I came in by ambulance…read morefrom a domestic violence shelter with severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dangerously low heart rate, low blood pressure, dehydration, and pain near a prior gunshot wound to my head. I had no family with me and nobody there to advocate for me. While I was weak and actively vomiting in the ER, a nurse forcibly held my head down for several minutes. I tried to jerk away because I felt pressure and pain around the bullet wound on my head, but she tightened her grip. The second time I tried to pull away, she moved her hand lower toward the bottom of my head and neck and continued restraining me until I finally pulled away. Then, after my body gave out from the illness and I had diarrhea, another nurse told me that "45 years old is too old to be shitting on yourself." I came to the hospital because I was vomiting and having gastrointestinal distress. Instead of receiving dignity, safety, and compassion, I was physically handled, humiliated, and degraded while sick, alone, and vulnerable. When I requested a supervisor, the house supervisor refused to require an apology and gave excuses about contractors and nurses being straight out of nursing school. A new graduate badge or contractor status does not excuse abusive treatment of a patient. This violated my patient rights under 42 CFR § 482.13, including the right to care in a safe setting, the right to be free from abuse and harassment, the right to be free from improper restraint, and the right to have grievances properly addressed. It violated Texas Administrative Code § 217.12 regarding unprofessional nursing conduct, unsafe practice, and conduct likely to injure or harm a patient. The physical force used against me falls under Texas Penal Code § 22.01 regarding assault and offensive physical contact. This was not healthcare. This was abuse inside a hospital room. I have contacted law enforcement, and Longview police have assured me the names of these nurses will be in the report. I will pursue this through the hospital grievance process, the Texas Board of Nursing, and state and federal healthcare complaint channels as well as the judicial system. This is not the first time these nurses have been abusive because they were too comfortable disrespecting me the entire time. I wasn't the first, but I'm going to spend the next year or two making sure I'm one of the last. I will see you in court.

I tried to tell the nurse when I was more alert that I told her the wrong insurance. She did nothing with the information. Not one person did a neuro check or even listened to my chest with a stethoscope. I was kept there around 6 hours. No cat scan and had no interest in what I told them. I was given multiple doses of bp med IV. On the last one my bp dropped from 224 to 165 systolic. I began having chest pain , sob and nausea due to the rapid drop. The nurse tossed me vomit bucket and said "well you are on a cardiac monitor so..." The other nurse drew more blood from my IV with no gloves on and no sanitizer. I've been an RN for 22 years. This is the most appalling place I have ever seen.

Was scheduled for 7:30 and was on the table by 7:10am. Procedure only took around 45 minutes. I was discharged at 11:30am. I sincerely want to compliment Taylor, the nurse who cared for me the pre-op and post-op time. She was very attentive and thorough. On top of that she was very sweet. She is a great asset to your hospital.

She was also very nurturing and compassionate and she cared for me as if i were her only patient. But....the doctor who treated me went above and beyond in my opinion and he made me feel like a person and not just a patient. His name is Dr. Freimer and with the exception of a couple of other doctor's ive seen there, he is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! He was so attentive and compassionate. He took the time to actually listen to me and then did what he felt was best for my care while accepting my input. He was thorough and extremely kind and I am so thankful that he was the doctor who was there that day. Holy hell the lV needles were painful and the old kind were easier to maneuver. Terry the third nurse didn't hurt like the jabbing nurse. But the equipment caused the pain. Very good hands about the group. So nice seeing people love doing what they do. Thanks again
