The trail is mainly concrete at the onset, so this can be a little harder on your feet. What I enjoy most, is watching happy dogs, walking the trail with their owners! People are very friendly here and will say hello. This park is connected to a beautiful town, where people are that friendly, so don't be alarmed! On a Sunday afternoon, you will find lots of runners passing you and bicycles too, so just be careful and stay to the right.

We are very fortunate to have a nice lake like this located down the road from us. The employees are always very helpful and pleasant. You can buy an annual pass and take your boat out whenever you want during the open season!! Their days and hours have changed because of Covid so I'm not sure of them off hand. This lake to me is is just the right size where it isn't too big and it's not too small!! I like being able to see land so anywhere on this lake you can see land. It isn't crowded so you feel like you are out there by yourself. It is very peaceful as quiet. You just hear the birds, the sound of water and of course your bait hitting the water after you cast your line :-) Maybe we will see ya out there!!

Staff was hostile, dismissive, and unprofessional…read more At the gate, my husband's vehicle was checked, and he was asked, "Are you going to be shitting in those buckets?" We had wag bags for a portable toilet. It was an unnecessarily rude and unprofessional way to speak to a guest. After that, another staff member directed him into a campsite that was extremely difficult to maneuver into. When he attempted to reposition the vehicle, no assistance was offered, and he ended up backing into a tree. The restroom situation was also disappointing. The portable toilets were unsanitary and appeared insufficient for the number of attendees. The final straw came the next morning when staff told him he had to take down his pop-up changing/privacy tent, claiming the health department would shut Nelson Ledges down if it remained. We reviewed the posted rules and could not find anything prohibiting changing tents or wag bags. Rather than explaining the concern respectfully, staff were dismissive and confrontational. After everything that had already happened, he packed up and left early. Before posting this review, I reached out to Nelson Ledges by both email and Facebook Messenger in hopes of discussing what happened. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I understand festivals can be hectic, and I don't expect perfection. I do expect guests to be treated with basic courtesy and for legitimate concerns to be acknowledged. Hopefully management takes customer feedback more seriously in the future and works to improve both staff interactions and the overall guest experience.

Large pond is suitable for fishing from a rowboat or canoe. As of Aug 2015 most of the hiking trails are "closed for maintenance." Lots of Canada Geese around who have left evidence of their presence all around the edges of the lake. This is a very quiet , serene place. If you are a birdwatcher or like fishing this may be very interesting for you. The picnic area has a nice view of the pond, which probably looks pretty eery on a misty morning.. Be sure to check out the State Nature Preserve next door (parking lot anf access from Mill road) which has a number of hiking trails.

Very intentional signage, recreation / playground, swing bench seating, and restroom facilities all make the beach-going experience better. Huntington Beach has less of a crowd in the Winter, but it is just as alluring a Summertime visits. Huntington Beach is directly across the street from the local forest and nature center (part of the Cleveland MetroParks).

Let's see, they had ribs, hamburgers, vegan-friendly veggie burgers, potato salad, baked beans, brownies, watermelon and the list goes on! I am always impressed with their soda selection! Diet cream soda does it for me every time! They have a nice, manned lake with paddle boats and canoes. There are a few different playgrounds, most of which, are in the shade. They recently added larger-than-life wooden rockers! There is a little area where kids can redeem tickets for prizes. The soft-served ice cream (vegan, by the way!) and cold novelties are always a hit! They provide hayrides which offer great history of the park and family that owns it. You'll see softball fields and many photo opportunities in the gazebo, pavilion and around the lake. The restrooms are very clean! So, go visit this wonderful, scenic, family-owned gem! It stunk so bad I didn't want to put my head under. Literally felt like I was swimming in Mogadore Lake. The bottom is mushy and a weird green algae/muck comes up every time you walk in the water. The edges are so slippery with algae I almost fell a couple times. It's actually unsafe. Also theres a weird white film on top of the water. Disgusting! There's turtles swimming in the deep end. Where is the chlorine? $20 a piece to not be able to swim in the deep end or get on the diving boards. Very very disappointing. To be honest, I don't think will ever return. It's really went downhill. Sad..

Bridle paths are through grassy areas into the trees. Several families were fishing in the lakes where we saw lots of turtles, frogs and water birds. In the woods are a lot of old shaggy bark trees, and skunk cabbage all over the ground. In the trees we saw Downy woodpeckers and other birds. There is also an open shelter house , small playground and restrooms. Lots of people were having picnics. This is a very nice place.
