Why did they keep it all these years? If they already had a copy, Why were they making me pay for data scans/emails repeatedly? I can't say if it's legal or not, but I can say that your information is not safe with L&P. ---Original Review---- L& P is a fairly large firm with some very well known attorneys and a ton of junior staff. Here is my first hand experience with the firm: 1 - on time and highly responsive 2 - take a consultative approach providing guidance at every step 3 - very process/procedure oriented 4 - have the best interest of L&P on mind, not the client's 5 - recommend useless work that will cost you 1000s of dollars 6 - continuously set lower expectations and then claim victory when even a little bit is accomplished. 7 - make no attempt to bring your case to a decent conclusion because they make more money if it drags on Real Example - After I fired L&P, my new attorney was able to create, negotiate and sign an order in the court during just one status conference. The whole thing took less than an hour. With L&P, similar effort would take up to 6 weeks and at least $10,000! Go find yourself a more aggressive lawyer who will fight for you. I cannot give my opinion on this law firm regarding living trusts. Maybe they are capable of doing that. But one thing I can tell you positively if you are looking for a divorce attorney do not use this law firm. I let them represent me for three years, unfortunately I didn't have enough sense to get out sooner before they took everything they could financially from me and no progress with ever made. They continually blamed the other party for not producing things, but yet they never did anything about it. I hope that I can save at least one person from going through what I went through. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! This is a review of my experience using Mitch Ehrlich as a divorce attorney. In 2013 I was in the middle of a divorce with an angry ex. I had difficulty getting Mitch to move my case along. Multiple times Mitch came to court unprepared. After about the 3rd court appearance with Mitch not being prepared, I started prodding him in advance of going to court. I wanted to move my case along so I asked Mitch about the CPA to figure out assets. Mitch said he would set that up. After a couple of weeks of asking Mitch to *start* the process of using a CPA to figure out assets, I directly contacted the CPA to start the process. At the next court appearance the judge asked "What's being done to get this case done?". Mitch said "Nothing". There was a long moment of silence in the court and surprised looks on the judge's face, the court clerk's face, and the opposing counsel's faces (even my ex who I don't get along with later told me she was shocked). Finally, Mitch said we are doing things like contacting the CPA. Mitch didn't do that! I did that because I couldn't get him to! After about 10 months and $100,000 in billings, I asked Mitch what was needed to get my case done. He didn't actually know and had to stop and think about it for a while. I'm $100,000 in and he hasn't bothered to sketch out a plan to get my case done??? That is when I fired him. read more

Not an honest law firm. Avoid at all costs. Run not walk away from this law firm. They had me call police officers for months for spouse breaking court orders and this law firm did nothing to enforce the court orders. Also avoid private judging with this law firm with ADR or anyone else. read more

Used this firm back in 2011 and I would not recommend! They took a $5,000 retainer and constantly needs to be replenished which can make you go poor very quickly. It's a large firm so I thought hey maybe they can help me. They only cost me time and money. They set you up for tactics of only taking more money. Since then I had found another law firm which was half the cost-actually in the end was 1/3 the cost and they helped me with a even more complex custody move away order. Don't go here! They are nice but they will bleed you dry. 2 stars for getting me somewhere but I would no go back. I hired Mitch and he pushed my case to Julia Lemmon. Just take my word and go elsewhere. read more

However, after the initial meeting, they sat on my case for a couple of months and did nothing and no communication. Because of this it created other complications that compounded the situation. [Originally posted to Avvo, copied from there] I went in for a consultation with "Mitch" today and instead of encountering a polished professional I instead found an overbearing blowhard whose incompetence shouted louder than the volume of his voice. It became apparent that I was more informed than he assumed (at one point I had to interrupt him -it was impossible to get a word or questions in- and say "lets just assume I have a baseline understanding of these concepts") because he was wasting my time blathering on and on. But it was additionally apparent that I was more informed than him on a few points, including the Hague convention which he claimed to be familiar with (among other things.) Here is the note I sent to the admin after this absurd use of my time: "Hi [name redacted - the admin was lovely], Thank you for setting up the consultation. However, I might suggest reserving those for other attorneys. Mitchell was a jerk - mansplaining simple concepts and generally wasting my time. I could hardly get my specific questions in and instead had to listen to him wax philosophical about scenarios with zero likelihood of ever occurring. Once he was done listening to himself speak he ushered me out the door. It was a complete waste of my time." That ushering me out the door was after my questions started to dig into the vague, hand-wavy reasons he offered as to why his initial estimate of billable hours could end up being extended. If you speak with this attorney, be discerning; he clearly wasn't ready for that. As a final note, "my name is on the door" is truly not a good replacement for credibility, which was so pathetically lost here. read more
