I haven't been to this restaurant in a while and was so excited to have it again. Our go to is the Cabo chicken wrap, which has tender and tasty shredded chicken. We like to add hard boiled egg to the wrap as an extra. Their sauces are delicious as well, I particularly liked their 5 Alarm and 3 Alarm sauces. Very spicy but only need a little bit of the sauce to add flavor and heat. The Maui style kettle chips are delicious as well. I tried their Thai chicken and teriyaki chicken in their sampler, but it was too sweet and not as good as the Cabo wrap. It is fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter, and there are a decent number of tables to sit at inside. Overall really good price. read more

I've had Longboards before but not from this location. The online ordering system was easy and I had zero issues. I arrived 10 minutes prior to the pick up time I indicated so I was ok with waiting a bit. The individuals working there were apologetic about the wait and gave me a cookie for being patient. That was super nice and not required. I ordered the Super A Bomb: Turkey, chicken, bacon, hard-boiled egg, mozzarella, pico de gallo, lettuce and ranch. It was huge! Definitely two meals for me. I really liked the combination of ingredients and I'd definitely order this again. I also got a side of hummus. It came with some grilled pita bread. It was also good and I'd order it again. I like that they have an option that isn't chips. I also got a kombucha. The pineapple ginger was super refreshing. Longboards is a KC staple. There are so many unique different options with combinations of flavors. I tend to stick to the Cabo chicken wrap. Definitely recommend that for first time visitors. The service at Longboards is quick and all employees I've encountered are friendly and easygoing. We stopped in here early on a weeknight for dinner. I have heard great things about Longboards and I now know why. I was taken aback at the wide variety of cuisine offerings they have here. There's everything from Mediterranean, Thai, Hawaiian, Mexican, and cuisines from around the world. The decor inside is straight out of 1970s/80s surfer world. It's not hokey either, it actually makes you want to be an old school surfer and go bask in the sun. There are a few vegetarian items on the menu (Tofu and Veggie Noodle Bowl, Hummus and Veggie Quesadilla, Grilled Cheese Quesadilla and sides). I chose the tofu and veggie noodles with Thai peanut and sriracha sauces. It was a good mixture of sweet and spicy over rice noodles covered with veggies and tofu. It was quite good, but there was a large amount of celery in the veggie mix. That being said, I would definitely order it again because it was so tasty. Many of the items could be made vegetarian, but I wasn't sure if they would substitute tofu for any of the other proteins. You know, this place seems cool, I've had it quite a few times through various avenues of tryin' things, but this place really let me down the last few visits. There's just not a good balance of sauce to rice to meat, and it just seems like something not made by a makin' place, but by my cousin, Richie. Richie's a good man, but he makes lame burritos. Maybe add more sauce, maybe thicken the viscosity by 14 percent, I don't know. I got a teriyaki chicken, and I subbed steak, and the steak was a little tough, but the flavor was lacking. You'd expect some kind of marinated flavor, or a good sauce, or something remarkable, but alas, it was not. It's a good value seemingly, at under $10, but the burrito is smaller than larger if that makes sense. They're trying to make it good, that's clear. But the flavor needs a few punches in the right direction, more robustness, something. Just tastes like something Richie made me before we headed off at 4 am for a tractor pull. They're opening one in Overland Park, so I'm excited to try that location. Perhaps they'll do better. read more

If you're looking for a good place for wraps and sandwiches in KC, you'll get far more bang for your buck at Twisted Fresh. The wrap options are similar, but Twisted Fresh's ingredients are better quality, the flavors and textures are more vibrant, and the ratio of carbs to veggies to meat is better. The one thing Longboards has going for it are its hot wraps, which Twisted Fresh doesn't do. They're definitely not good for you and they're more rice than anything else, but they've got some great sauces and wrap combinations. If you're going to go to Longboards, I'd recommend the Thai Chicken or the Cabo Chicken/Beef. Both are Longboards staples and safe bets. Some of the lesser known items are less reliable. read more

The carne asada bowl had a little kick, with lots of flavors. The luau wrap had the rice inside cooked perfectly also amazing flavors. My only critique of the wrap would be depending on what side of the wrap you bit into would decide whether you're going to have a mouthful of pork v.s. rice/veggies. If it was mixed together before the wrap was rolled then you could experience all the flavors at once. Love the environment, it gave relaxing beach vibes. However, the decor is on that fine line where there's too much. While I'm at the counter waiting on food checking out the art, I also noticing thick layers of dust on the decor which starts to make it feel like clutter instead of a clean establishment. Low-key Longboards never lets me down. On weekends, it's one of my boyfriend and my go-to's for fast comfort food. At work, when I overhear a coworker say they are going to Longboards I peak my head around my computer monitor and say, "Did somebody say...Loongbords?!" Both my boyfriend and my favorite (and only) order is the Cabo Chicken Grilled Style Wraps. One day maybe I will branch out, but that day is not today because that's how much I love the Cabo Chicken. Warm chicken and rice melt together with pepperjack and the perfect amount of guac, pico, and chipotle ranch, all held together in yummy chipotle wrap. I've been to this location a few times now and have tried a couple different things. All of it has been wonderful! I tend to like the warm wraps more than the cool wraps but that's just my opinion. Each wrap is packed with flavor and they don't have a problem with customizing a wrap (switching out sauce, leaving a topping out, etc). This is such a cool place. In the restaurant the decorations clearly shouted out that it is HAWAII. Although I choose to do take out, but a little tour while waiting for my meal was ready was great. I got the wow Kung Pow wrap and Cabo beef wrap, they were generous in portion and tasty! They were heated on the board to make them flat, which I found that it was easier to eat compare to the regular burrito. Kung Pow flavor was not what I expected, but still good. The décor is the same vibe across all locations, with this feeling the most cramped out of all of them. The takeout procedure is awkward. After placing your order at the back, you come and stand in the way of the front door. This is especially awkward when you are asked multiple times "Are you in line?"...... Food - consistent.
