We arrived later in evening after the office had closed. They called us to let us know our check-in process can be contactless and provided details on how to access our space. The grounds were well-oriented and clean. The other campers were respectful, quiet and friendly. We were car camping so our setup was quick and easy. The tent spot assigned to us was pretty marshy from the wet weather. The restroom and shower facilities were very clean. I had the whole place to myself. We only stayed one night, but this seems to be well-managed, safe and clean. Also, this was a reasonably priced option and with availability over a holiday weekend to boot! I wish I could go back in time and book at the KOA instead. Getting a reservation was okay, but when I arrived after hours my assigned space was so uneven I moved to the flat space next to it. The entire section of 30amp spaces was empty except for someone in a tent. About an hour or so went by after setting up and the "maintenance guy/manager" on a golf cart pounded on my door, he was extremely condescending and gave me crap for moving. Remember, the section is empty. I was only there because I was going to take the RV for routine maintenance nearby the next morning. After explaining that, he was still very rude and said he was going to call to see if it was okay to stay in that spot. I didn't wait for the jerk to comeback, definitely wasn't going to stay there after that. I called KOA and they were very nice and empathetic about this horrible customer service. In less then 10 minutes I was on the road for KOA. Spend the extra money, at least they refunded me but still that big bearded jerk should be fired for his incompetence and bad attitude. read more

I don't recommend this place for longevity. I've stayed twice unfortunately, 1st time was 6 months in 2020 and traveling back to the areas, I thought I'd try again-mainly due to less expensive rate (price I pay I suppose) and attempting to possibly settle, seeking job/housing. Horrible decision. Main staff have condescending and unprofessional responses and I was treated child-like. I will never stay here again unless they get rid of staff who've been there way too long! Staff is VERY rude, the main old women that runs the office lives in an RV right across from the tent section of the camp ground and yelled at us on multiple accounts for doing normal things like having a fire at night or using the restroom. Located right between Astoria and overcrowded Seaside, Kampers West is a nice little getaway off the beaten track. Our RV lot sat right against Alder Creek, giving us a wonderful view and comforting breeze. The spaces are close together, with little privacy, but we didn't come here to camp outside. That's why we have an RV. Very friendly staff made us feel welcome, even without a reservation in August. The camp site location is great. It's the staff that wasn't. I was yelled at to slow down.....going 7mph to my spot. The posted speed is 10mph. While throwing trash away, the dumpster was full so I put my small trash bag in the dumpster in a spot that it would fit to be told by a gentleman that watched me to it (rudely) to take it out and put it in the back of this truck that they had parked near the dumpster. I think the staff could use some retraining in customer service. read more

Found Kampers West on the internet while looking for an RV camp site in the area. I was really taken with the place. It was clean, quiet, and inviting. I found the staff extremely helpful and present when I needed them. The camp sites were clean, the laundry was clean and all the equipment worked - and was reasonably priced. I believe the relatively new management is working on the right stuff, and I recommend it. Great location between Astoria and Seaside. Convenient shopping nearby. This place was a little slice of heaven. Very quiet, clean facilities, tho the restroom stalls took so gymnastics to get the doors closed. Staff was awesome. Unlike the corporate competitor in the area we wanted to stay one night and that is all we had to do. No paying for two nights whether we wanted to or not. Look them up you are in the area. Spots are decent for rvs. Price is good if you stay the whole month. High wind area not good for tents or rv awnings.. Office staff is ok but the old guy wondering around in a golf cart is super rude, confrontational, and sexist. Exactly what you would expect. Nothing more nothing less. The sawmill is an irritant during the week. Sounds like a hovering helicopter. The spaces are roomy and there are a lot of residence that the management should stay on to clean up their areas. We stayed here this past July and had no complaints. It has a great location not far from Fort Stevens State Park and a short drive to Astoria, Seaside, Ecola State Park, and Cannon Beach. The campground was quiet and friendly, and the bathrooms were clean. Very clean quite campground. Mostly used for full-time campers, which adds to the quite of the campground. Check in was fast, a Good Sam campground. We were there in April so many spaces available. Stay away from this place!!!!!! Camped here this weekend with family to take them out fishing for the famous bouy 10 fishing and my trip was nothing but a disaster the mintue I checked in here. The manager Bo I believe his name was is a joke and the immature kid that follows him around is even worse. I get to my camp site, park my boat and set up camp with my family. Shortly after the management staff comes by and tells me I have to move my boat across the camp ground, unhook it from my truck and leave it on the side of the road. I asked why and they said it's against their policy. After moving and re arranging my camp site I was forced to move my boat across the camp ground. The whole time I am doing this the manager and this kid with tattoos with a Hoodie over his head are watching me like I had committed a crime. They were rude the entire time, even my neighbors mentioned it to me that the management staff had no idea what customer service was. I get up early the next morning and drive over to hook up my boat to find that half my stuff in my boat was missing. My wife was crying and I was in shock. I had all of my fishing gear taken and left me with nothing other then my rods I left back at camp. I had to wait for the office to open and when I did I walked in to find the same manager and kid sitting behind the desk. I told them what happened and the first response was well we can't be responsible for anything that comes up missing. Neither of them cared less. He argued with me while the kid sat back in his chair laughing at my wife and I. I asked to speak to their bosses and he said he won't give me the owners contact information. I demanded to see the policy and he said no. I told him I paid to stay the night and I want a copy of the policy. He handed it over and no where did it say boats could not be parked in camp sites. At that time it hit me that I was setup by them two. They saw my 100k boat and new it would be filled with valuables. They forced me to park it else where so the low life kid and so called manager could steal everything I worked so hard for. Please stay away from this place. I got out of there as quickly as I could and was forced to find a last mintue place to stay. After further research I have found reviews of this happening before that I wish I would have seen before booking with them. I spoke to a couple guides at the boat ramp and they told me they have heard of this happening often. Please listen to us as all we are doing is trying to help. Not my favorite park. Visited during a busy season and the park was packed. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the spaces are very close together and just really not the type of park we like. The rules sound very strict as far as dogs are concerned, per the office and paperwork received, but did not seem to apply to everyone. Dogs around us were not on leashes, and no action was taken. We stayed 2 nights to see the area and explore, but I would of left after one night if another park had a vacancy. We will not return here. read more

If I could give this a zero I would. I utilize reviews a lot to determine where to go when we are traveling/eating out etc. and I can assure you this is a poorly run RV campground and would not recommend it to anyone. The manager has no customer service skills, and is incredibly disrespectful. We arrived late to the campground with our boat in tow and had a very hard time finding our site as the sites are not well marked. The manager is very clearly overwhelmed and inexperienced citing "policies" that are non existent or not well enforced to all camp guests. We had a knock on our door at 11:30pm waking up some of our family to tell us we are breaking policy because boats are "not allowed at the campsites". Although we could not park our boat at our camp due to their "policy" - 8 other sites including the neighboring site had vehicles and boats parked on the grass. We however did not and had both our motorhome and boat in the site. We have pictures to prove this. The manager continued to harass us regarding this and made staying at this campground less than desirable. We relocated to another campground. Note for the owners- having managers like this will only run away business. P.S. A manager having a big dip of chew in their mouth is disgusting and unprofessional. It does not set a good image for this place. Never again. read more
