They have some good movies, shows and exhibits. This is one of the nicest places to escape to in Long Beach and right down the street from Starbucks and plenty of good places to eat. I take the kids here all the time. Free Wi-Fi, relaxed atmosphere. Great children's section upstairs and they sometimes have some good books or videos for sale second hand. This is one of the best Libraries around and the staff is very nice and helpful. Come Sit and Read or Just Veg out.

The library is a FREE institution and if you're lucky enough like me to have a great library you should definitely take advantage of it. Not only for the economical reasons but also because its GREEN! Reuse! They have a great selection of reading material and a great dvd section. No more $5 blockbuster rentals or $20 netflix monthly fees. I've never not found something i was looking for and if they are missing it you can get on their waiting list or request a book. Coming from living in the city for many years this library is a godsend. All of the branch libraries ive gone to in the city are the worst and never had anything most people would want to read. Truly unfortunate. Go get your free library card today and take advantage of what they offer. I've never stayed there to read anything or had to deal with the staff other than to get my card and sign a book out and they were always pleasant.

They don't seem to have much in stock but I'm sure it's a great library and I noticed they have great programs so I'd recommend. I love libraries so I might be biased

There are a lot of programs for guests of all ages, and there is a theater, game room for teens, a kids section, and an outdoor section. My only complaint would be that there are not many computers there, and that the game room exclusive computers do not let you download games. Overall, this library is very nice and I would recommend visiting it.

I keep seeing groups of kids coming in just to hang out really, and that would be perfectly fine if they weren't watching videos on high volume or talking as if they're outside.

My son loves coming here and checking out books. There are DVDs and CDs for personal use. There is an activity room in the basement where they have educational classes as well as classes for children. With your library membership you can get a guest pass to the Cradle of Aviation museum, the Intrepid, Nassau County Museum of Art & Old Westbury Gardens. We have taken advantage of this benefit and have thoroughly enjoyed every experience.

The staff was friendly and welcoming all visitors. The children area was well organized and books were clearly labels. My sons enjoyed the scavenger hunt a lot. It's not so big, it's got two floors and a basement, a small parking lot that's usually filled up, but don't underestimate this place! The librarians are helpful. If you can't find a book, perhaps it's in another Nassau library and it can be sent here if you're a Nassau resident. The children's area is cute & I have such good memories of reading books there as a child. Lots of cool books, movies & cd's. There might not be private cubicles or cartels but the tables on the second floor is a good area to study, it's usually quiet and there's usually a few people here working quietly.
