Weather was absolutely gorgeous low 70s sunny no bugs no mud. I had never been here and they hadn't done the trails with the rock ledges and caves. We started with the easy meadow loops then went in the woods. The trail in the woods wasn't marked and there were times it was questionable which way to go. I regretted not bringing a stick or hiking poles for the woods but all turned out great. Nice park! I saw in a review someone complained dogs weren't allowed but I think that was just certain trails because several were walking with dogs.

Here you can get snow shoes, brochures, play Chess, sit near the fire place, play games. In aquariums are a snake and turtle. There are a few hands-on activities. In very congested surroundings, this cute little park offers an educational experience as well as pleasurable. Here you will find tree plaques throughout the trail that inform you about the local species. There is also a number of exercise stations, generous playground, a small fraction of ledges hugging a tiny stream and an adorable butterfly garden! With two trails to choose from, you think it would be impossible to get lost. However, the old carved map is slightly misleading. Whichever trail you decide to explore you'll begin at the same starting point ;straight ahead you'll see a tiny wooden bridge- this path leads you wandering around...you cannot distinct between path & surroundings as nothing is marked. If you avoid this & veer to the right, one trail loops around the park while the other eventually takes you through a series of backyards & a golf course. Each trail is made up of twisting roots & tiny gravel so if you have a decent stroller (avoid the trail with a street name & take the loop only) you should be able to enjoy the park without any hiccups.

The crown jewel being their Liberty Playground which is great for toddlers to preteens. It has a generous section for a mini-town, complete with is fire station, traffic light, pedestrian crossing etc. Of note, clean restrooms by the kids area enhances the experience. The soccer field is gorgeous....and well maintained. Tennis courts are fantastic....and well maintained. Excellent baseball fields, multiple....are well maintained. Swimming pool for kids and adults....look great although I haven't benefited from it. The walking areas connecting all the above to independence branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library are paved with lush green grass and colorful floral arrangements with a lot of attention owing laid to landscaping. The Elmwood pond within the grounds of the park is a serene place to sit by. I've had the pleasure of visiting there many times with family, a generation up and also a generation down. We all love sitting there, chatting, snacking,in a peaceful environment in awe of the ducks, geese and if we're lucky, seeing the blue herons that come by there.

There is a long stairway from the main street down to the falls. There are areas to stop and rest, it is a long walk down and back up. The falls are very picturesque and it is worth the trip to see them. The water was running pretty fast during my visit. I am sure other times of the year it is much slower.

There's also a bike trail leading out from the trailhead to other parts of the valley. The falls were there. I suppose for this region they're a sight to behold, but if you've been to other waterfalls in pretty much any other part of the country/world, these won't be too impressive. Pleasant enough area for a shorter hike and cool geology.

The layout of the "park" makes it feel like a constellation of loosely connected pockets of nature in an otherwise developed suburb. I visited the major sites, including Brandywine Falls, Beaver Marsh, and the Ledges. They were fine, some decent hikes and views of different natural formations. Did I feel like I was seeing something truly unique, a natural wonder? No. Of the 20+ parks I've been to, Cuyahoga Valley struck me as the most ordinary and least cohesive experience thus far.

This is a review of several trails in the reservation. Please see the many photos I uploaded that…read moredon't appear below but appear in the photos for this site. I started on the Buckeye Trail at SOM Center Rd and Hawthorne Parkway (the road was blocked there due to a downed tree). I followed the Buckeye trail to the Hatchet Ridge trail where I circled the Henry Church Rock Loop and headed back to my starting place along the Buckeye trail. It was about 4.5 mile loop The Buckeye Trail is some asphalt and some dirt and small rocks. It is easy to follow and well marked. It follows some of the BridleTrail which horses can trek. I saw many runners on this trail. It was mostly shaded and wide enough at points for three people to walk side by side. It was an easy trail. I saw people of all ages on this trail and families. The Hatchet trail and the portion of the Henry Church Rock trail that runs along the river is "somewhat dangerous" according to a gentleman probably in his 60's who stopped to give me directions. The trail is narrow (enough for people to pass each other) and a dirt path with some rocks and roots along the way. All under the shade of the trees. To get down to the river you have to descended several flights of stairs. See my attached pics for elevation rise and fall on the trail. There are several Emergency Location stations along the path so you can share your exact location to EMS in an. I saw lots of people walking along the river shores, wading through the water, swimming with their families, and even jumping from the top of the water fall. It looked like the kids and adults were having a blast in the water and exploring the area. It was a very warm day when I went and the Henry Church Rock area was busy with hikers and kids. The Buckeye trail was quiet. The area is busy with walkers, runners, hikers, families, and bicycles. It's fun and relaxing trail.

During our recent visit to Cuyahoga Falls National Park my wife and I happened upon this shelter…read moreand lake while searching for the Ledges Trailhead. The well maintained shelter and bath house were constructed in the 1930's by the local CCC Corp. The lake was also developed at that time to offer the local population an accessible recreational area during the Great Depression. Currently, the lake is stocked with several local species of catfish, blue gill and bass. What a peaceful, zen atmosphere! Fall is definitely the time of year to visit with the display of Nature's Colors.

I…read morehad never been here before, but my sister asked me if I wanted to go and take my kids for some fun. The entrance comes up quickly when you're driving, so make sure you don't miss it! We immediately went to the park, and my kids had an absolute blast. They're 3 and 1, but I saw plenty of older kids having fun as well. We checked out the lake, which was super pretty (watch out for goose poop!). I noticed some people fishing, and it looked like there were canoes around too! We then decided to have some lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables, so finding a spot to sit is not a problem. We ended the visit with one more trip to the park and then left. My kids were EXHAUSTED afterward, and I always appreciate a place that can tire them out. I'd like to visit again on a solo trip and walk a few miles around the lake next time!

Recently came here to walk dogs with out of state colleagues. This place exceeded my expectations…read morewhen it came to a beautiful walk. There's a nearby park that has alot of activities for kids, decent restrooms and even canoe rentals. We hiked the entire trail around the pond and it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. It can be really muddy depending on when you go. Structures are in solid standing. Trail features small slopes so it's not completely flat. Great place to visit.
