We contacted Sumas auto glass as they were on our way back to the states and I would rather get a chip fixed than have to get another windshield replaced. The folks at Sumas were friendly, knowledgeable, fast and fair. They let us know that they couldn't properly seal the chip due to size and depth and so they didn't charge us for the service. They also noticed a plastic piece on our car was loose and fastened it for us. If you are in the area and in need of service I highly recommend the fine folks at Sumas for your auto glass needs.

A couple of weeks ago unfortunately I backed out of a driveway and bumped into another truck (arrghh). His was taken care of through my insurance so I started to look for a body shop for my own truck. Went to a couple body shops locally and just had a negative experience, not very friendly or helpful. So I decided to drive from Chilliwack to Abbotsford to Boyd Autobody as someone had mentioned to me that they are really good. To sum it up it was the best experience I have ever had with my truck! Alicia, who helped me with everything from providing different options to repair, to dealing with the insurance paperwork, to confirming my appointment once the insurance had authorized it, was absolutely amazing. Helpful, extremely knowledgeable, so friendly and all in all she basically took care of everything and explained all the options. On the day of repair I was allowed to bring my dog inside, waited for the truck, the repair was finished quicker than they had estimated, the bumper looks amazing (!) and they had washed and vacuumed my truck!! On top Alicia ran a scan free of charge as my engine light had come on on the drive out. They just went the extra mile with everything. I really wish they had a mechanic shop and tire shop attached so I would never have to go anywhere else! One can dream lol. Thanks to all of you at Boyd! Left vehicle there; This place knew I was leaving on holidays that same day. Day I brought in truck: The front desk person was not to friendly and nor did anyone really seem to have a clue what, or who, or why I was there!!!!! Got that all straighten out: When I picked out almost the same tint that was already on the windows when truck was bought; The desk person starts choosing what she thinks it should be. Was even put out with my choice! Vehicle ready: Picked up my truck and not one worker said one word that I should: NEVER OPEN THE WINDOW FOR 3-4 DAYS AFTER! My husband even opened the driver's window in front of the shop worker who done the job, while talking to him... For at lest 2 hours goes by he comes home rolls up the window and I see 3 long streaks. I phone them, right before I'm finishing asking why is this the desk person start chewing me out, saying how bad those windows were and don't open them for 3-4 day! I told her it was too late, one was open; No one told different and why didn't anyone tell us this before hand? (As we were going on holidays; I would have waited until we got back... They were told before hand that we were leaving on holidays. The hottest weather of Aug.) My point is they are supposed to be the professionals, we trusted in them and they didn't seem to give a care about their customers. Just the rudeness, lack of one on customer service... They have lost all faith and our business. I do however believe the workers in the shop did their best with our vehicle, if not for their lack of talking to us when ready for pick up. I took my 2014 Mini Cooper to Apple Auto Glass in Abbotsford, after a rock from a highway dump…read moretruck seriously cracked its windshield. I was assured that their new windshield would be exactly the same as the original, other than Minis logo would not be on the glass. They installed a lighter, either none tinted windshield, or very lightly tinted in its place, that looks totally wrong, also it no longer matched the cars other tinted windows. Their cost for their poor substitute windshield part, was actually about $100 more than a genuine manufacturers replacement. I complained and showed the result to Apples Auto Glass' s owner, who refused to see the obvious lighter none tinted glass, assuring me that his glass was of good quality and this in his opinion seemed to be the only criteria that matters. I would certainly not recommend Apple Auto Glass. If you want your car to look right and its glass to maintain its original look, and the glass tint to be the same as the rest of the cars windows, better to take it elsewhere.
