My wife and I spent three nights here on an extended weekend in mid October. Weather was sunny and warm and we spent much of our time sight seeing around the area. Positives: Out of the way yet easy to get to. Beach Access. Protected from wind. Clean. Friendly Staff All sites have good water and septic hook-ups. Negatives: Poor utility layout: two spots share the same power post. First person gets the 30amp the next is stuck with the 15amp. Odd numbered sites can have up to a 30ft reach for septic. Dense campsite layout. Other: Amenities include: Pool and hot tub, laundry services, bathroom and shower facilities, Kids climber and activity room. Recommendation: Not a bad place to stay if you're on the go and sight seeing. Wouldn't consider as a destination stay.

We arrived around 3pm and there were only a couple spots open for tent spots. We chose the quote side which on the drive in stretch which was great cause the far side by the yurts was really busy and crowded. We stayed Friday-Sunday and it was prefect but get here early cause spots get picked up real quick and be sure to leave your paper on your stake or your spot may be snatched up. Just leaving your tent or cooler doesn't insure your spot, we watched a couple spots near us try to get snatched multiple times during our stay. We got a little bit of sun and lot bit of rain but we brought a canopy and tarps so we were good. Our spot on the map was spot 'U' but the stake said spot 'H' it was right next to the dumpster and right next to a water station which I think is a good spot and only a short walk to either restrooms. The restrooms at the far side of the park was super busy so naturally my favorite was the restrooms by the welcome center. The walk to the beach was a really only 10mins long and you can hear the waves break early in the morning and late a night when everyone around you is sleeping.

We were LUCKY enough to get a picnic table and this was it, the thing barely held together - bottom all rusted

We spent a long weekend here and had some serious concerns about our kid's safety. I will explain what I mean in a moment as I want to begin this review with the observation that this camp ground was not always what it is today, it used to be great clearly as the pictures will show. When you find the place, kind of tucked away off the beaten path you will be pull in and register. Initial impression of the main building is fine but then you get to look around. Overall we left with the impression that this corporate owned facility does not get much investment on maintenance items that they should, appearances are huge and this place leaves a lot to be desired, see pictures. In general, we expected better quality than say a government owned and run facility, we were disappointed. Clearly, thousand trails spends to much on marketing and not enough on their facilities. I would NEVER EVER stay with them again. We need to do a better job at researching the various camps. SAFETY Issues -wild animals enter the camp readily and common sense practices are not enforced so put up your food items -front entrance entry code machine has been broken for a long time, its left laying on the ground, its powered still as key pads light up at night, imagine how long its laid like that to have the yellow safety tape fade to white, see pictures. -electrical pedestal is left unprotected in a field next to the pool -our picnic table had a leg almost rusted through, told staff they did nothing to resolve -sites are so close together if your in an RV doubtful you can have much of a fire -picnic tables are rotting / rusted and very gross, bring a tablecloth (minimum) -its very clear that a lot of people homestead here in this facility, but without high standards its junky too look at CON -no space or privacy, they cram you in like sardines in a dirty jar -only one bathroom has a shower -pool nasty and minimally functional -bathrooms not cleaned often enough -dish washing facilities for campers are very limited -only one place to put your garbage, avoid it as it stinks -trash cans left near dumpster uncovered unsecured and animals get into them -very little shade -LOT of safety issues -REALLY neglected and not much pride taken by staff -firepits (if you get one) are just cracked and broken cinder blocks -pool safety posture leaves a lot to be desired, sign says hit button for emergency.... There is no button on the pool deck -very little for kids to do -not paved so no bike riding for kids, note it was very dusty PRO -laundry -showers -hosted bingo -wifi in main building ONLY -close to the beach -beach is gorgeous -you can drive on the beach -city of Long Beach has most things you might need -have a TV in day room but it only can fit 6 people -yurts, cabins, tent and rv camping so your covered -mosquitos -lots of dog poop laying around

Excellent Camping Experience !! I went Camping during the 2015 Labor Day weekend. We were even tent camping and had a great time ! Would have been nice to have electricity at our tent sites but we roughed it and were fine. The Staff was Helpful, the Restrooms were stocked (although the I think a few more showers need to be built), the Pool looked awesome, even a small building to clean fish. Quiet at night, cool little cabins available for rent (I'm sure reservations required in advance) but friends of ours stayed in one and everything inside seemed New !!, Free Coffee at the Office in the morning, Laundry Facilities to Dry bedding from a leaking tent, a cool little trail to the beautiful beach. Close proximity to the town of Long Beach was also a Plus !! Thanks for a Great Family outing 1000 Trails. All in all I will definitely return if I want to camp in the Long Beach area.

We really enjoyed our time in the Long Beach area and the radius travel was great. The park was quiet and once we got past the initial shock of how close the "neighbors" were and a few other things, we calmed down and enjoyed ourselves. 1. If you plan on staying here, bring deet or whatever your favorite mosquito repellent is. You have to walk through a marsh area to get to the beach. GIANT MOSQUITOES! 2. The camper who said there is a lot of dog poop was not kidding. 3. If you plan to hook up to the sewer make sure to have 25+ of hose. There are hook-ups but they are set up funky. 4. If you select a spot where the 50amp is taken, check to make sure the 30amp is working and not melted, prior to unhooking.

The park is just a short walk from the beach (and no need to cross busy roads to get there) which is a huge selling point. Biggest issue: Utility configuration needs a re-do. The fresh and waste water connections are at the back of the sites so you'd better have longer hoses for both (25 feet to be safe). You can also empty your tanks at the end of your stay by using the pit right across from the fish cleaning shack (its not marked but is shown on the map). The sites are very close together (although there is still walk room with your slides out) and not assigned. Its first come, first served. If you are pulling a long rig or have a coach longer than 28 feet you may want to look only at the sites on the south two rows for better backing room. The park was clean and every staff member we spoke with was helpful and friendly. Close to town yet off the beaten path. I'd stay here again, just better prepared to make it easier to use.

You're close to the ocean, surrounded by trees, and there's this constant sense of spaciousness that lets your mind open up. It creates the perfect conditions for artists to think, feel, and make work. What makes Arts Week truly special, though, is the people. The group of artists is diverse, thoughtful, and deeply engaged. You're in conversation all day long, whether that's over shared meals, spontaneous collaborations, or late night talks that somehow become the most meaningful part of the experience. It's rare to find a space where people show up this open and this willing to connect. The programming strikes a great balance. There's structure when you want it, like readings, performances, and workshops, but also plenty of unstructured time to follow your own creative instincts. There's also a real sense of care built into the week. The staff and organizers are thoughtful and attentive, and you can feel that they want everyone there to succeed!

My husband and I drove by the Sou'wester over a year ago when we were visiting Seaview for a day…read moretrip. We thought it looked like a fun place to stay considering we love all things vintage and staying in a vintage RV sounded like the kind of nostalgia we would appreciate. A few months pass and we decided to book a 3 night trip for our 12th wedding anniversary. We arrived on Saturday afternoon right at check in and we found the staff friendly and attentive. After check in we drove down to our camp site. They leave the doors unlocked after check out/"cleaning" so the key was sitting in the unit. This also means anyone can come into your unit before you even check in. The outside of the RV was, as expected, worn down but that's a part of the charm. Upon entering, we were hit with the smell of mildew/mold and a extremely warm trailer due to the heater being left on and it being late June. We turned off the heater and attempted to open up the windows, but alas they were'nt all fuctioning. Our 3 dogs couldnt even be in the unit without over heating so we set up their playpen outside. Half the flooring was either peeling up or gone all together. The walls had'nt been cleaned and had a film on them. The seating area did'nt fold down into additional bedding (another broken item), the toilet was dirty and still had urine on it and the bathroon walls were peeling. We weren't looking for a 5 star hotel but for the price we were paying per night we expected more. We settled in for the evening and tried to make the most of it and chalk it up to a new experience. The next day, after waking up and taking the dogs for a walk to the beach we decided to relax at the campsite and decided we could set up out tent (other camp sites had tents on them) to add additional living space. As we were lying out the tent in our area a woman approached us. She didn't introduce herself just started making comments about the tent, and the dogs, and the playpen. Again, no introduction, no pleasantries, just came in HOT. My husband tried to deescalate the conversation however the woman kept interrupting him and talking over him. He reached out his hand to introduce himself and thats when she finally paused and offered her name, Mary. She let us know if we wanted to put up a tent we would need to pay an additional $35.00. We explained to her we weren't expecting additional guests and that the tent was meerely for additional outdoor space. Again, she was coming in hot like we were trying to pull a fast one over on her. I explained that no where was I told tents were additional. I was not paying them any additional money due to the price we already paid and the comfort of the unit. Mary contiously spoke to my husband ignoring me all together. She was telling him what to do and how to do it and she came off extremely aggressive. We said we would speak to management and that's when Mary let us know she was the manager but was off duty so we could take it up with another manager. My husband is a POC and Mary presented as white and while the lodging advertised itself as diverse and inclusive we did not have that experience with Mary. My husband asked Mary for some space and it took asking several repeated times for her to finally leave. After she left, we decided this was not a place for us to stay. My husband started packing and I went to let reception know what had happened and that we were checking out. The staff at reception was very accommodating. I told them what had happened and they were confused as to why a tent would be such an issue with Mary. They tried offering additional things for us to stay and I refused. They asked if I wanted to speak to Mary again, and I said no. I did not want to speak to her ever again. The staff said they would talk it over with a manager but I let them know we were definitely leaving. We drove the 2 hours home. On our anniversary with cancelled dinner reservations and hurt in our hearts. Do better. Understand how you come across as a person of privilege when speaking down to a POC. I hope this is a learning experience for Mary. I checked my email today and she refunded our entire amount.

We just had the absolute best experience stopping in at Snow Peak in Long Beach!…read more After grabbing breakfast with my nephew and coworker, we decided to check this place out. Being locals, we've heard many good things about the campground, but had never seen it for ourselves. We weren't certain that we would be able to just walk through and check it out, so we were a bit skeptical at first. That's until we met Beth, who was working in their onsite cafe/camp store. I have truly never felt more welcomed in my life! Before even entering the cafe, we felt like we were talking to someone who's a longtime friend. Not to mention, she made us the some of the best drinks we've ever had. I ordered an iced matcha latte, which was incredible. They use ceremonial matcha, it's the real deal! My coworker ordered an iced mocha, and said it was the best he's had in a long time, if not the best he's ever had. Beth was kind enough to tell us more about the property, the things they're known for and all the amenities you have access to when you book a stay. She welcomed us back whenever we would like, and told us we could hangout as long as we wanted. We decided to utilize their corn hole boards, as a huge fan of the game I was excited that they had this as an option. The game went on for a lot longer than we had anticipated, and it was quite warm outside. Beth brought us out ice waters, which was so sweet! We did some more exploring before heading out, and we were not disappointed. We checked out their sauna, which looked like it was straight out of a dream. Cold plunge, a beautiful sauna room (that I unfortunately did not get a photo of) and a huge hot tub. We didn't want to leave! Overall, this place is absolutely incredible. We were only there for around an hour and a half, but I left feeling relaxed and can't wait to go back. We already have plans to book a stay! Beth, thank you so much! The main reason was for the Ofuro spa, which just looked absolutely stunning in photos. I booked my weekend stay very last minute so none of the cute wooden cabins were available, but plenty of field tent sites (which is the cheapest option, if you bring your own tent/gear). Check-in was easy and Jasmine was very kind and answered all my questions and helped me book my Ofuro Spa slots (they send you a link to make the reservations yourself but I didn't want to make an account). The buildings on the campfield are gorgeous. All made of wood and reflective of Japanese and nature aesthetic. The building with the restrooms and showers is perhaps the most beautiful bathroom building ever and it was always SO clean! The campstore is also beautiful with lots of windows to let the light in and sells everything snow peak, as well as provisions. The cafe part of the store sells beverages like coffee and tea, pastries, and also japanese hot dogs! The barista Beth was the loveliest person - she's local so she can tell you what things to check out in town! The terimayo hot dog was tasty! The campstore also has games and books! And outlets at the big table and also wifi! The Ofuro spa was definitely my favorite part - the architecture is stunning. There's a main pool that's like a hot tub, a cold plunge pool, and a sauna. There's also a fire pit and chairs off to the side too. There are cubbies for your stuff but no lockers. There are only four changing rooms with showers. Bring your own towel and bring slippers. Also recommend bringing your headlamp if you are going during the night time slot. The spa was really great and it was relaxing when barely anyone was there, which happened two of the times I went - which were the adult only times (first and last slots of the day). I went once I think around 5p which does allow children and they were treating it like a kiddie pool, splashing water around on the other guests, even though the parent told their kid to stop doing that. So best to go during the adult only times. Check out was easy! Forgot to mention that they have big wagon carts so you can transport your stuff to and from the car in the parking lot. I would love to come back one day and stay in the cabins!

We checked in and had to cough up a $50 cash deposit for a group site. It was in direct sun with no trees, which is deceptive on their campground map. It was full on sun, so we asked if a nearby shaded campsite was available during our stay before we set up camp. The older lady, who seemed somewhat mixed up, told me our group could use a nearby shaded site during the entirety of our stay. Another camper would arrive at the adjacent site on our last night, so "No problem," according to her. We could use the shady site; just expect a neighbor on our last night. We were fine with that and were grateful for the shade. Well that wasn't the case: While we were out of cell phone range for the day, she calls and says we must break camp immediately and move back to our sunny group site with no shade. We had to move 3 tents, kids, and lots of camping equipment quickly before the next customers arrived in the shady spot. The reason? The old lady mixed up the campsite numbers and didn't want to admit her mistake. She forgot that the shady site we were allowed to use was actually already booked. When I asked why we had to move suddenly, she said, "That's not what I told you!" which was a lie to make her look good in front of her crotchety husband. Then she said she was "doing us a kind favor "by offering a shaded site, and that we needed to go immediately to the group site, in the full sun. Her husband became angry at my question and yelled, "Then just get out now!!!" in a very mean way. I told them we'd kindly move back to the group site but I just wanted to know why things changed so suddenly. What a jerk the caretakers are! they both made us feel like crap for their own mistakes and mix-up. Facilities here are sub-par, lacking effort and craftsmanship. Everything's been built on the cheap: Showers only run for 5 min before you have to put 3 more quarters in. And no: you can't load it with 6 quarters for 10 min.; only 3 quarters go in at a time. You have to step out from the shower into the common area (naked) to put 3 more quarters in for your next 5 min. The shower changing area is too small , and there's a family campsite directly behind the bathrooms, so you can hear children playing while you're in there. Cheap faucets and fixtures. Probably a bad septic system too, because you have to hold down the flusher for quite a while. Toilets don't flush strongly and there are no locks on stall doors. The water source for tent campers is too far away and and there's a gross "sink" to do dishes in up near the bathrooms. We had a portable toilet near the group site, which was cleaner and more convenient than the actual bathrooms and sinks were. Overall, stay away from this place and these people who run it. There are better people to give your money to for some decent facilities. I'll never stay here again and hope to never see the caretakers again!
