is because we as a group were super fun!! Along with that, had it not been for one A$$HOLE employee, our group of 20+ may consider bringing back more business, but Chris was disgustingly rude and CLEARLY not raised with any teachings of manners or respect!! We started off signing waivers, attending the orientation, splitting into teams and being sent into our first paintball battle. All went well (and my team won!) so we moved onto the next battle in the woods. After the second game in the woods, we came back out to the boats and cars field, where the confrontation took place. Keep in mind, we are all 20+ year old adults and were told to keep our masks on while on the field, and barrel covers over the guns when exiting the field, but the masks are rather suffocating and though of an adult age of comprehension, its just instinct to subconsciously lift the mask to get air. All went well during the game, and once the opposing team captured the flag, our two employee "chaperones" called the win and we began to exit the area. This is when one of our teammates innocently lifted his mask and out came the ANIMAL in Chris, an employee unassociated with our group, running from some unknown area, SCREAMING at the top of his lungs, literally cussing out the young man, and telling him to "Bring him his F*cking Gun and that he was F*cking done playing." Following this display of utmost unprofessionalism, came my own experience with the cowardly employee, where I was walking out and LIFTING (NOT REMOVING) my mask to get some air and view, as they quickly fog up, at which point I too was cussed at, told to "Put my F*cking mask on, give him my f*cking gun and get the f*ck out!" THIS IS WHERE CHRIS F*CKED UP! First and foremost, I will admit I was wrong to lift my mask up, as we were told not to until we exited the netting, but it was an honest mistake...and completely subconscious! I initially had no clue he was even "talking" to me, as I didn't realize my mistake in lifting the mask because it was so quick and unintended. More importantly though, what sort of establishment accepts this sort of behavior out of an employee, especially towards a lady and a team whom he is not associated with. The employees working with our group, as well as a bystander employee were quick to get him to head back to his workspace, firstly because he was WRONG in the way in which he handled the situation, and second, because he chose the WRONG group to disrespect and quickly learned that when he had someone in his face teaching him what he clearly missed as a child, to NEVER disrespect a lady! His behavior was RUDE and quite frankly UNACCEPTABLE, and though we may have been wrong in lifting our masks prior to exiting, a simple MASKS ON would have sufficed. Instead, his Napoleon Complex lead to a quick lesson on respect and knowing his place and will furthermore be handled with management and owners of the business! read more

Took my son and his friends to Lone Wolf for his 10th birthday party. The boys had so much fun!! 10 is a little young we had a few criers, but they bucked up and went right back in for more. The boys couldn't stop talking about it!! The people working at Lone Wolf where very helpful and took very good care of us. We will be back. Thank you read more
