Practice is very well run, excellent staff today was my last follow up after the Cataract surgery. Right now I have 2020 vision in one eye and the vision is crystal clear. Thank you Dr. Brass. for the care and professional service you all provided! Highly Recommend !! M.Pelletier

After several experiences over the course of the week were staff violated my HIPPA rights - notably when one receptionist grabbed the phone from another, stated my name and said she was ending the call (direct HIPPA violation) and hung up on me, I'm now tasked with tedious ethical obligations. It's important to note I deal with two large Doctors offices weekly - for many years, including getting prior authorizations - for a serious internal injury. The staff openly talk about patients. Dr. Roth engaged in office gossip, then based off that decided to call and attempt to degrade and threaten me. They're all rather stupid not to realize everyone has the ability to record things, and as a communication professional, I was so disturbed after my first contact I knew to protect myself. The slander he slung hurt him grossly as it is all contradicted by the conversation I had earlier in the day with Casey (who is highly manipulative and exhibits deep psychosis/lack of empathy comparable to seri@l k!llrs). He didn't even take the time to collect information before the call, not aware his threat meant nothing and me answering was giving him the shovel. He talks real loud.

IS THERE A LESS THAN 100 STAR RATING AVAILABLE??? I am so…read moreupset and disappointed in the lack of care or concern by the entire office staff. Today was my first & last visit to this over the top unprofessional place. As I was checking into my appointment, I was informed by the receptionist that Dr. Roth does not accept my insurance plan. Wait.. What? When I called to make the appointment, I stated that Dr. Alexander JC Penny Eye Care) was referring me to Dr. Brass (keep this tidbit in mind). As she was taking my info, she asked me who was my carrier. I replied, and also stated that I already checked the website and Dr. Brass was listed. She replied, please call your insurance carrier as sometimes things will change and it may not be accurate on the website. Fair enough. I called, and sure enough Dr. Brass was part of network. So why when I show up today do I have an appointment with Dr. Roth? I already stated who I was referred to and that is who I wanted to see. If you knew that Dr. Roth does not take my insurance, why wouldn't you tell me? Or better yet, don't schedule me with him. Stated that I was really having issues that I was concerned about & needed to see someone today. She continued to say that Dr. Roth does not take the insurance--if I really wanted the appointment, I could have it and pay out of my pocket. Or, she said, you can come back tomorrow to see Dr. Brass. NO-- I took time off of work TODAY, because today was my appointment. They would not accommodate me. She asked me if I had asked Ins carrier if Dr. Roth was in network. NO-- because I thought I was seeing Dr. Brass!!! Another woman stepped in and stated over & over the same thing (as a 3rd listened through the sliding window) Then a 4th stepped out from behind the office & was just as rigid & rude as can be. When I asked again, why would you give me an appointment with a Dr that does not take my insurance? She stated, we typically tell you who you have the appointment with, so you can verify with your carrier. My response was, yeah, operative word there-- typically. As you DID not tell me or even lead me to believe I was not seeing Dr. Brass. So I left in tears and very angry with the treatment I just incurred. My parents, who were waiting to bring me home, as I was told I could not drive after the appointment, saw how upset I was. They promptly drove me to their Dr. I spoke with a very professional woman- who CHECKED my coverage for me and gladly made an appointment for me. Yes, I have to take additional time off for the appointment. Which truthfully, I would have done to see either of your Dr's- but the simple fact that all 3 women were so indignant to think that I implied any miscommunication on their part-- that I will NEVER again step foot in there. I will make sure I tell EVERYONE who ever asks about my eye care to stay far away from you. I also called Dr. Alexander's office and suggested he choose a professional practice in his referrals.

On June 9th 2016 I had cataract surgery on my right eye. I found the office staff, and everyone…read moreinvolved with my care, to be professional and very pleasant, even when I was late for an appointment (oops). And yes, the thought of having surgery done on my eye, which you obviously can't shut, turn and look away, is a bit unnerving. Although Dr. Brass gave re-assurance that all would be well, nothing could have quelled the fear of eye surgery, in my mind anyway. But after having researched his track record, I knew he was probably right. Besides, you gotta do what you gotta do. The surgery went far better than I expected. It was all over in a blink (pun intended), and I was back home within 4 hrs from when I had left. I returned on Dec.19th to have the other eye done. This time my whole perspective had changed. It went just as well as the first, but with far less apprehension on my part. Although I am glad that humans have only two eyes, if we had a third, I would certainly have it's surgery done with this group. Oh and BTW, they have their own surgery center. Which I found, in my research, to be far easier and less expensive (due to insurance issues from what I was told by my company's HR dept.) than operations that are done at hospitals.

The technicians are pleasant enough. Everything seems to take a long time, so be prepared to wait…read morequite a while. The doctor is competent, although you spend very little time with her. There's not a lot of communication. My main concern was with the receptionist at the check in/out desk who was quite rude. I don't think a person with this kind of attitude should be in the position of greeting or interacting with patients. Generally the care I've received with this practice has been good. But there is room for improvement with patient interaction.

I have to agree with their very low rating. A couple of years ago I went there for a consultation…read morefor blepharoplasty. They did a thorough exam, took lots of photos. It was denied by my insurance company because they didn't send in the photos. I called the office and they kept transferring me to the person that takes photos so I could schedule photos but I already had photos done because they weren't listening to what I was saying. I finally got to the right person and they said they did send the photos so I asked them to just please send them again because they don't have them. Apparently they sent everything in as a new claim and it was denied because I already had an open claim. They also only submitted the claim for only one eye!! I ended up going somewhere else and was successful. Fast-forward to now, I went there for a certain issue. When I made the appointment I explained what was going on and got the appointment within two weeks. So I went there and they started doing their usual checking my vision, dilation, and when it comes to the actual eye test I was having a lot of trouble because I was there because I was having an issue whether I was wearing glasses or not. The technician got annoyed with me and kept saying I was being inconsistent and that she couldn't finish this exam because I was just being too inconsistent and I finally said well I'm not here for this anyway. I'm here because I'm having an actual issue. Apparently nobody told them why I was there. They thought I was there for a check up and some glasses. After almost 3 hours I finally got to see the doctor who started talking about glasses. Again I told him I am not there for glasses and told him what I was there for. He got a little flustered started throwing his arms up in the air he's like I just don't know and said a few other things and just left. Huh? He did order a test for my optic nerve which looked fine. He rescheduled me for two appointments. So I went in today for the first one and you know what it was for? Glasses! I asked even before I paid the co-pay what I was there for just to be safe and that's what I was told. They said sometimes prescriptions can change. And I said well it happens when I'm not wearing my glasses too so I'm gonna bet and say it's not the glasses. They still tried to get me to get the exam for new glasses! They do not listen to their patients. At all.
