I will only leave them in the care of a two individuals. 1. My daughters and 2. Longwood Vet. My pups are all bully breeds and in most cases they are treated as dangerous. I've never experienced this when taking them to the vet. The staff will get on the floor to be on the dog's level. They cater to the personally of each pet. Five stars for a great first visit. Due to COVID, they ask for you to drive to the side of the building and park at a designated spot with a number. You call them once you arrive and they come get your pet. After the exam, the vet gives you a call and discusses the examination and any concerns. I will admit that I'm a bit of a high maintenance pet mom. I have actually walked into LVC crying because my newly adopted cat's stitches had opened up and she was scared and in pain and it broke my heart. I was being absolutely ridiculous but everyone on staff was so compassionate and caring. They understood how I felt and did everything they could to calm both of us down. Since then I have come back with another cat who had a respiratory infection. One of my favorite things about LVC is they take you back to the exam room immediately and you stay for the whole visit. This means no stressed out pets in the waiting room or at the check out desk. The cat or dog has freedom to roam around the room and get comfortable before seeing the vet, and it makes a huge difference. They get you checked out in that room, bring the necessary medications, and then you walk out with a calm pet who's already starting to feel better. read more

We've been patients here with our three animals for over two years. We had originally enjoyed the service and the quality of care from the various doctors we saw. But we had a single concern. Here's a little backstory. Recently one of our pets needed a renewal on a prescription that he has been on for 7 years with at least three other veterinarians prescribing it for him and allowing us to administer it at home with a Costco filled prescription. We asked them to give us a refill on this prescription and they only offered to administer it in the office at a cost per dose that was equal to the bottle cost we would buy it for at the pharmacy. So we called around to other veterinarians to see if there was one willing to give us a prescription for this medication. We found more than a few that were able to do this, however in shopping for other services we also found that Longwood veterinary clinic was also charging significantly more for their standard inoculations and vaccinations, as well as their service fees. This variance and cost across multiple animals adds up as fellow pet owners know too well. Up until that point we hadn't considered cost or shopping around because we were happy with the service. Fast forward a few months, and having now seen all of their practicing veterinarians we were concerned that their knowledge and experience wasn't equal to the most senior veterinarian who no longer sees patients directly. Like the rest of this review this was based on our opinion and experience. Shocked by the difference in price compared to at least six other local veterinarian offices that are also well reviewed, and coupled with our concerns about experience and knowledge, I posted a review of Longwood veterinary clinic on Google complimenting their quality of care while pointing out for others the two concerns mentioned above and gave them a 3 star rating of average, not terrible, not horrible, but average. They replied to my review as one might with some passive aggressive words, while not acknowledging or defending all the points I made. And I replied in kind clarifying my points further as I wasn't angry and simply sharing my opinion. Fast forward a few more months, and we make an appointment with Longwood veterinary clinic for one of our older cats who is nearing end-of-life and is on perpetual medication, and has been in their care for the past 2 years. 9 days go by, and 24 hours before our scheduled appointment we receive a call from Longwood veterinary clinic letting us know that they would encourage us to find a different veterinary clinic because they didn't like our review essentially. I explained that the review was not unfair or inaccurate, or mean, merely average as a score with qualifiers as to why. She explained that she had not read our review but that doctor Marrinson had simply asked her to call us and tell us we were no longer welcome. We complimented them online, were critical of certain areas, paid the bill every time, and brought multiple animals to them for years. The response for that was to inconvenience us in the largest effort they could make and let us know 9 days after making an appointment to get medication renewed for a pet who needs it, that we would have to look elsewhere. They did this knowing full well that it would be a few weeks before we could get a new patient exam at another clinic and get the needed medication. They knew this full well because I reminded the woman who was calling to cancel our appointment that it would be the case. I asked for them to at least renew the medication so we can get the cat the treatment she needed, and the woman on the phone was unaccommodating. Had they been willing to work with us on this last appointment to get a cat a prescription renewal that would have taken 20 minutes at most, then asked us to go elsewhere, I wouldn't have felt so disappointed and would have just gone to another clinic without much regret. But this is the icing on the cake for us, putting an animal's health at risk because of hurt feelings over an average Google review is beyond the parameters of professionalism, and if this was a situation with a human patient they would be at risk of being guilty of abandonment of care. Alas it's only animals, and now I know they prioritize ego over animals. I wasn't angry before this situation escalated into what it did, and I'm not angry now.... I'm sorry they are clearly so petty, and would never and will never suggest anyone visit this clinic based on our cumulative experience over the past 2 years, and how they handled their termination of our business. read more

Absolutely amazing vets and staff!! They are so wonderful and thoughtful. I brought in a sick cat and they got us in the same day and they were very upfront with the prices. No surprises... Sure, they are not cheap, definitely reasonable... I've done the cheap vet, you get what you pay for. They really care, and will go above and beyond to help. The vet techs are also outstanding, gotta give a shot out to Roo and Joshua. Both fabulous bedside manner and my pets fell in love with them. Even my old grumpy chihuahua. I even used Roo as a Pet sitter when I went out if town. We can't say enough wonderful things about this establishment and the people who work there. I just visited this clinic for the first time this past week. I have a cat that was experiencing signs of an upper respiratory infection. From appointment scheduling to the actual visit, the staff could not have been more caring and professional. They were able to take my cat the very next day after I made my appointment and were prompt in getting me in. The doctor and her staff handled my very wily cat with patience and kindness. I will definitely be bringing my other pets to this clinic and highly recommend to others. I had been using another nearby clinic for over 20 years but was very disappointed with the cold businesslike manner in which they now handle scheduling of visits even with longstanding customers. Here are the facts: I requested the already pricey Bravecto which was unavailable without an in-office exam. What I got was "Bravecto" @ $50.00 plus "Program", an additional $89.00. Factor in the explanation for using both, for $399.00 one could reasonably expect dinner and dancing. I expect to pay in full for services rendered but having already swallowed hard, the coupe de resistance of "pet insurance" that wouldn't pay for any of the previous laundry list of "my options" was a bit too "casting couch" for my tastes. The ream of paper expended in your "defense" is a further indication that my review touched a raw nerve. What could you have done better? Perhaps filling my immediate needs then suggesting I return for further consultation on my pet-parent future would have resulted in the exact same cost outcome but at my own suggestion. My plan is to call and discuss whether you understand my sensibilities or if you would rather I pursue other pet care opportunities. I fully expect to pay professionals for their time but what good is insurance that would not cover any of the regular services one would require? I am a responsible pet parent who routinely cares for pets 10 - 20 years or more. read more

My current financial situation is slightly difficult and upon communicating that to them- they made a treatment plan that suited my pets needs along with my financial needs. They have called me a total of 5 times since my visit to check in on Mylo and have not given up on checking in regardless of my failure to answer the phone. All of my questions are always answered in a timely manner and the doctor is very logical in exhausting all options to ensure Mylos well-being. He has a very unique case and the doctor went out of her way to consult with her other colleagues and ensure we were acting in his best interest. Dr. Marble and Christina have been amazing with my very LOUD, fearful black and tan coonhound, Delilah. She gets so scared going to the vet, that we had to go twice to complete her annual exam. The first time, Dr. Marble and Christina spent quite a bit of time just talking to her and giving her treats. After determining that anything more could make for a bad experience, they suggested I come back for round two a few days later. On the second visit, Delilah felt more comfortable outside, so Dr. Marble decided to switch things up and did her exam and vaccinations in a nice grassy spot in the shade. This clinic accepted and treated my son's dog Oscar who was having a severe respiratory problem although he's not a regular patient and their schedule was so full. Before this clinic, we tried Oscar's regular vet to take him despite full schedule, plus three other vets close to Maitland, and none of them took him in. Recently, I had to switch veterinarians for my dog, DJ. He was almost 18 years old and completely deaf. I was very concerned about his diminishing eyesight and some puzzling digestive problems; I also suspected the onset of canine dementia: in short, DJ appeared to be entering the final stage of his life. Dr. Janae Umbaugh and her colleagues at LVC embraced me and DJ as if they had been his veterinarians since his birth. Frankly, I was not accustomed to the levels of professionalism, patience, and compassion that everyone at LVC demonstrated towards me and my dog. Because of DJ's advanced age and increasing problems, our visits and consultations were frequent and sometimes unplanned, but the Clinic always found a way to make time for us. And every time I spoke with Dr. Umbaugh, without exception, she made me feel as though there were absolutely no other patients on her agenda besides DJ. That is a skill few doctors--of any kind--have developed. Dr. Umbaugh did all she could, and when I finally reached the point, earlier this week, that I had to admit to myself that DJ's discomfort required me to summon the loving courage to say goodbye to him, she and her colleagues supported us in a most gentle and sympathetic manner. This is an astonishingly competent group of professionals. I am very grateful that I found them. DJ could not have received better care. read more

I took my Chihuahua here for a injured eye. It was during Covid so I didn't get to go in which is always unnerving. The tech that meet us in car was very pleasant and explained what was going to be happening. The Dr then called and discussed everything by phone. She was also very pleasant and friendly. It was a good visit for what it was. I used the first time yelp coupon and they happily applied it to bill. I do think that phone visits should get a bit of a discount but all things considered it was a great experience for these strange times. read more

I've only been here once but it was a pretty good experience and I've been to plenty of 'bad vets' to make me wary of going somewhere new. We just moved to Altamonte and our previous vet that I love is just too far away now. It was really easy to make an appointment over the phone. The receptionist I talked to was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my cat, Tot (like tater tot) asked thorough questions about his health history etc. So I sent my boyfriend to take my fur baby in (his first time on vet duty) so I wouldn't have to take time off of work. He said they didn't have to wait too long to see the vet and the vet techs were gushing over what a handsome boy he is (the cat, not my bf lol). They ran a urinalysis and did not find any infection and sent him home with a full bill of health. Since we recently moved, Tot has been occasionally peeing outside the litter box, which is unlike him, so we wanted to rule out an infection. All in all, it was a $200 trip to find out that my cat is stressed. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I really wanted to leave this one because the staff at Longwood Vet Clinic really came to my rescue today. I just moved to Longwood and my usual vet is in another area, but when my dog had a sudden and acute seizure today I asked Siri to navigate to the nearest animal hospital, and I was taken to LVC. From the moment I frantically walked in to this establishment that I had never been to before, cradling my poor puppy, they were so incredibly helpful. They quickly showed me to a room and after taking some brief info, sent the dr right in to see him. While we were there my dog had another seizure and they immediately rushed over to make him as comfortable as possible. They rushed through some tests and let us stay there for hours while they observed him. Unfortunately, the prognosis for my little boy is not good. But while I deal with whatever comes next, I will be doing it with Longwood Veterinary Clinic. And I'll be taking my other dog there from now on, as well. The staff is so kind, caring and thorough. Especially Jessica and Dr. Ehlers. I highly recommend them for your fur babies. Ps as I was writing this they called to check up on him. And as we hung up they said "ok, talk to you tomorrow!". I may be the lone bad review here, but I have my reasons. All the positive reviews sent us here when we moved to the area. Upon making my first appointment, I was told that we needed to bring all our records with us- which is fine- but I'm used to the facility contacting the previous place and getting what they need. Our appointment was weeks out, but this office literally called me once a day approaching the appointment 'reminding me' they wanted the records before the appointment. This also meant I would have to drive there before the appointment and drop them off. At the time I was pregnant and had a toddler, not my number one priority. Anywho, we handled that, they saw our pup and told us he absolutely needed his teeth cleaned and when we needed our heart worm meds, to just give them a call and we could order them online with their prescription. Well, fast forward a few weeks and the daily calls about scheduling his teeth cleaning began. The first call was to let us know they didn't have many appointments and to hurry. Then the following calls were, we have openings, let's schedule it. Geez Louise. I now have a newborn and toddler, and need to order his heart worm from petmeds. We go through the motions, and these people call me and tell me they won't do it?! Huh?! I have to come in and get the paper prescription to then snail mail petmeds. That was it for me. Beyond obnoxious. My husband stopped by to get the records because he was in the area so we could transfer to another vet down the road, and they gave him a huff and puff attitude. Good riddance. And to top it off, this vet says our pup has great teeth and a cleaning is unnecessary at this time. That speaks VOLUMES. All they care about is your money.I have been taking my dogs here for years but always found them to be expensive.They charged me 800 dollars to remove some of my dogs teeth years ago after they gave me an estimate of 500 to eight hundred depending on what they would find once she was under anesthesia.It ended up being eight hundred thirty something .The next time they wanted to neuter my new dog Leo and gave me some outrageous estimate.I believe it was five something.they were going to pull his puppy teeth and microchip him as well.He is still not neutered.Many times in the consultation rooms they were pushy by trying to sell me the bloodwork.I paid for the bloodwork once and my dog was not cooperating.They told me to bring her back in for the bloodwork but sent me home with some anxiety medication that was fifty something.I took both my dogs for camping a few months back and they came back ok so I thought I would try them again.Big mistake!!!My dog came back making these horrible sounds like she was struggling to breathe.It sounded like pig noises.I always use a harness on both of my dogs.Little dogs specially Yorkshire terriers have fragile tracheas.I called them to tell them what was going on and I also asked them what was used to walk them.She put me on hold to go ask petcare and she said they used their leash.I went to the appointment and the first thing I did was show them a video that I took when she first got home after their camping with them. The vet started playing some video on her computer and said it sounded like it was reversed sneezing.Her assistant said his dog had that and that he always walks his dog with a harness.I asked again what was used to walk them tge week they were there and once again he showed me this leash that is just one piece.She checked her and told me she had a heart murmur.I told her I wanted to make sure it was not her trachea and she said ultrasound does not always show a collapsed trachea .I told her I was really worried about her trachea and she said I will write here on my notes that they are to use harnesses always on their next camping.I felt my face flushing and started getting upset.I told her once again that I think her trachea should be checked.She turned to her computer and said okay,let's see,this X-ray is going to be three hundred.At this point coco started doing something weird and the vet said it was something dogs do when they get nauseous.She then offered some pills for the nausea.She asked what I wanted to do and I told her I was confused because she just told me ultrasound doesn't always show a collapsed trachea.she then said let me go get the pills .I ended up just leaving because they were not going to admit that they probably caused this.I spoke to manager after and she lied and said coco was walked with pink harness .I told her I was upset that my dog now has this because of their stupidity.She said they are not taking responsibility for anything and that I was not welcomed at their place anymore.I just booked appointment with another vet to get her trachea checked .Coco is still doing this and I feel awful because it seems like she is suffering.Please be careful with these vets and don't take your babies there because they are not honest.I never write reviews on anything but I felt I had to write this because I don't want other dogs to get hurt.I almost forgot to mention her bark is not the same and when I said something about it they said it was because dogs bark a lot while boarding.Her bark is so hoarse and when I looked up what it could be,One of the reasons was collapsed trachea.I am so sad and worried. read more

Decided to try this place out after a year of taking my cat to the same vet regarding the same problem with no clear answers or resolution. The yelp reviews were right, this place was wonderful! I felt like everyone who worked here was genuinely concerned about my cat and treated her like she was their own. They wrapped her in a blanket, gave her kitty treats, gave her lots of pet-pets and sweet talked the hell out of her to the point I wasn't sure my cat would want to leave. Dr. Marble was professional and great about explaining things. I didn't feel like she was ordering any unnecessary tests or trying to upsell me on any products. I felt the pricing was fair and the treatment plan was geared towards getting me a healthy kitty. Just came back from my first visit at this clinic and we had a great visit. It was halloween when I scheduled my appointment so seeing everyone dressed up in character was a treat! When I first moved to the area two years ago I found this clinic through Yelp. I'm so glad I did because the entire staff is great! They write out the names of the pets on a chalkboard to greet you when you arrive which is too cute! The front desk staff are always super friendly and helpful. I have seen Doctors Marble and Conley and they are both great! Before doing any procedures or vaccines they go over everything in detail with you including the prices. Nothing is done without your consent or prior authorization. They make recommendations and give you the print outs but don't pressure you to make a decision right there and then. I found their prices to be fair and average. They have very convenient hours including Saturday appointments. I also love that you don't need an appointment for pedicures, which my dog needs every month. read more
