The gal at the front desk ( her name is Lisa Andriano ) squeezed me in somehow ; and I saw Dr Di Marco ! The office is immaculate and was super busy that day ! Lisa ( who I later found out was the Clinic Manager ) somehow saw me in distress ,got me in quickly ,and ,my issue was resolved ! Dr Di Marco is brilliant, "thorough" , and so calming to talk to .. I have been through cataract surgery , regular visits and my eyes have improved immensely! I've had two appointments with Dr Osler and both times he's been amazing. The appointments are…read moremuch longer than I expect 'cause he takes the time to carry out the tests properly, not just stop when the hour is up. When I first saw him, my prescription was too strong and I didn't even know I had an astigmatism. Turns out it was both eyes! Dr Osler was able to find the perfect prescription that works for distance and also for reading and computer use, though don't ask me to explain 'cause I couldn't. Although when he explained it made perfect sense, I should have just recorded it. While waiting for drops to kick in and dilate my pupils, mid-way through the appointment, we had great conversation (and coffee during the last visit) that was worth the trip. While I'm there I always wish I was better at school and could go back and do things over and become an Optometrist. That's how great he is at what he does and how reverent he is about his profession, that it rubs off on you.

Dr. Mustafa Rawji has been my Optometrist for 8 years and I have found him to be very personable and professional. He truly cares about one thing...the health of your eyes. During my last visit he recommended additional tests which I elected to take resulting in the early detection of the possibility of glaucoma. Even the eye specialist he recommended was unsure of my condition but I am being properly treated regarding the above. Thank you Dr. Rawji! Priscilla at front reception has over 4 years service with Scarborough Optometry and knows her stuff! She is very warm and friendly and will answer all your queries without hesitation. Her positive and relaxed attitude sets the tone for a very serene visit to this clinic. Lastly, perhaps the most overlooked member of this very functional team is the clinic's resident Optician, Patti. I have always hated wearing glasses and during my last visit I asked Patti to select my frames...I could not be more pleased! My wife also loves them! I also purchased contact lenses as previously recommended by Patti and they are the most comfortable lenses that I have worn in 30 years! I have had some of my prescriptions filled by large optical marts in the past but due to problems I have returned my business back to Scarborough Optometry. Unlike the optical marts, Scarborough Optometry will recommend lenses and products that are best for YOU, not for THEM. My son has also been a client for several years! Highly, highly recommended!

Booked an appointment for my teenage son to have eye exam at Bailey Nelson Queen East in Toronto…read more After the exam yesterday the doctor did not want to speak with me. I actually tried to speak with her. I thought that was odd. The manager of the store relayed the message that my son could benefit from Blue Light glasses. We then went through the process of selecting those. Fast forward to this afternoon. The store manager calls, leaves a voicemail, telling me that they have made a referral and that my 15 year old knows about it. He didn't. I call back and ask what's up. I'm told that the doctor, in an abundance of caution, is concerned enough to refer my son to another level of clinic to assess the issue that he brought to their attention. The manager called because she felt the doctor behaved oddly by not speaking to me. While I'm happy for the referral, I am a bit disappointed that, between the doctor and the store manager, I was expected to hear of the doctor's concern via a teenage boy. Anyway, all of this is to say you may want to consider a different shop. In my experience optometrists elsewhere do actually speak with parents of kids about what is necessary to keep the kids healthy. This place sort of does that, though you may have to wait 24 hours and hope that the manager comes to feel a bit off about the doctor to the point of calling to let you know herself

My optometrist was friendly and very informative of what was causing my eye discomfort. She took the time to explain and showed videos to make sure I understood and offered advice on how to take care of my eyes at home. The inside of the store was clean and the other staff members were attentive and nice. I personally didn't have time to browse the shop for glasses but they do provide 30 minutes after your exam to look and try frames. Everything is operating by appointment only but it's easy to book it on their website. I plan to return in the future to try on glasses and recommend anyone to go visit too!

I was told yes and that all I had to do was submit my receipt to my insurer. I was not told that they only work within a group of insurers who fully cover their services. I had to pay a portion out of pocket. Then I was given a fuzzy diagnosis. Maybe I should get reading glasses maybe I shouldn't. My vision is just starting to get blurry. I was given a prescription without the PD so I can't order reading glasses online. I requested the PD and they told me they couldn't legally give it to me. Then when I noted it was required they give me all health information they claimed they didn't take the PD measurement. Maybe they didn't take the measurement but their first reaction was to withhold it. I would expect my eye doctor to actually care about helping me improve my vision maybe even offer to measure the pupil distance. Now I will have to take my own measurement and hope i get it right so I can order reading glasses online. I will definitely go elsewhere next time.

Unprofessional place--avoid at all costs!!!…read more I had an eye exam here, and they made a glaring error: my right eye axis was off by 20 degrees. Small differences can happen, but 20 degrees is unacceptable for a place that claims to be professional. Even then, I wasn't angry. The real nightmare started when I checked my glasses. I bought a handcrafted frame from Japan for more than $800 after tax--fragile, unique, and something I truly cherish. On the day they tried to "fix" their axis mistake, instead of handling it properly, they decided to bend my frame without my consent. Now it's distorted, misshapen, and looks awful. They brushed it off as a "small adjustment." How ridiculous! Who bends a fragile Japanese frame to fix an optical prescription error?! I'm devastated and deeply disappointed by the way they treat their customers. And yes--it was Dr. Rebecca, the same name that appears in many other one-star reviews. Also, after few rounds of communication, the clinic refused to admit their mistake, still saying their intention was good, and the issue was small. The most irresponsible clinic I've ever encountered. A complete joke.
