THE BIG: Located in Woodinville. Long Shadows has this tasting room in the Redwood Place that shares the same walls with Mark Ryan, Fidelitas, and Latta. Plenty of parking in the lot. THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was our second winery stop and we wanted to do a quick wine flight and go onto the next winery. We got the mixed wine flight that included a rose, sauv blanc, and three red blends. The sauv blanc was very nice and all the red blends were good to round out the tasting. I'd say my favorite sip from the red blend was the Sequel. Service was great and was able to walk us through the story behind each wine. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Ultimately a flight of 5 wines was around $30. Wines tasted great and service was impeccable. read more

Incredible wines and a very knowledgeable sommelier who narrated the story behind every bottle and the winemaker, making the whole experience of wine tasting a lot more enjoyable. The decor is opulent and so sexy, perfect for that special occasion. We went on a Tuesday afternoon to celebrate my partner's birthday and we had the entire place to ourselves. And, undivided attention of the sommelier! They have a red flight and a white flight. We love the reds more, so we opted for the red flight that was $35 for a tasting, waived with a bottle purchase of $60. They were ALL so good! Each one better than the other, making it incredibly hard to pick one. They also have flatbreads and cheeseboard. Brought some back to California and enjoyed later. I was excited to go back! We had an excellent and very knowledgeable person working with us. We are members here and made reservations to check out the new location and to taste. Location is very nice. Compared to the old location, more parking and bigger and brighter tasting room. Location is still new and you can tell staff are in training and probably they were short handed. We waited by the front desk to get some attention to be seated. Finally got seated. Service was very slow and each time our wine was poured we had to ask what we were tasting. There were delays between each pour. Totally get it, larger space, they have a patio upstairs so everyone is probably adjusting to the new location and space. It was also a gorgeous day so everyone was out tasting. I came here for a wine tasting without a reservation, but was seated immediately in the beautiful interior, and given a wine menu to review. Jordan, who was taking care of me for the afternoon, was amazing - really well educated on the wines and great to converse with. I am very familiar with their Poet's Leap Riesling, so I am glad we have a tasting room in the area. I ended up going with the Mixed wine flight (which is $30), because I wanted to try a mix of varietals. I really enjoyed their Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay (it can be hard to find a nice Chardonnay!). Their Reds were bold, and I'm sure would be wonderful for red wine lovers (as I like white wines more), but they were still enjoyable. I ended up buying a Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc to go. The tasting menus are definitely on the higher price point, but the service was excellent, and the wines themselves are distinctive from other wineries. It was reasonably busy when I was there. They do have food options but I didn't need food at that time. Look forward to returning. There's plenty parking in the vicinity. read more

Long Shadows blew our socks off! We had tried one of their wines years ago and saved the label, so we were excited to check out their new spot. It is quite a gorgeous, modern open building with lots of seating. We were welcomed immediately by the hostess who quickly seated us and then we were welcomed by our wine expert Michael. He told us just the perfect amount about each wine - not too much and not too little- and I learned quite a bit from him. He did a fantastic job of highlighting how the wines are made that make them different from other wines. They were offering two tastings so we each chose one so we could get to taste them all. The timing between each pour was superb as Michael was on it and our tasting experience flowed perfectly. We ordered a charcuterie board that was divine and complemented our tasting. Michael explained the membership to us but did not push it. There was no doubt we were purchasing wine from here as their wines are lovely. Overall one of our best experiences in Woodinville. My only piece of advice is to not do Long Shadows first. It is really hard to follow this experience and wine. We ended up being disappointed by the other tastings. read more

The main tasting room offers plenty of space for each party, fresh air when the large doors are open and sunlight. We are members and recently upped our membership so we can access the members lounge. The staff at Long Shadows is very knowledgeable about wine in general and happy to share as much or as little as you would like. The wine is amazing - every varietal and bottle always hits it out of the park. After a bit, I said I want to revisit a wine (which is typically OK), he was like well I actually have to turn this table - I have been pushing it enough Now, I can understand reservations and such but this took 2+ hours because of YOU! We drank the wine quickly enough. And to end it so harshly was off putting. In my opinion, I'd say wow we've taken up so much time I have to move you or figure out what to do in the next 15, I am so sorry, etc. the fact that while we're trying to fill out a membership you say "I need to turn this table" is astonishing. She poured each wine with care and shared the fascinating backstory behind each label, along with the rich history of the Washington wine regions. Her knowledge and passion were infectious--we learned so much while sipping some truly exceptional wines. What made it even more impressive was the contrast with another well-known winery just across the parking lot that we visited before. There, we received little to no explanation about the wines or the region, and the whole experience felt impersonal. It really made us appreciate the personalized, thoughtful service we received at Long Shadows. We bought Long Shadow's famous Poet Leap and Dance Chardonnay. They are incredibly delicious. I joined on the spot... My friends and I first walked in here because we were intending to walk farther to the Hollywood District area, but found ourselves in a downpour! We decided instead to check out Long Shadows at their new location and were blown away! I felt so fancy walking in here, they even have a wooden grand piano! This is now evident to me as I've gotten more familiar with their accolades, 90+ points on many of their wines. Now that I'm a member, we also enjoy free tasting for 4 up to 4x a year, plus pick-up parties. I thought my 6 bottle allocation would last me a while, but a month later I found myself without wine again. A hidden gem in Woodinville's Hollywood district. We came here before a concert at Chateau and this was our favorite stop on our little wine tour. This place is a bit quieter than other tasting rooms, which was a nice change of pace for us. Our server was funny, informative, and entertaining. I wish I caught his name! Long Shadows carries wines from several wine makers and you get a chance to taste the best from each. We bought several bottles of the Dance 2018 Chardonnay - funny enough, it was the wine we were the least excited to try when we sat down. Love the red wines. The pedestal is my favorite although I really enjoyed all the reds except for the Chester Kidder. I've tried multiple vintages and none of them taste very good. So, I would stay away from Chester Kidder and focus on the others. We came in for a tasting and the wines did not disappoint! I wish they came by more often to pour. We waited a long time in between each tastings. The flat breads are standard, nothing fancy. As a key club member, I was hoping for better service since we were hyping up Longshadows to our friends that joined us that day. Hopefully, it will be better next time. read more

This was my least favorite wine tasting experience ever: locally or Napa or Niagara or even please like Chile. I didn't like the ambience, I didn't find the chairs to be comfortable, and the food menu was meh. Our server didn't say much about the wine. Our tasting was quite fast because they basically just poured the wine and said two sentences about it. At other places they interacted with us more, they showed us a map of where the wine was grown and told us about what types of foods it would pair well with. And I felt bad for the table next to us because the server seemed to want to pour our tastings at the same time instead of coming back. So sometimes they still had wine in their glass and they came by to pour the next wine. It would've been better to use them as the queue and make us wait a little for the next pour. It seems as if others really like this new location compared to the old one but I never visited the old location so am judging it based on my experiences at other wineries only. Maybe my server was having a bad day or was new so I shouldn't be so harsh. But I also didn't find the hostess to be all the friendly/welcoming either. The only thing I liked about it was the location because it was very easy to walk to 2-3 other wineries and another tasting room is opening up next door. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to Long Shadows, the tasting experience is curated and thoughtful with history of the brand. The staff moved at the same pace we did, neither rushing nor stalling our tasting. We had a very professional tasting at Long Shadows, even with masks on and reservation only assigned tables. Norm, our pour master, was very knowledgeable and described each bottle, explaining what went into the making of the wine. Long Shadows hires the top vintners in the world to supervise the making of each wine. It's a fascinating concept, if a bit akin to Las Vegas hotels attracting the best restaurants to put in their hotels. Like dining in Las Vegas outposts of great restaurants, this all star collection of wines is a bit contrived and generic, but I applaud the creativity. I bought a couple of bottles as souvenirs, but the wines didn't capture my fancy. They were too fruity and young for my old world palate. However, it was an enjoyable and educational hour. read more

I love wine tasting at Long Shadows! Outside on a sunny day is wonderful. Most recently my friend and I enjoyed a fabulous tasting with Emma in the library! She was knowledgeable about the wines on the tasting menu and we had a couple bonuses that were much appreciated. What I love about Long Shadows is the whole concept. Each wine has its own winemaker...from around the world! Poets Leap Riesling is the one white on the tasting menu but I highly recommend trying Dance Chardonnay and Cymbal Sauvignon Blanc (literally the best Sauv Blanc I've had...and I've had...many over the years!). Reds...ooh la la! There wasn't one I disliked. Saggi is a solid bet for a fabulous sangiovese blend and Feather for a luscious cab. I'm pretty partial to Sequel syrah. Reservations are highly recommended and you are winning if you can get parked in the lot (last time I tried just in case and 3 spaces opened up almost simultaneously!). Wine club has 3 options and worthwhile if you enjoy your tasting. read more

Some coworkers and I went yesterday and was taken care of by Sasha who was incredibly informative and wonderfully fun and funny! Prices for these wines are on the higher end of the spectrum for sure, but that is due to the incredible quality of their wines combined with their numerous accolades. Here you will find plenty of good Cab, Merlot, Syrah as well as blends, several white options like Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc and a fantastic rosé that's an incredibly good price! My friend and I did the red wine tasting. The waitress absolutely knew all of her facts about each wine. I'm giving it two stars for a few reasons. 1- I called ahead to make reservations. I was told they had one opening in a half hour. We scrambled out of Château Saint Michelle in order to make this a reservation. We arrived and there was no other people at any table. The entire time we were there only two other tables were sat. I thought this was deceiving and would have liked to spend more time at the other winery. 2- They serve no food. We were hoping for at least some charcuterie option. As I said we rushed out of The other winery and didn't get a chance to eat there and was hoping to eat something small at this winery. The waitress is very kind and gave us goldfish. Not the best pairing with very expensive wine. 3- While we learned a lot about the wines Our waitress was a little long winded and we ended up being there for over two hours. I think the whole winetasting experience could've been done in an hour especially without any food. 4- It's in a strip mall. And while the strip mall or Plaza is very nice it doesn't even compare to the grounds of château Saint Michelle or some of the other wineries in another area. We only came here because it was highly recommended by the waitresses to toast Saint Michelle and it was one of the only Wineries open on Presidents Monday. They served award-winning wines. We didn't find any wine that we really loved and made no bottle purchases. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I rely on yelp so much to pick out and plan my travels. I think it's very important leave honest reviews. I would 100% skip this winery and check out some of the other beautiful wineries in the area.
