Several years ago I came to Lora every month to get waxed. I had to stop going because of my budget at the time. Now I'm able to afford to go again, but since it had been so long since I'd seen her I no longer had her contact information and she wasn't at the salon she was previously. I originally found her on Groupon, so I checked the app to see if she still had one listed. She did. In order to get her phone number I had to purchase the Groupon, so I did. Groupon said you could purchase 3 for personal use, so I bought 2 at $23 each. After getting Lora's phone number I called her and left a vm. She texted me back and after I told her I had a Groupon she asked if I had been to her before, and I told her yes. We set an appt for the following day at 12pm. At some point in the conversation she said I could just buy the Groupon from her, but I had already bought mine. When I got to my appt she hugged me, said it was good to see me, etc. I tell her I already bought the Groupon. She says Groupons are for first time customers only usually, but she said it in a way that I thought meant she would still honor it this time. I told her I would return the second one I bought and just get it from her. She goes onto tell me how she's been trying to take down the listing for a long time bit Groupon just keeps putting it up. She starts getting things ready and tells me the wax service is normally $55 (listed as $45 on groupon) so she'll take what I paid for the deal off the service so it would be $32. I told her I wasn't able to do that right now, and she tells me, "Sorry! I can't give you a Brazilian for free! Groupon doesn't even pay me anything!" I know that Groupon takes a portion. The last salon I was at had a Groupon for $15 for a facial and the salon got $7. Obviously that's not a lot, and it would be preferable to have the customer pay you directly. But without Groupon I wouldn't have found her the first time years ago and I wouldn't have found her this time. I told her I had already paid $46, I couldn't afford another $30, plus the tip. She just shrugs and says, "Sorry." I'm actually sitting in my car from leaving her room. I didn't even think about how she told me yesterday that I could buy the Groupon from her. I would have paid $23 for the wax that way. But then today, she says $32. I'm just so frustrated right now. I used to buy a wax package every 5 months for $100. That was for 4 brazilians, and then a free full body sugar scrub OR a 5th brazilian wax for free. So $20 each. I get the concept of buying a package. Pay upfront and get a better deal. She had just started telling me that she still had her package you could buy. So she'll do a wax for $20, but then wanted to charge me $32 (even though she said the day before she'd do the Groupon price,) when I had already paid for the service through Groupon. It seems kind of unbelievable to me the comments she made about Groupon. That she's been trying to take down the deal for a long time. That Groupon doesn't give her any of the money from the sales. She could have given me a lot of the information she did today when I was booking the service and saved us both some time. It feels like she purposely didn't tell me, thinking that once I got to the salon I'd buy her package since I was already here. I guess if she's really been trying to get the Groupon taken down and they won't, a good way to have it removed is trying to scam people once they get to their appt. read more

Lora is great! I have been going to her for a while for Brazilian and occasionally armpits and eyebrows. She has a private room in Canyon Falls Spa which has nice decor not sure about the staff bc i skip reception and go straight to my girl. 1. She uses stripless wax and she makes sure to apply presure once the wax is removed to dull the sting. 2. She has flexibilty with scheduling and returns calls asap. 3. She typically sends reminder text the night before tour appointment. 4. Great pricing (if you do two areas the third is free) She runs promos from time to time and currently has a great one going. I would recommend her to anyone. Funny thing is she was recommended to me and have been with her ever since. Found her through Livingsocial and I am glad I did! I'm very picky about my Brazilians and she is the best that I've had so far in Vegas. She's thorough and uses the correct waxing techniques for your private area, along with an excellent quality hard wax. I don't mind pointing out if she's missed a spot because you can tell she really cares and wants to make sure you are happy. She has a great deal on touch-ups so after your first Brazilian with her, you can get them for a lot less (I forget the price, just ask her for her menu). Another thing she does well are eyebrows. Before her, I only let one lady touch my eyebrows and she's all the way in El Segundo, California. Now, I don't have to worry about waiting until my next trip to Cali to get my eyebrows shaped perfectly! Lora to the rescue! She's funny and talkative and knows how to make you comfortable immediately. She's claims she has years of experience and her work definitely proves it. I wish I could give this place no stars. I purchased a Living Social deal for her services based on what I read on Yelp. I tried calling the number listed on the Living Social deal and left messages for her, but received no calls back (This was last week and still no return phone call). The website I was referred to in order to schedule appointments (styleseat.com) didn't even list my deal in order to select an appointment time. I thought that I could just select the Groupon deal that was listed, but apparently she is sooooooo heavily booked that I couldn't even schedule anything early this week when I checked LAST week and called last week. I'm leaving Las Vegas, so I can't even use my Living Social deal. I have never had such a terrible time trying to use a Living Social deal and I can't get a refund even though I haven't heard from this chick for two weeks because I purchased it a month ago. Living Social told me to just try to handle with Lora, but I'm tired of trying to call her. I wasted $35 on a Living Social deal that I can't even use now and I don't want to use. read more

I have been going to Lora for years for Brazilian waxes and she is AMAZING! She uses great hard wax, works quickly and thoroughly and ensures you are happy each time. The ultimate Love / Hate relationship! I have to remember to arrange an outing with Lora so I can enjoy her company for once. We talk, as all salon life does, but seriously, when it is all getting ripped off, do you actually remember anything? I have not known a more personable person ever and I recommend her without hesitation. Lets face it, it's your "who-haw" and ladies are meticulous. No sweat, Lora wants you to be happy and she has no problem accommodating any correction on the spot or later. I am quite private and definitely a perfectionist, which is not always an easy scenario to deal with, but Lora has always been very easy going and really values the business of word of mouth. There is nothing I can't ask her about waxing, she is aware of all the different styles, etc. My daughter and her friends, all teenagers who wanted to have bakini waxes, were beside themselves with embarrassment and uncertainty.
