I accidentally put a ring on my finger yesterday that absolutely does not fit and struggled all…read morenight to get it off. My finger became swollen and I panicked. Fortunately, I read that firefighters have the right tool for ring removal and as I work close to Station 10, I drove over there this morning and the crew saved my finger and my ring with just one cut. They were gentle and compassionate and listened to me talk about my son who will become a full-fledged paramedic this coming Friday. :)

This is a life threatening issue since time is of the essence in saving lives and property during a fire. Yet I have been a resident here for 32 years and we have yet to have any practice fire drills or fire prevention presentations from any of the Long Beach Fire Department personnel to discuss vitally important information to the residents or have any sort of drills to familiarize themselves with the layout of the power, waterflow, structural design, alarm systems until there is fire here and then they show their unpreparedness to trapped residents while scurrying around to determine building address numbers. The operator was very understanding and easy to work with. The Parking Enforcement Office came within 10 to 15 minutes of my call. My review is based MAINLY on the Parking Enforcement Officer who came to address the situation. He arrived at about 2:10pm or so today, Wednesday, 07/15/2026 at Orange Avenue & 36th Street. He was very understanding to my concerns and explained to me what could be done and why a tow could not be done. I appreciate him taking the time to explain the legality of the situation. I wish I got his name so that I could acknowledge him in this post. Hopefully, his supervisor sees this and acknowledges him.
