They use a service I provide to make tributes for families. I've personally seen them go out of their way to make a funeral truly special getting to know the families and helping them celebrate their life passions and interests. I even asked them about the one star review knowing how much a single bad review can hurt a business, and it appeared that they investigated and it wasn't even a service that they provided. They reached out to the reviewer and they didn't respond. Do not hesitate to use this home. They are kind, compassionate and though there level of service would be worth every penny, they are very affordable. There staff is truly wonderful. I never write reviews but I'm pleased to write this one for them. They deserve it.

We caught one and gave it to one of the employees and their response was that they spray for them and that maybe one of our guests brought them in!!! We only went to visit my friend's ailing mother, who was on hospice; only to have to make quick decisions about her mother's final remain within week's time. Kiley, the representative of the Cremation Society that we had the pleasure of engaging with was EVER SO DELIGHTFUL, INFORMATIVE, PATIENT, COMPASSIONATE and all the other pleasant personality descriptors that you'd need at a time like this. She provided many alternatives and options and gave us time to decide which one best fit our current situation. From the time the hospice facility called on our behalf, up until today, 2 weeks later, Kiley has been in touch and providing status updates on the remains of my friend's mother. I can say, this was one of the best visits to a mortuary/crematory that I've had AND truly saying a lot!!!! The faculty was clean and quiet, I mean if it wasn't quiet, I might have been spooked out a little bit. The staff was pleasant, warm and calm in their disposition. There was a black cat that was in the building, I found out he/she was a rescue cat of sorts and has managed to capture the hearts of the staff, so now it's ( didn't find out the gender) a permanent fixture at the place. Ample parking and they operate by appointments... guess that makes sense, allows time for families to ask all the necessary questions, make selections and come to terms with the finality of the situation... well at least it did for us. Interesting note, you can WATCH the cremation of your loved one. At first I found that to be kind of creepy, but after thinking it through, I get it; not sure if I could do it, but I understand the desire to do so. Kudos to Kiley, the cat(s), because I believe there were two of them & the Cremation Society for a job well done when handling such a sensitive end of life event.

I utilized House of Day Funeral Services for my grandmother's funeral, which took place…read moreapproximately 10 days ago. I reside in Texas, but spent the last three years traveling to Toledo to provide 24/7 care for my grandmother for approximately two weeks each month until her passing. I was assigned Funeral Director Michael K. Day Jr. Unfortunately, my experience was marked by repeated errors, poor communication, and a lack of organization during one of the most difficult times for my family. 1. Failure to Reserve the Repast Venue - Mr. Day included charges on the funeral invoice for the Scott Park Banquet Hall and repeatedly assured me that the venue had been reserved on the calendar. However, during our invoice finalization meeting on June 4, 2026, Mr. Day informed me that he had forgotten to save the reservation on the calendar, resulting in the banquet hall being reserved by another family. Mr. Day suggested that the repast be held before the funeral service--an arrangement that was neither practical nor appropriate given the circumstances. He offered to send me a list of alternative banquets. I never received the list or any additional assistance in locating a replacement venue. This preventable oversight forced my family to scramble for alternative arrangements at the last minute. 2. Cemetery Scheduling Error - On June 3, I received a call from Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, which offered condolences and advised that they had just spoken with Mr. Day regarding dispatching a crew to dig my grandmother's grave on June 6. This was incorrect because the funeral services were scheduled for the following Saturday. I informed her of the error and immediately contacted Mr. Day, who acknowledged his mistake and stated he still had the old date down, although I had already sent an email. 3. Casket Pricing and Product Information Errors - Mr. Day provided me with a casket selection sheet containing outdated pricing information. Near the end of the process, I discovered that the selected casket cost approximately $310 more than the quoted and given to me. 4. Failure to Follow Hair Instructions - I specifically instructed, both verbally and in writing, that a portion of my grandmother's hair be cut and preserved before her hair was dyed so that I could gift my family members with keepsake boxes. This instruction was not followed. My brother physically visited the funeral home on June 8th, in which Danielle cut her hair, but stated that she did not receive my email and that my grandmother's hair had already been dyed in preparation for her funeral. This is no longer a keepsake that my family will be able to have. 5. Failure to Attend Scheduled Meetings and Lack of Communication - Throughout the process, it was extremely difficult to reach Mr. Day. Numerous phone calls went unanswered, and staff frequently advised me that he was not in the office. Most notably, I scheduled an in-person meeting with him, arriving at 10:30-11:00 a.m. on June 8. I arrived at 10:55 a.m. and was instructed to wait. After waiting for close to an hour, the receptionist paged him multiple times, and the senior attendant even searched the parking lot for his vehicle. Mr. Day was nowhere to be found. 6. This situation caused significant frustration and resulted in an unpleasant interaction on my part. However, after this incident, I met with Mr. Carson and Tara, who worked diligently to finalize arrangements only two days before my grandmother's services. At that point, I specifically requested that Michael K. Day Jr. no longer be involved in handling my grandmother's funeral services or be the Funeral Director at my grandmother's services. This was reinforced when I spoke with his mother, Mrs. Alison Day. I do not take writing negative reviews lightly. In fact, I routinely leave positive reviews when I receive exceptional service from start to finish because I believe good businesses deserve to be recognized. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Your meticulous attention to every aspect of her appearance, from her hair and makeup to the large and small added accessories, displayed well with the floral arrangements and poster placements, enhanced the light in her that we all love and know. This attention to detail made us feel our Momma was in the best hands.  Tara, our Digital Designer, your patience and creativity in all things visual and the vault design, which depicted her life in pictures and video, were final additions that will remain with her through resurrection, adding a personal and visual touch of her life's journey. Jimmy, on family transportation, your compassion and gentleness were what we also needed to remind us that everything would be okay and that the House of Day was there to carry us through. Your emotional support was as important as the physical transportation you provided. Lastly, Roger, the Funeral Director, we appreciate you holding our hands every step of the way. The patience and counsel you provided during the pre-planning, merchandise and services selection, service arrangements, actual service coordination, and the entire post-follow-up process was genuine love for our family.
