We had a fun time with Tanner and Parker while passing through town. I would recommend you make the time especially if you have kids. We had a party of 4 and our kids ages 13 and 15 loved it and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and laughs along the way.

(Canopy Tour experience)TL;DR: Long Hollow Canopy Tours = Safety + Exhilaration + Laughter + Nature. This was my first canopy tour/zipline experience. I am a moderate-skill top-rope belay climber and have experienced one challenge ropes course prior to my time with Long Hollow. I'm "reasonably" fit but certainly no athlete. I was *HIGHLY* impressed with the attention to detail provided by Long Hollow Canopy Tours. The entire experience flowed very smoothly: from check-in and equipment fitting, through transport and ground school, through the zipline course itself, to the final experience and emailing of souvenir photos. Nathan drove our UTV; Sean and Madi were our zipline guides; Mackenzie runs the Tours and sets the tone and policies for the entire operation. Madi & Sean were super professional. Always attentive to safety, checking our snap-shackles, carabiners, carabiner gates and cross-checking with each other before *every* *single* traversal. They performed their safety checks on all 8 in our group quickly and efficiently without ever making us feel like we were waiting. I was super impressed at their ability to keep up their enthusiasm, friendliness and vigilance, tour after tour without ever getting complacent. They learned all our names and referred to each of us by name throughout the entire tour, frequently checking in with us on our comfort levels and encouraging us to express ourselves and own each traversal. They made us feel like insiders to the secret world of life in the treetops, and NEVER like cargo to be shepherded along (as I have with some other adventure experiences.) Madi and Sean smoothly adjusted to the varying needs of everyone in our group, working equally well with the bold and the timid, the experienced and the newbies, the young and old alike (our oldest was in their 70s!) The personal equipment and the zipline equipment all appeared to be in excellent condition. If you've ever wondered what life in the treetops is like; if you've secretly wished you lived in the world of Avatar and float from tree to tree; if you think now might be the time to replace your fear of heights with a sense of wonder, then Long Hollow Canopy Tours is the place to start. (I have received no compensation for this review. This review is a duplicate of my reviews on Google and TripAdvisor; I am posting on multiple websites because I was just that impressed.)

Gorgeous views.

Overview: Long Hollow Canopy Tours is located on a large area of land about 10 minutes outside of Galena. Its near the Shanadoah Ranch and Eagle Ridge. The ziplining canopy tours are a must-do activity for anyone adventurous! Worth every penny! Pros: Reasonable price, excellent customer service, optimal safety conditions/precautions, quality equipment, gorgeous views. Cons: No cons. Additional notes: If you have a fear of heights, this activity should be avoided. There is a weight range of 70 to 270 pounds, so young children or heavier individuals cannot participate for safety reasons. Cost: $92 per person. Time: 2.5 hours. Our experience: My husband and I (in our 30s) spent a few days in Galena and wanted to try something new. Neither of us had ziplined before. From start to finish we had an amazing experience with Long Hollow. Our tour guides were Tatum and Aliza, who were very informative, funny, and put safety first. The experience was very exciting and easy to pick up after the first few practice lines. Aside from ziplining, there is one part where you rappel off a tree platform (they help you). To get off the final platform, there is a "free fall jump" (still connected to a safety line). Everything is controlled fun. :) They have a camera to take photos along the way, and will allow you to purchase all photos for $20 at the end. However, if you have a go pro, I highly recommend you bring it along! We highly recommend this activity and would definitely return in the future!

Amazing! This zip line business is a professional outfit from start to finish. Pleasant greeting, quick and courteous service, personable and attentive guides, knowledgeable with safety as the number one priority. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, they have done it right. Beautiful scenery to boot. I think it's a must do if you're in the Galena area.

Did this tour today and Maddie and Tyler were great guides! They made the experience so much easier and more entertaining. There are 5 lines here, a rappel and a "quick jump" at the end. They take photos during your tour and you can buy them all at the end for only $20 for your entire group! I think this is a good tour to do if you have never ziplined before as it isn't very long and the lines aren't "scary". Thank you all for a great experience!

AMAZING just AMAZING experience! Anybody who is actively searching for the BEST ziplining experience they can get for the buck COME HERE. You will be blown out your mind with the beauty of the heights and your adrenaline will definitely be rushing! Perfect for those who live close to Galena IL like Wisconsin natives. Chicagoland residents it will be a LONG commute but an experience you won't forget. This place has just opened back up for the season. It was my birthday weekend approaching and me and my friend decided ziplining would be a great outdoor activity to not only get off our bucket list but to bring a bang to my upcoming bday. We both have hectic work schedules but while we were searching for a good time to reserve a tour a drop down for "sunset canopy tour" popped up. It fit both of our schedules since it started later in the day at 6pm and would allow us time to get there. The description stating "watch when the sun sets as you zip through tantalizing heights ". It was a perfect choice. It was a Friday afternoon and and it was time to take the trip to Elizabeth/Galena Illinois. Mind you me and my friend live in Chicago. It was almost a 4 HOUR DRIVE w/traffic and tollways (there and back) to get to their location but it was worth it! We left on the road trip around 2pm and were still slightly late by 10-15 minutes by our scheduled 6pm start time (you are to arrive 10-20 min before time/especially if your tour contains other groups who have reserved) . However when We called them to let them know we were running the risk of being late around 4:45pm we were pleasantly told "no worries thanks for the heads up,it's actually going to be just you two for today" and they were nice on the phone saying arriving at 6:10 would be fine. It was a little confusing finding their location. When we got to Elizabeth IL, our GPS re-routed us to a complete dead end where there was only a farm and cattle on the field. However after doing a Uturn we finally found the right road. If you have an IPhone it may tell you to park and you will have to walk to the destination but it's literally a small building on top of a mini hill and pathway/mini bridge that you drive over. There is a parking lot where you can park for free. When we arrived we were greeted by three smiling faces,an older man (the driver of send off to zipline) and instructors Riley and McKenzie. They stood over the equipment and before we all headed out gave us a pep talk, geared us up, and we all did a few stretches. They also offered us an assortment of bug repellent sprays. It's really important to STRESS wearing on BUG SPRAY coming here. The Knats were heavy in numbers and before even arriving our window was full of bug debris. The entire tour all of us including the instructors were fanning off bugs from our skin (even after applying heavy bug repellent sprays). We all went into a car that took us to the middle of a forest where our instructors Riley & McKenzie did a practice zipline on a short line so both me and my friend can learn their hand signals. After learning what to do and not do we were on our way to our first zip. Man oh man were the views beautiful. The forest was really quiet and calming and after doing the first zip it got longer/higher/or faster with each new zip. It was like a fun maze. The walk through the forest to the bridge felt like a hiking experience and the bridge was so beautifully made. I would say the hardest parts were the last two zips because they were really high up,longer, and the fastest but making it to the end was amazing. The last part of the tour is doing Freefall where you are attached to a harness and asked to take a big step and fall into the air either forward or backwards. At the end they display your images on their Tv and after purchasing ours they immediately sent it to both of our phones using Airdrop. This place made me and my friends FIRST ziplining experience one to remember for the rest of our lives

My husband and I came out here to do the new rope challenge course for his 42nd birthday! It was just the two of us and our two guides, who were very patient teachers, and we were very happy that we chose the 9am start time because it was getting close to 100 degrees by the time we were done. To say that we're both a little out of shape (thanks Covid) would be an understatement but we surprised ourselves with what we managed to accomplish. It was hard work but we had so much fun and both agreed that if we lived closer to Galena, we'd be here all the time. It was one of the best parts of our vacation and we can't wait to come back (maybe in the fall) to do it again.

My husband and I went to Galena for a weekend getaway/ early wedding anniversary trip. I saw this place and was instantly interested in trying their canopy tour. I mentioned it to my husband (who is a bit afraid of heights) and didn't think he would go for it, but he ended up booking it as a surprise for us! Nathan and Brandon made us feel so comfortable and and helped to ease our nerves throughout the entire tour. It was beautiful and we're already planning to come back with my brother and his girlfriend in the future.

We had an amazing time with Long Hollow Canopy Tours. As soon as we walked in we were impressed with the cleanliness, thoroughness, and welcoming attitude from all the employees. We were a private group of 5, from 10 years old to 62 years old. Sean and Nathan were our tour guides. They were professional, patient, funny and definitely helped to calm a couple of our nervous nellies. We really enjoyed all the Zip-lines, great scenery and we felt completely secure with all their safety checks. Our group was mostly newbies and the amount of instruction was perfect. We look forward to returning to try out the challenge course and the zips again. Thank you Long Hollow, Nathan, & Sean for an thrilling experience! (The company was also diligent with its COVID-19 precautions. Staff always wore masks and the equipment was cleaned immediately after returning)

We took the 2.5 hour Highlight tour which included the interiors of the main house, the studio, and the theater. I addition we toured the grounds by the shuttle bus that took us between sites. Our guide, Andy, was exceptional. This was one of the best tours I have ever taken, and we travel a lot! He covered history, architecture and juicy FLW details. The pace was just right and I learned quite a bit even though I have toured close to 20 FLW buildings. Worth every penny (and the gift shop is quite good too).

Taliesin was Wrights home for much of his life, including when he designed many of his most prominent designs. Taliesin is located in Spring Green, Wisconsin which was home to many of Wrights relatives and was where Wright spent many summers as a child. You get to understand why this location held such a strong draw for Wright. Located just across the river from Spring Green Wisconsin you check in for the tour at the Wright designed building overlooking the river that contains the gift shop and cafe. Even before getting to Taliesin itself you get to experience a wonderful Wright building that provides great views of the river, has the trademark horizontal features and a wonderful geometric ceiling. The gift shop is very nice and has a wide selection. I took the 4 hour Estate Tour which includes all of the major buildings in Taliesin. Our guide started with about 10 minutes of introduction in the gift shop. We then took a shuttle bus to the actual estate we started the tour at the house Wright designed for his sister, which was undergoing renovation; this house is fairly conventional on the outside, yet it has that Wright feel on the inside. Outside we saw the Romeo and Juliet Windmill, which has the story attached that his relatives in the area predicted it would ball over in the 1st substantial wind, yet it is still standing over 100 years after it was originally built. Next up on the tour was the Hillside Home Tour which was originally built for his aunts, but was later converted for the Taliesin Fellowship. We started in the Auditorium, which is unique, especially the way half of the audience is looking at the other members of the audience. The auditorium is still in use, including movies, concerts and lectures. Next up was the drafting room that the Fellowship used. The room is electric with a grid of beams and skylights. You can understand how the apprentices would be inspired by working in this space. We were also lucky enough to be one of the first tours to get to see the hallway and the bedrooms next to the drafting room that were used by the apprentices. We then got a nice break in the Hillside Home dining room with some wonderful light snacks. All of the dining room furniture is Wright designed and the light fixtures were not just Wright designed but then fabricated by the apprentices. A very nice way to actually experiene some of how life at Taliesin was for the apprentices. Back on the bus to take us to the Midway Barn, which provides an idea of how Taliesin was an actual working farm. Eventually some of the barn was used for housing apprentices. Wright designed the barn to emerge out of the hillside, reflecting his idea for organic architecture. We then moved on to the main buildings at the top of the hillside which were the Frank Lloyd Wright house, office and drafting room. This area has significant history both good and bad. This is where the murders and fires took place. Wright managed to rebuild and to make these spaces an amazing place to visit. We got a full tour of the house, the garden and even the kitchen building. It is amazing to see what Wright built for himself and his family. The Taliesin Estate tour is excellent, comprehensive, educational and lots of fun. Our guide was also excellent, not afraid to deal with all side of Frank Lloyd Wright, both the good and bad. He was great about explaining everything, pointing out detail and also separating facts from speculation; he even told us about having conversations with a Taliesin fellow who still lives on the property and is over 100 years old. If you are a Frank Lloyd Wright fan Taliesin is a must visit; I would strongly recommend the Full Estate Tour. I also found it helpful to have read several of the books on Wright and the events that have occurred at Taliesin. Even if you are not a Wright fan, this is an amazing tour and well worth visiting.

The two ladies are getting up there in age , so we thought the best way to see this city was by taking the trolley tour. The tour cost twenty dollars a person and lasts about one hour. We drove by all the important historical homes and markers, while avoiding having to get in and out of the car , numerous times and having to do tons of walking. Parking can be an issue here.
