I…read morehad never been here before, but my sister asked me if I wanted to go and take my kids for some fun. The entrance comes up quickly when you're driving, so make sure you don't miss it! We immediately went to the park, and my kids had an absolute blast. They're 3 and 1, but I saw plenty of older kids having fun as well. We checked out the lake, which was super pretty (watch out for goose poop!). I noticed some people fishing, and it looked like there were canoes around too! We then decided to have some lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables, so finding a spot to sit is not a problem. We ended the visit with one more trip to the park and then left. My kids were EXHAUSTED afterward, and I always appreciate a place that can tire them out. I'd like to visit again on a solo trip and walk a few miles around the lake next time!

Recently came here to walk dogs with out of state colleagues. This place exceeded my expectations…read morewhen it came to a beautiful walk. There's a nearby park that has alot of activities for kids, decent restrooms and even canoe rentals. We hiked the entire trail around the pond and it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. It can be really muddy depending on when you go. Structures are in solid standing. Trail features small slopes so it's not completely flat. Great place to visit.

Brandywine Falls located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of my favorite places to hike…read more The Brandywine Falls area is easy to access, the main parking lot is located on Brandywine Road and is next to the falls themselves. There is a bathroom and water fountain here, so it is a nice stop on the bike and hike trail which passes by the falls. The falls is the tallest, one of the largest and most visited falls in Ohio, it is also one of the highlights of the National Park. The park has created a boardwalk that allows you to go into the gorge and get some great views of the falls. The boardwalk does have some steep stairs and you should be careful on your way down and back up. The falls is very picturesque and will give you different looks depending on the amount of water in the stream, the time of the year and the time of day. While the falls are great I really enjoy the hikes that are available in connection with the falls. The hikes take you down the gorge and there is a bridge that allows you to cross the stream and come back up the other side. The South side hike is a bit away from the stream and is mainly through the woods on hard dirt trails; there is a bit of ups and downs including some stairs and stream crossings on bridges. The North side trail is along the river and gorge and is steeper and can be a bit of a scramble. The total loop is about 1 1/2 miles with a nice bit of vertical for its length. You can also do longer hikes to the Stanford House or the Boston Mills visitor center. One of the things I enjoy is seeing the falls and the gorge in different seasons. During the summer the lot is usually full during most of the day, the gorge offers a rather cool and shady area when the day is hot. Fall has the changing leaves and cooler temperatures. Winter creates a whole different look. Finally, spring gives you the rushing stream and the transition from winter to summer. If you haven't been to Brandywine Falls you need to plan a visit, if you haven't been there recently it is well worth a return visit.

Fun part of Cuyahoga Valley, apparently it's one of the main draws for this national park…read more There are a few trails, including a loop around the falls that's under two miles, with a little bit of an incline but still not overly challenging. There's also a bike trail leading out from the trailhead to other parts of the valley. The falls were there. I suppose for this region they're a sight to behold, but if you've been to other waterfalls in pretty much any other part of the country/world, these won't be too impressive. Pleasant enough area for a shorter hike and cool geology.

This free admission park consists of a large pond (or small lake?) and a couple smaller ones in a…read moreheavily wooded very tranquil wetland area , , some hiking trails, an archery range, primitive restrooms, a large covered picnic shelter. Large pond is suitable for fishing from a rowboat or canoe. As of Aug 2015 most of the hiking trails are "closed for maintenance." Lots of Canada Geese around who have left evidence of their presence all around the edges of the lake. This is a very quiet , serene place. If you are a birdwatcher or like fishing this may be very interesting for you. The picnic area has a nice view of the pond, which probably looks pretty eery on a misty morning.. Be sure to check out the State Nature Preserve next door (parking lot anf access from Mill road) which has a number of hiking trails.

Thank to paved & dirt paths, this is a park accessible to everyone. With palvillions and grills…read moreclose to the parking lot, this is an ideal place for a small party or picnic. There is also a baseball diamond and large fields nearby, a play ground for the little ones and a cute overlook hidden deeper in the forest. Although the paths can get pretty muddy, they're easy to explore and offer a visual masterpiece of fungi & mushrooms. There is also a floating dock, and two entrances to the park. The dirt paths weren't marked very well so it's easy to get off track but you can't miss the paved path that hugs the edge of the forest. This place is also dog friendly as well.

There is also a large overlook where you can sit & enjoy the view. However, the view was a bit frustrating as the entire pond had large amounts of trash surrounding the edges. You can fish here but it is strictly catch & release. Although, other than a large amount of dead snails & fish I'm not sure what you'll find. I realize the pond was low but this should make it all the more easier to maintain. There are at least two trails winding through the woods but it's difficult to tell which path you're on on where to go. The only signage marking the paths are random planks of badly weathered wood with dull red or blue paint. Some are broken and lying at the base of trees, others were attached to trunks but blended in with the bark. Perhaps new signs with bright colors would be more suitable for visitors. The trails are wide dirt paths with very few obstructions, however you might get stuck in the mud if it's damp out...I would not recommend these trails if you're in a wheelchair. Towards the back of the property is an ugly cookie cutter development- such an eye sore! And the trails are littered with broken benches but are very quiet & relaxing. There's even a neat old fireplace and a few pavilions with grills. It also offers a large playground and huge field. I think if the park was cleaned up a bit & things were fixed it would be one I would return to regularly.

We usually take the path through the seven ponds that's across the street from the parking lot. You start on a path through the woods and then it meanders through the ponds to loop back. We usually take the short trail from the parking lot to the eagle's nest lookout. We saw the eagle's nest on our most recent trip but no eagles. It's a short and flat walk that would be good for all ages. It was a little muddy last time but not too bad. Check it out if you're in the area and looking to get outside!

It is basically a large field wedged in between two cookie cutter developments. And since most of the half million dollar houses in these plastic little neighborhoods don't actually have yards this is one big community plot. If you have small children then this park does have a great playground and a large shelter house that would be a secluded location for a large event. However, the lone baseball diamond & might as well be non existent trail are just sad.
