Amazing total craftsmen. Have a Brownstone in Bed Stuy they restored my iron gate (120 years old) and put on a proper lock on it. Sent out their welders to reinstall- they were total professionals. They are now doing another project for me on different gate. Totally recommend. Love the honest advice they gave. Amazingly, it wasn't advice that made them the most money. Appreciate that the really do care about the work they do and the customer. Super old school ethics which definitely deserve 5 stars. read more

Joe from Lopopolo Iron Works built a steel deck for us. He was terrific to work with, very patient, thorough and fast. His guys were super nice and careful. I recommend using the architect he normally works with to make sure the permit and inspection process go smoothly. You do need to find someone else to lay the decking part, unless you are going with an all-metal deck. We are thrilled with how it came out. His quote was much more reasonable than other deck fabricators. I've recommended him to many friends already. read more

Lopopolo fabricated and installed basement hatches for the front and back of our brownstone in Bed Stuy, to replace the rusted ones that were literally falling apart. These guys were excellent. I recently moved and needed new ironwork done for security purposes. At 8 months pregnant and in the heat this summer, Lisa was able to help me this done at ease. She returned calls promptly, gave me good advise, sent someone to check the work asap and recommend a paint place that they work with so I can get the ironwork installed. Joe and his team recently fabricated and installed for us a custom reproduction of an intricately detailed iron and glass front door, circa 1894. We could not be more thrilled with this gorgeous work of art! Admittedly, it took longer than anticipated to receive the finished product, but soooo worth the wait. We had Lopopolo build a three-sided tree guard for the tree in front of our brownstone, and it looks terrific. I wanted a certain classic style of the type you see around Manhattan and Brooklyn. I sent them a photo, and they nailed it. The guard looks great, the details like corners, etc are perfect (better than the photo I sent, actually) and the pricing was reasonable. I got estimates from three local companies, and Lopopolo was the lowest. They were very responsive by phone and email when I was arranging the job. We had Lopopolo build two vents for our front yard hatch (to the cellar) and they did an amazing job. I never thought I could be so pleased with something as boring as air vents! Their work is clean, even, smooth and accurate. Joe very patiently reviewed drawings with me, then took the time to reach out to me, to double check a couple details (my drawings weren't totally clear) and executed perfectly exactly what I drew. His install guys were super efficient and nice, and checked in with me at all the key points to make sure we were on the same page about placement. The price was totally fair as well.
