I love Mexican folk art and finding stores with a great selection of quality pieces is not easy in Sacramento. Recently, I discovered this amazing store just over 50 miles from my home! The store carries a vast selection of items from fine Talavera from Puebla to garden statuary, pottery from Tonala, pine furniture, Lupita dolls, Mexican blown glass and so much more. I found three beautiful items on my recent visit for very fair prices. The lady who runs the store is very knowledgeable about the art she sells and also very helpful and kind to customers. I have been here several times and each time I fall in love with something new. They have a beautiful, curated shop of both indoor and outdoor pieces that would greatly enhance your home/business. This is one of the biggest shops in the wider Bay Area that offers such variety of Mexican/Latin inspired art and decor. They have tiles, Talavera, Najaco Lupita dolls (yay, not Navarro like so many other shops only have), furniture, kitchenware, clay pieces, some clothing, decor made out of tin, and sooo much more. The quality of all their products is wonderful. Service is fantastic. They take good care in wrapping your fragile purchases and answering all of your questions. When I have gone, I spend time walking aisle by aisle both indoor and outdoors. Prices are fairly priced and better here than other places where they want to charge an arm and a leg for the same item. Its quite a drive for many, but its well worth it. Parking is not an issue, they have plenty. Bathrooms are also available. If you plan to make a trip or if you are a regular customer check their social media before going. They are good at announcing special promotions or change in their business hours. They are very mindful of the weather and when its extreme temperatures, they close early. There is an outside area for your outdoor garden statues and decorations and then there is the inside. OMGOSH I didn't know where to begin! The amount and quality of the items was amazing. I felt completely overwhelmed lol I had no idea what to choose. In the end I went with a wall mount or spilling tilt pot in blue and white. Drove to Pine Mountain Lake for a family vacation with my wife and brothers and sisters family. Decided to stop here to see what they had, we picked up a few items. But we will definitely be back for the extensive number of tiles they have. The prices for their hand painted glazed tiles are amazing and the tiles are beautiful; we will be back. But the the real reason we are posting this to be sure to give 5+ stars was Brandon. Very sweet kid went out of his way to be accommodating; we thought we were in a 5 star hotel with the very sweet treatment he gave us but also not because he had to but because he was just a genuinely sweet person. This review is more to help someone with renew/restoring their fountain. I purchased the 3-tier fountain from Lopez about 15 years ago. It now looked horrible, stained, no finish. Lopez did not want to tell me what they used to stain the fountains, even after I called several times. So I drove over determined to find out exactly what they used. Upon appearing in person, I finally got someone to tell me the brand of acid stain they used and where to purchase it. Here is what I did to re-acid stain my fountain: **1st have a prep area and DO NOT DO IT ON CEMENT. I used a dirt patch in my yard and laid down a tarp. You also need the right temp 65-80 degrees makes a great spring or fall project time. This is at least a 2-3 weekend messy job. Cost about $110 total Make sure you have eye protection and at least dish gloves for protection throughout this project! * Pressure wash the fountain, then pressure wash again * I used Valspar (Lowe's) Valspar Fast Prep Interior/Exterior Concrete Cleaner and etcher $19.99 * Cement brush to scrub * Spray Valspar on as directed; I did it at least 3 times with a small garden sprayer. * Scrub, scrub, scrub-used all the Valspar * **Important** make sure you get any hard water lime/calcium build up off (it will show up later during staining if you don't) * Apply CLR or Lime-away wash, scrub and repeat * Pressure wash again THEN neutralize with TSP, scrub rinse let dry 24-48 hours * This is what Lopez would not tell me....They use Brick Form Blush-Tone Acid stain which can be purchased about 15 minutes away at Sunrise Building Materials in Modesto. * I used the color Mission Brown CS-700 * I applied the stain with a cement brush. I probably did 6 coats on the area where the water touched and about 3 coats on the base. The first coat was a pain as the cement sucked it in, having to get all the cracks and designs covered. The other coats went fairly fast. * Because I did not get the calcium off the middle tear it really showed up, almost as white during staining, so I did that particular area with a couple more coats-but it still did not look good * So it dried and it was on the rusty reddish side of the top of the color chart for that stain on the Brick Form brochure. I did not like it and I almost gave up. * Sunrise also sold me a water-based product called Glaze & Seal for pavers. After reading the directions, I called the company down in LA and they told me that was the wrong product to use. They recommend Glaze & Seal Lacquer Stain-which is NOT water based and is sold at Lowes for $69 a gallon. "Clear wet look GREEN for cement and Masonry" Surface MUST be completely dry before sealing! * So I applied the Lacquer stain and it turned it a beautiful wet look dark brown. I gave it about 3 coats on the base and about 6 coats where the water touched. I used about a 3/4 gallon. I am super happy how the fountain turned out!!! I also put a new pump in. Works and looks brand new!! It went from old and tied, to stripped, then brand new! read more

This was a drive-by find. Oddly enough, this place started as a cherry stand - then grew to a full-on produce market, then, in a strange twist, became a furniture, pottery, etc. import. You wander around pulling a wagon, both indoors and out. They have acres of Talavera pottery, tile, glassware, statues, and furniture, Masks, crosses (tile, metal, wood), fountains, statues. I bought a chimenea from this establishment 3 weeks ago. After only 3 fires, which burned about 4 hours each time, I already have 2 cracks and color chipping. I called Lopez Imports this morning and told them I was bringing this chimenea back to have it replaced and they had told me there were no guarantees on the products. I told him ever chimenea I have ever owned took at least a year or more to shed one crack. He then informed me that I should have only burned a fire for 30 minutes for the first few times. That was never explained to me when I purchased this product. I told the gentleman I was speaking to that I was bringing this back today and he told me NO! Which was then followed by a ring tone which I found extremely rude and unprofessional. This wasn't the first purchase I've made with Lopez Imports but it is now my last. read more

Great place to buy heavy duty concrete planters yard items. I have bought planters that filled my truck and almost needed a forklift to unload. I wanted something that I didn't see at the big box store and this place has it. The place is family owned very low key nobody rushed us to decide on what we wanted but I like that kind of shopping.
