I should've headed the google reviews. No one said their work with LPS led to anything successful. I had to hire another attorney to clean up their LPS attorneys work! Their attorney even had my name spelled incorrectly and on the presentation documents another persons name. How did I miss that. Don't waste your time and money with this useless company! Complete waste of time and money! Condescending, gaslighting coward Kish is a smooth talker but proved multiple times to be a liar that will call you childish if you don't give him the praise and affirmation he requires, and Rebecca tries to make jokes and be likeable but if you see past her dumb humor, you see it's just to distract from the incompetence and uselessness. Their contract that will cost almost $13k requires they provide 100 companies to you that your product packet will be sent to, but the list they provide comes from some unaudited outdated database of inaccurate information they blame Dun & Bradstreet for. Dun & Bradstreet claims to update their listings constantly, but almost half of the listings LPS provided me were complete garbage. At least 58 listings were companies that had nothing to do with my invention, or the company name given was not correct or the address was wrong or the company was a duplicate of another company also provided with the same contact information. I only figured this out by searching every single listing on the Internet to see if the information given was correct. Virtually half was completely false or useless or irrelevant information. Most companies I contacted won't even consider unsolicited new product inquiries. For my product which relates to a toilet, some of the companies they provided for me to contact were a home security company, a jewelry company, a concrete company, one for outdoor water systems, the website for one of the companies they provided directed me to an illicit pill website, and one company listed was a single family home that had no company related to it. I wasted time and money mailing packets to dozens of these "companies" believing that Lonestar Patent Services had provided accurate and relevant company listings for my specific product. They say to wait 2-3 months to hear back after mailing the packet but after 2 months they say it's actually 3-4 months. When the fourth month comes they say sometimes it takes up to six months. Just keep waiting is what they'll tell you. They also give you a website where you can go yourself and try to find companies to contact. Nearly $13k will get you a bunch of useless product packets, a bunch of garbage company listings and a website to search for companies yourself. Additionally, Kish and Rebecca refuse to assist with finding or securing licensing agreements with companies that aren't located in the United States, claiming foreign companies are unreliable and dealings with other countries' companies are "too risky." Even though the U.S. patent process permits for filing international protections, Kish and Rebecca claim no other country or foreign company can be trusted and the $13k+ you'll end up spending for LPS to help you get an agreement will be wasted hoping a U.S. company is interested. If not, you're out of luck and LPS thanks you for the money. Their contract provides for a refund ONLY if you secure a licensing agreement that requires the patent be approved, and if the patent then gets denied and you had a licensing agreement with a company already, they'll refund you. But they provide such useless company listings that your chances of getting a licensing deal are virtually zero, and the way LPS actually puts that clause into practice is they do everything to prevent you from getting a deal. Now I'm left hoping they didn't lie to me about the odds of the patent succeeding, cause if it fails and I don't secure a licensing agreement by then, I'm out more than $16,000, based on Kish's lies and dereliction. I'm also left considering legal remedies for Breach of Contract and gross incompetence, given how they stonewall and hinder your chances of success by refusing to provide valid companies in the amount they promise, and falsely claiming their contractual obligations to be fulfilled fully in year one, with no more willingness after that. They will also use your happiness with their services in year one against you when in year two, you learn their services had been a complete sham. A deal with Lonestar Patent Services is not safe! Stay away and save your time and money! BBB complaint filed too. read more

Lonestar Patent Services which is run by Kish Kuehnert, who portrays himself as a patent lawyer, is in fact a patent promotion company. I gave him the details to my patent idea only to be presented with a contract that I soon discovered exploits my product by introducing it to manufacturers. The likelihood of a manufacturer buying a product that has no history of sells is extremely limited. The provisional patent he presented to me was incomplete and lacked the ability to be turned into a utility patent. For the record, this is a patent promotion company - with a simple web search you will find out why taking your invention to a patent promotion company is usually not a good idea. After spending nearly 15K, I am now disappointed, discouraged, and nearly penniless. read more

I called and set up a meeting for my patented. I have met them 10 years ago and since I got the prototype done and patent I was looking to just hit the market. I was very upfront about just wanting to check into a license deal at this time. Kish was very condescending from the start. Telling me that I wasted my money and needed to pay him to do what's already been done. I asked him what he was offering and his exact words was "oh I need to tell you again". It's been 10 years and I have a memory issue from my army days from an injury from Desert Storm. He was "it's not my fault you can't remember ". I told my wife let's go and he insulted her and I made it clear not to ever do that again. My wife was very vocal about my disability and Kish didn't care. Her made a rude comment to her and then started calling us rednecks and told us to get out and never come back. If you want to deal with an arrogant a person that tells you how stupid you are work with Kish. Otherwise find a better company to work with. He quoted $12,500 for the work and said he charges $3500 for the patent and I made it clear I didn't need that so he knocked off $500 and said that's all it was worth. read more

Would not recommend this company if you want a finished product in your hand. They are a idea promoting company. So yes they will pay someone to draw a 3D model (picture) of your idea then they will pay a engineer to draw out plans on how to put it together. Keep in mind this engineer is not considering production cost. His main goal it hypothetically draw out plans for something that will work. The last step is to file for the provisional patent which I did but didn't matter because I had no product in hand. Never the less I did end up with a fancy packet to mail out for 200 companies. Oh yes and that was another 100 bucks in postage. Which was worthless because companies won't even open it unless you have a actual patent . Next time I'll go with a company that will at least give me a prototype and ability to produce it. read more

The inventor incurs 100% of the financial risk and surrenders far too much of the possible no-guarantee financial reward. Inventor pays Lonestar Patent Service to perform various services. Lonestar Patent Service does not invest in nor provide any kind of advance to inventor. Basically, the inventor pays for services AND surrenders a minimum of 10% of net revenue to Lonestar Patent Services "IF" they are successful in bringing your idea to fruition. Inventor is expected to throw money at Lonestar Patent Service consultants without one single cell much less any skin in the game. Investor takes all the financial risk. read more

Good, Bad and Ugly experience. The Good: The folks at Lonestar Patent Services in Irving Texas are friendly and encouraging. Beautiful building, view and professional office environment. They offer basic services for developing a patent and claim high percentages of success, which I am not disputing. The Bad: In my particular case however, Lonestar Patent Services claimed they preliminarily searched to ensure nothing similar existed like the claim I had. (I recently googled "garage screen door"; the second listing is similar to my idea.) Lonestar developed a drawing and description of my idea with their team of experts to file for a provisional patent. Feeling confident about our venture and paying well over $12 grand to Lonestar Patent Services, several other patents already existed like the design, that Lonestar technically created, from my idea. Resulting in the US Patent office rejecting the proposed patent. I believe Lonestar Patent Services failed to diligently research or no search was done to identify these facts. The Ugly: I was called naive by the owner of Lonestar Patent Services, also of which I do not dispute. I assumed they are in the business to help naive people, like myself, with ideas whom have never applied for a patent or have any knowledge or experience doing so. Trusting people is what I do. I contacted Lonestar Patent Services regarding an innovative product I developed. Rebecca was very helpful during my initial contact and provided me with what I could expect when I come in. When I arrived she greeted me immediately and was very welcoming and professional. I then met with Janet, the Consultant, and after reviewing my product, she really liked it and gave me ideas of additional target markets that I can consider when I launch the product.
