I would like to give a higher rating but this is as high as I could go. I went into the Vedder Rd. Location as I needed wiper blades. I went to the parts counter to get assurance I had grabbed the correct ones for my vehicle. Rod assisted me and I also asked if someone could possibly help replace my old ones as I'm disabled. Not only did he replace them, the previous wiper left rubber on my windshield, he went back in the store grabbed a razor blade and removed it so I did not wreck the new ones. I'd probably give this store a 3 or 4 star rating, but I'll go with 5 star to compensate for the man-child who gave a 1 star review because a light bulb cost a dollar more at Lordco. Pettiness knows no bounds. I have found that other stores have better prices (e.g. Walmart, Canadian Tire), but this Lordco is very close to where I live and they always have the parts I need in stock. I have *never* had any problems with staff. I've also had to return a couple of things, and never had any problems with returns either. Clean store, well stocked, helpful employees. read more

I am so furious. I purchased a radio bulb for a 1990 Ford Econoline. The parts man sold me a bulb for $1.54 plus .01 for an eco fee plus .19 HST for a total of $1.74. The glass on the bulb did not look exactly the same as the bulb that I showed him, but he said that the base of the bulb was the same. After I got home, I called Chilliwack Ford and I spoke to Jordan in parts. Jordan said they had the correct bulb and that it was only .40. I went down to Chilliwack Ford and I showed Jordan the bulb Lordco sold me. Jordan said it would fit, but the wattage was different. As a result, I purchased the bulb. The cost was .40 plus .05 HST for a grand total of .45. There was no eco fee! I returned to Lordco and the cashier sent me to the rear of the store for the return. There were 3 employees and a manager named "Brian" at the back counter. There was also a female customer and a younger girl standing to my right. Immediately, the manager (Brian) said in a demeaning manner "Oh, no!!! A return!!!" I informed Brian that I had purchased the same bulb from the dealership for .40 with no eco fee, and that they (Lordco) had charged me $1.54 plus a .01 eco fee plus the HST!!! The manager said to call the government regarding the eco fee. The manager continued in his demeaning manner and said that the dealership charges $400.00 for an alternator and if it would make me happy, he would charge me $400.00 next time! I informed Brian that it did not justify charging me four times as much for the bulb! Brian continued in his demeaning tone and said that I should go to the dealership and price there first before I come back! As I left, Brian demeaningly said "And you have a nice day!!!!" How disrespectful and unprofessional!!!!!! This was said in front of 4 staff members and the female customers. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT LORDCO AGAIN!!!!! I will be contacting the head office. Incidentally, I priced a power window motor at Fortin's Home Hardware on Vedder Road two days ago, and they sold it to me for $61.95. Lordco wanted $70.00! I bought it at Fortin's.... I left a voicemail complaint with "Diane" at the Lordco head office at 22866 Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge, British Columbia shortly after I got home. It is now January 27, 2013 and I have not received even a phone call. Thanks Diane! Now we know how much. Lordco cares about their customers. They don't!!!!! Lordco is a way overprised if you compare them with other auto supply stores. The only good thing is they stay open later in the day. That is not good enough! I suggest everyone shop elsewhere unless they are desperate. Let us show Lordco that they are not going to to get away with high prices and despicable treatment by local management and head office. read more

I don't like shopping at Lordco. Every time I browse the aisles and find something I want or need there are no prices marked on anything. I have to find an opening or wait at the till or the back counter and ask for a price check. Before I get the answer I am asked if I have an account. No I don't. Ok then this is the price. If I had an account it would be cheaper, depending on the percentage of discount my account would yield, which I am led to understand there are several tiers. I cannot imagine a scenario where I would need to be personally identified in order make a purchase for car parts so I choose not to open an account, knowing that it costs me more to remain an anonymous purchaser. I was with a buddy one time in the store who told me to just tell them anything for an account name. Apparently they never check or verify. I find that to be dishonest so still no leap toward my consumer comfort zone. The bogus name my buddy used flew well with the parts guy and other than the account name no further questions were asked on the subject. I wasn't sure what part my buddy was after until we left the store with it so on the way home I called a competitor and got a price check for the same part which panned out to still be $12 cheaper than Lordco and their alleged account "discount". I like being able to walk into a store, browse the goods and know the price without having to interact with a store chaperone with every item I might want. I am an impulse buyer that has no problem going into a place for one thing and coming out with more than I went for. Theres always tons of new stuff I didn't know about yet and lots of things I forget until I see them. Lordco makes freelance shopping very inconvenient for me so I simply don't shop there anymore. Turns out I am not alone. Whenever shopping for parts etc. comes up, my same dismay with Lordco is mentioned by others. I get to thinking about how much I may have bought (but didn't) from Lordco over the years and compile that with what I imagine others who wont shop there may have bought and it is sizeable enough that someone at Lordco should rethink their operations, unless they are making enough off of people who think they are getting a discount with their so-called "account" that Lordco doesn't have to care whether they sell to the rest of us or not. I have never had an issue with the store personnel. They have always been at least somewhat friendly and helpful but I find this to be commonplace between the competitors so nothing really stands out to justify Lordco's purchase process. My rating is directed purely at their methods of offers and sales. I should be able to browse and shop freely. I should be able to see what the price is without asking every time or having to haggle over it or have my personal information in their computer. The competitors I shop at do not require this. Their prices are as marked, the same price for everyone. Its really too bad because Lordco is much closer to me that where I alternately go but I have no problem shaking my head at the store as I pass it by to shop somewhere more buyer friendly.
