I came to Loop for a two session crochet class ($85). I signed up on their website and it was a really smooth process. They offer a ton of classes and as a total novice I was excited for crochet 1. Caitlyn (I think this is how you spell it don't yell at me) was a friendly, helpful instructor. Materials are included in class, so you get yarn (one ball the first class and a full skein the second class) and a hook. The class had 8 participants but I felt like she did a good job at helping everyone. We learned a chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. The first class was just focused on learning the stitches. The second class we made coasters and followed a pattern. I didn't finish my coaster in class but was able to take it home to finish. With my knowledge, I was able to start and finish a second coaster by myself. I feel like this was a successful class in teaching me the basics of crochet and I am looking forward to the opportunity to take another class.

My first Super-wash wool purchase! The beginnings of a toddlers hat in the making!

I've been coming here for a few years, I admit that I was more of a Rosie's Yarn Cellar fan back a year or so ago, but since Rosie's closed, I've come to Loop's knitting circles quite often and really enjoy the warm, relaxed vibe. I often see many friendly faces at the knitting circle, and today I took a lesson with Mary! That was a lot of fun! That's how knitting lessons should be- relaxed and fun! I had taken lessons elsewhere in the area for years where I couldn't relax and felt nervous, but today's lesson was enjoyable, refreshing and I will definitely take another one with Mary! I had taken a class with Erika a few years ago and that was educational too. Over time, I've been getting to know others at Loop and today I was so touched when Laura and Craig waited outside for me as we ran into each other a block away from Loop, we all walked to Loop together! That warm, friendly vibe is what I really want in a yarn store and I'm thrilled Loop offers that. I really am glad that Loop is in town! Great, lovely place for knitting supplies, instruction and conversation at the knitting circle!

Love this LYS. It is smaller but they have been around for I think at least 15 years. Carries a great selection of yarn sizes in the best colors you want to knit in. Very helpful staff and prices are good for quality yarn

I felt they were not happy waiting on customers. At these prices service should be impeccable. Lots of other places to go.

I'm a beginning knitter, so I have a lot of questions, and the staff is willing to take time out to answer them.

This is an amazing place to learn a new craft! I've taken two classes there now, sewing 101 and quilting. Taught by different instructors, both so excellent at de-coding patterns and supporting you each step of the way! Extra shout out to Emily reaching quilting 101, who goes above and beyond to make sure that 6-9pm is still a productive learning time, assigning easy homework we can do independently, and literally offering to lend me a sewing machine for home because I'm so behind. I look forward to taking more of their classes! From bras to jackets, they have weeks-long series as well as one days.

I decided this was the year I was going to learn how to use it and I signed up for sewing 101. I take a Saturday morning class with Lara and I cannot say enough good things. They make it so easy to follow along, answer every question (even when you ask the same thing 3 different times) are so patient! I was even able to bring in my Grandmother's machine and Lara helped me get it set up and recommended a few pieces and tweaks. I can't wait to continue my sowing journey at Butcher's Sew Shop and am excited for what I make nex!
