The mates were pretty helpful in putting the bait on the hooks and they measured each catch to see if they were big enough to keep. The only negative I would say is there is no prior instruction on safety, no clue where the life preservers were located and we could barely hear the captain over the PA. And if you get seasick, as a dozen of us did, dramamine doesn't help and 5 hours on the boat is too long!!

Mike made good use of his knowledge of the fishing grounds and his array of electronics to put us on the fish time after time. On one of the trips I was fishing with two young cousins and Capt Mike and the mate were very patient with the boys, showing them how to fish and making it a great day for all. Unfortunately this was a bummer experience…read more I booked the full moon tour as I have been extremely looking forward to doing one of their tours. I prepared a special cocktail to share with my boat mates and headed over to the port on my bike happy to enjoy an evening on the water. Usually when booking a boat tour they have boarding time and departure. The tour reservation was 7:30 for a full moon tour, as this is before sunset I assumed this was boarding. I attempted to call to confirm but did not get a response. I left to arrive at 7:15 just in case, however on my way to the dock my tire popped and I had to double back and get a taxi. I called them immediately but no answer, I called again while in the taxi and reached the person taking the boat out. I was 3 minutes away and he said if I arrived in 5 I would make it (this was 7:37) I arrived at 7:40 and attempted to enter but the gates were locked and there was no instructions for entry, I finally got in but they had left seconds earlier. I then got stuck inside the dock for 40 minutes until someone else came because the only way to enter and exit was a clicker I did not have. Overall, the communication was poor and my evening was completely ruined. To add insult to injury I got completely eaten up by misquotes while waiting to leave the dock area. I did not want to leave a bad review but texted all of this and never heard anything back. Feedback to the company: Please add clearer information about the boarding and departure times and please be more clear about how to enter the dock. Thank you. Sad this was the outcome.

I was invited to join a charter that my friend Neal put together the opening week of striper and…read moreblackfishing on the No Time. I have chartered many boats on Long Island over the years and none of the captains had the determination and willingness to put us on the fish as Captain Nick and his mate Robert. They came prepared with mojo's, plugs, live bait, and clams and after we caught our limit with plenty of throwbacks we steamed off to several of his blackfish honey holes to have the rods bend with some nice togs! Back at the dock Robert fillet and bagged our catch which made for a few very tasty dinners. Speaking with Nick, I found out that he actually won the Hudson Anglers Shark tournament in Freeport one year, so hoping to see him again once the waters warm up to see if we can catch the big one!!

The ladies band music added to the great experience. Now I understand why the price of this water taxi tour is almost same of riding the bigger boat in the area. Music is light, ride is smooth, privacy is observed, drinks are provided ( for a fee of course!). We were educated of what we were seeing during the ride and the sunset view experience was amazing. Will I come back ? Sure , why not.
