My 30 years experience with this hospital…read more This is my primary hospital. The only complaint I have is the cost of parking! Parking fee is ridiculous! This hospital as always pulled through for me. From emergencies, surgery and radiology etc. This hospital has taken care of my family. This place has some of the best doctors in place. Clean hospital, with staff that is professional. From admissions, nurses and doctors. All were professional that treated you with respect. But not to sugarcoat, there are some security guards that are completely jerks! Incompetent and judgemental. But I assume no matter where you go, there are always a few. :) I hate hospitals period, for some reason Memorial has been comforting. Compared to County hospitals and nearby hospitals in in the Long Beach area. Memorial is solid. Of course all comes with Good Health Insurance. It does make a difference on what type of insurance you have. I was treated to at this hosptial on Friday 02.27.2026. Admissions was professional and friendly. Took me right away! Easy breezy! Kudos for the service.

I wish to share a great experience I had with this Urgent Care faculty. I went in with a severe…read moresinus infection Saturday afternoon. The wait was not long. The waiting room looked like a typical waiting room area. Once called in and taken thru the doors...this place was amazing. It looked like an emergency room at any major hospital. All the rooms had beds. They have X-rays, CT scans and MRI machines. I saw NP Courtney Rompel. She was as thorough, skilled and experienced as any Internist I have seen. She was very proactive and was able to address all my medical needs. You are a rock star NP Rompel! I was so appreciative for her concern, care and bedside manner. She even noticed I had some wax build-up in my ear. I can't remember the last time my ENT looked in my ear. My ear was subsequently flushed by the great technician on duty assisting NP Rompel. Side Bar: A few days later I was having an issue with some antibiotics I got at CVS (on the same property). The medication was cracked and disintegrating. CVS refused to exchange the medication without a new prescription. I wish I was kidding but I am not. So back I go to the urgent care and they immediately contacted CVS for replacement medication, without hesitation. I was so grateful for for the treatment I received by NP Rompel, the responsiveness for the medication re-do request, and just in totality an overall fabulous experience. I am on the mend thanks to all the great staff at Continuem Urgent Care! With gratitude!

Till one day, I just couldn't take it anymore and came to VALB for mental help. Dr. Smita asked me some questions that day and handed me over to Physician Assistant Sue Tin for follow-up care. I had a video appointment with Sue Tin. I told her that a year after I returned from Iraq in 2007, traumatic thoughts kept reappearing, making me angry, and it kept getting worse and worse. She said it's an anger issue and put me on Quetiapine, which didn't do anything but made me sleep, and woke up feeling tired and drugged up. Then I had an appointment with a senior Psychologist Dr. James Edward. Before the appointment, I had to take a test, but I didn't know what the test was for. I was shocked when Dr. Edward told me that I have severe symptoms of PTSD. I argue with him, saying that it's impossible for me to have PTSD because I was never in any combat. So I went through 6 weeks of group therapy and left the program. One day, a childhood friend of mine noticed that I had changed a lot ever since I returned from Iraq and told me about non-combat PTSD. I applied, was carefully examined by a VA doctor, and was awarded 70% compensation. HOW MANY MORE MENTALLY WOUNDED VETERANS WILL SUE TIN BE ALLOWED TO JUST DISSMISSED AND LEFT TO DIE HOMELESS ON THE STREET? SHE NEVER SERVED A DAY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. WE DID, AND WHEN WE WERE ABOUT TO BLOW OUR OWN BRAIN OUT FROM TRAUMATIC THOUGHTS REAPPEARING AND CAME TO VA HOSPITAL FOR HELP, WE GOT SOME SH### LIKE SUE TIN.
