I have nothing but praise for the emergency room staff of doctors and nurses. I'm sorry I was in so much pain that I don't recall names but to the woman at the desk who whisked me in to the E.R. staff I want to say thank you so very much! Now to the nurses on the 2nd floor G Wing I believe I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sorry if I kept you busy changing 50 bags of fluid that kept my catheter flowing. You nurses are truly dedicated, hard working and go above and beyond. Special shout out to the ones whose names I can remember and those I don't . Amanda, Litzy, Brandon, Maria, Brianna and Tom the RN that was called in when I had an episode. You guys rock. Again thank you all that took care of me when I ended up at Mt. Sinai.

came to the emergency department because I had sudden, severe abdominal and pelvic pain that was so…read moreintense I could barely walk. I also had nausea, a headache, and other symptoms that were concerning enough that I sought emergency care. While I appreciate that blood work, urine testing, and a CT scan were performed, the way I was treated throughout my visit left me feeling dismissed and dehumanized. As my visit went on, I felt increasingly rushed. I was told that they needed my bed for another patient, and from that point forward I felt like the priority was getting me out of the room rather than making sure I understood my care or felt comfortable with the plan. I understand emergency departments are busy, but patients deserve to be treated like people, not like they're simply occupying the next bed. The communication surrounding my diagnosis was also very concerning. When I questioned it because it didn't seem to fit the symptoms I experienced, I was told it was being put down "for insurance purposes." That statement completely undermined my confidence in the explanation I was being given. I left feeling confused rather than reassured. One of the most upsetting parts of my visit was overhearing a staff member talking about me. I distinctly heard the words "she" and "weird." Whether they were referring to me or my symptoms, hearing that while I was lying in a hospital bed was deeply hurtful and unprofessional. Patients are already in a vulnerable position, and no one should leave feeling disrespected. I also felt that my questions were brushed aside instead of answered. I wasn't looking for an argument. I wanted to understand the reasoning behind my diagnosis and why my symptoms were attributed to it. Instead, I left feeling like my concerns were minimized. I work in healthcare myself, so I understand that emergency departments are busy and that staff work under tremendous pressure. I was not expecting perfection. I was expecting professionalism, respectful communication, and to be treated with dignity. Unfortunately, I did not feel that happened during this visit. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future patients don't leave feeling the way I did.

It took us to meet Diann who normally works in admin overseeing patient care but was working with patients in the maternity ward on the midnight and I must say she was great. Another nurse that deserves an honorable mention is Sherry. She was a true replica of what a nurse should be, she was my daughters angel (Lisa was great too). We arrived at South Nassau Hospital 9:30am yesterday, and my daughter received sufficient care but the type of care and concern Diane and Sherry gave her and the other patients was commendable! When women are in active labor a little kindness goes a long way. Simple things like bringing a warm blanket to mom or offing one to dad, or just holding her hand or talking her through an epidural makes a world of difference. These three beautiful women made up for the midnight crew that ignored the call and told me they would show me how to unhook my daughter so I can take her to the bathroom myself when she needed to go.

By that time they stuck her 4 times trying to get blood. That's unexceptable! She knows she has no veins and told them that. But kept sticking her any, because I wasn't back there. But my mom told them, and because she elderly they took advantage of her. Repercussions will follow after this visit. They're all standing around talking and shopping on their cell phones instead of doing their jobs!!!!!! I will pursue this, because something has to be done about this!!!! The floors were so filthy. I had to ask for a custodian to clean the floor!! DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY PEOPLE!!!!

The staff purposely and deliberately thought they had a right to keep me from attending my court date. They claimed I was on a suicidal watch and I'm not even a psych patient. The hospital has a ceo administrator and found out later he's not the cro but a pretend Jasa's dr bond. He pretends like he cares. I was a hate crime victim and I had my court case he deliberately kept me in the hospital even though they were not treating me so I missed my case in court and after four years of waiting I now have nothing to show for it. They put me in a position where I had to sign out ama and they made up an excuse not to give discharge paperwork. Not only am I a psychologist but I'm a mandated reporter and I documented every episode of bad behaviors of the staff. They went around telling the patient how I'm on illegal substances and I was psychiatric. I'm going to go to criminal court and shut down this make believe hospital. It seems because I was there for medical and they thought they could treat me as a psychiatric patient I am going to sue them and shut St. John down permanently
